oops sorry about that, wasn't anticipating taking backups would kill the server (I blame dannys 500mb of stuff, wasn't expecting that ), just got TF to transfer now, will do that tomorrow evening sometime.

Nope As Simon said, much processing power, more RAM, more bandwidth, more space. Should mean less downtime, we're starting to outgrow this server and as a result occasionally it gets overloaded - that should be a long way off with this new one, plenty of space to grow.

Still getting 0.2? This free offer is all over the internet it seems, I'd imagine their servers are getting quite bogged down by now.

We be moving servers very soon, its in the process of being set up right now. TF will be moved sometime either tonight or tomorrow evening.

No idea, sounds like your user/pass might be wrong, or it might just be registering you slowly in the system. If you're going to pay I'd personally go with newsdemon.com..

Worked out why its not showing feedback on occasions. It only happens on the front page - not on individual profiles. Example of how to 'break' it... Leave positive feedback for someone with 0 feedback. Feedback level for them increases to 1. Feedback shown on main page. Leave negative feedback for same person. Feedback level goes to 0. All feedback for them disappears from main page. So if someone has the same amount of + and - feedback, it disappears from the front page, and after looking for about 30 mins I still cant find out why, it should be simple

All servers should have all files, by the looks of it it was only posted 2 days ago, this free thing might be reeeeeeeeeally slow at updating the HDTV groups, thats all I can guess at really. It works fine for me downloading from newsdemon.com Have you tried anything else? Is it still only going at 30kbps? I don't lock threads on bittorrent itself, cos in itself its not illegal, same as this ps dont download illegal stuff.

I'm not sure about that, never had that error... It looks like its not finding some of the files, if I were you I wouldn't risk it, cut your losses and go for a different nzb (I had a look, there are loads for matrix). Seems like your having an unlucky start to this!

Can you post a screenshot? I'm not really sure, I don't use grabit often, or nzbsrus :$ If the batch thingys you're talking about are connections, eg "400 news.hitnews.eu: your per user connection limit has been reached" - then thats fine, as long as you're still downloading It'll fix itself.

Um, anything, yep - have a look around nzbsrus.com to get the idea. Obviously I only use it for legal stuff though, like... reading messages about star trek and the latest linux distro Unlike bittorrent the files are stored on servers, rather than home PCs, so you always get full download speeds.Also, unlike bittorrent, the files are only stored on the server for X amount of days (they call it retention) - this free one has 30 days of retention, which is quite low, mine has 90 I think. New files are being posted all the time though so its not really an issue. nmt_oli, leave it a few minutes before reconnecting. Never had the problem of it slowing everything down, try using newsleecher (what I use, a bit like grabit) or nzb-o-matic (very simple but does the job) instead, although if you use these theres another couple of steps you need to do after you've finished downloading (checking the files for errors, and fixing them if there are, and unpacking the rars) - grabit does these steps automatically but its simple to do it yourself - let me know if that speeds things up and I'll explain the last couple of steps each to their own I guess...

STEP 1 - GET YOUR NEWSGROUP SERVER SETTINGS No CC/bank details or payments details needed; http://member.hitnews.eu/signup.php Change the language to English (top right), select the first option (2 week trial) Then fill in all the * fields, just use a standard postcode where it says zip code, select any state, select UK as country click continue, and you'll get three emails in succession, follow the instructions and you'll get your newserver details STEP 2 - GET THE PROGRAM THAT ACTUALLY DOWNLOADS THE FILES Grabbit (http://www.shemes.com/index.php?p=download) set up: On first start of the program a wizard will appear (uninstall and reinstall to make this appear again if youve installed before) 1) On the first page enter this as the server: news.hitnews.eu and tick server requires a password 2) On the next page enter your username and password (exactly how it is given in the email (copy and paste it without any blank spaces) 3) Click next and let it download the grouplist 4) Finally select yes when it asks about automatic par and rar 5) Right click on the "Default Server" in the left pane and select the "Server properties" option 6) Drag the "Maximum Allowed Connections" to 8 and click OK STEP 3 - GET THE FILES THAT TELLS GRABIT WHERE TO GRAB THE FILES OFF THE NEWSGROUP SERVER Go to http://www.nzbsrus.com and sign up. Browse around a bit, find what you want and download the .nzb file, this will open in grabit and you'll be maxing your connection instantly. Just wait for it to finish doing its thing and find the files in the download folder. OR you can get your .nzb files from newzbin.com, but that costs 25p per week. Same with references really, you'll only be able to leave feedback if the transaction took place on here, same as it would be on ebay.. Can people leave more refs please? Maybe for people with randomish names. Afroman left one earlier which wouldn't show up (although it was counted) and it didnt show up until I changed the member ID it was left for in the database, which fixed it. For that reason I'll be adding 'Item(s) Bought' & 'Price' fields to the system, which can then be checked against the topic.. should be a good deterrent from fake feedback if anything. Anyone caught abusing it will be blacklisted, IE banned from feedback (maybe with a big fat blacklisted trader image on their feedback profile) and from FS/WTD at the very least. More suggestions along those lines welcome..
