I saw the gold rush alaska jungle one, that was pretty cool - although its a terrible way to mine gold (power washing vast amounts of earth), so I doubt that bunch would go out there. First I've seen of Jungle Gold - looks pretty awesome, at this rate I should be able to watch gold related programmes year round

should be fixed now, thanks for letting me know.

finally fixed

Oh right, no, sorry. I practiced in my parents fiesta for a few weeks, then I did 'proper' lessons in the instructors car. Then took the test in the instructors car You're best off getting a provisional licence and driving around as much as possible with someone who has a full licence (start in car parks, then go out on to roads), then taking 'real' lessons (IMO )
-
I learned in my parents ancient fiesta (just driving around with my dad on a provisional licence - did quite a lot of hours in it), then had 10 lessons and passed. Then my parents got a 106 for me to drive, which I crashed. Still feel guilty about crashing it, and for the poor folks I crashed into. ARRGHG. so stupid

I did a crash driving course thing, 10 x 1 hour lessons over a week, then the test on the weekend. Passed and totalled my (parents) car 8 days later Apart from that thought, I'd say its worth it. Loads less hassle and you can just get it over and done with. As long as you dont drive like a fanny afterwards.

Thats exactly what I did with the car thread... (edit: could have been Danny actually)
-
Heh, tried that! didn't go down well
-
yeah, it is. should be fixed in the next version of the forum, but they've been saying that for a while :/
-
they're back... if they start crashing the forum again they'll have to be split, but otherwise, enjoy
-
Believe it or not Muel, I'm on your side about SMs. That is just a post I've found from a thread in sm chat from a while back, but I've been saying the same for years.

I am here, sorry, been reeeally super busy recently, quit my old job one day and joined a startup the next, so my work day doesn't finish at 6 any more.. in fact it never seems to finish. On top of that, I only have access to broadband for 2 nights per week. I'll send you an email now. I made this doc up when the threads were closed, to try and demonstrate the damage (in my mind) that "the" threads have on the forum - the list is of 25 un-doctored randomly selected sequential topics from 2005, compared to what we'd have nowadays https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AncCAL1pCyUxdDdPWjJIRGhpbmZ6WUw2ZG5JbkJVenc#gid=0

We were never strict on starting new topics, I don't think anyway... It was more members saying "THERES A THREAD FOR THIS" (personally that made me die a little bit every time I read it). Could be rose tinted glasses though.. If you've refurbished a lighter, start a new topic. Sounds pretty interesting to me, no need to hide it in here And not that traffic necessarily correlates with someones perception of activity, but you may remember me saying a while back that traffic was consistently on a month by month downwards trend (for about 18 months, maybe more). Its been on an upwards trend for the past 3, with more traffic last month than we've had for the past 15 months odd. I've certainly noticed a lot more members online recently To be frank, we had a community feel waaaay before you joined and way before the happy and angry threads. I would say the threads and the 'community' it encouraged did their part to put people off checking back on the forum to see whats going on. It's subjective, you think one way, I think another.

Yeah, it would! Lots of the PMs just say "can u change my name" (yes, what to?..)
-
Are you on some archaic 'electricity is cheaper at night' thing? If so, maybe get a storage heater, apparently they're pretty good nowadays.
-
I am indeed more active than I was about a year or 2 ago Past week or 2 for me has been super busy. Apologies if you have PMd me 5 times but its still not changed, as mentioned before I generally blitz through about 50 of them in one go. I also don't usually respond to them until I've done them (keeping them unread lets me know which ones I still have to deal with)

Who has this signature? PS if you hover over someones signature, a little X appears in the top right, that'll let you hide that persons signature, or hide them for everyone. Regardless, 48 is a bit of a piss take

Please Bring Back The Old Validation System!
tomturd replied to Blake's topic in Trials-Forum News, Updates & Suggestions
Nuh, it won't The validation system although, sort of, in theory was a good idea, was actually a terrible idea. Stopping ALL new members from posting, and forcing them through an unfair system so they can 'prove' themselves is just unfiar, unwelcoming, and essentially just moved the problem somewhere else, and on top of that hourly emails asking us "how to post". We had something like 10,000 members unvalidated. TEN THOUSAND! just to stop the 1 or 2 a that bumped an old thread, it's not the answer. The answer is: education. Who can do it? You, the forum oldies. No amount of validation system will stop a member who doesn't know how forums work from bumping an old thread. Telling them "mate, this is from 2006.." and reporting it is a simpler solution. -
Ok, when you say "All the videos say they where uploaded on the 15th of February 2011" - what do you mean? Can you post a screenshot please?
-
Can you link to the topic/videos please? And which browser are you using?

The "instant" bit is the best bit really, no waiting. Literally took about 30 seconds to find the file on movies.io, click 'download with put.io', refresh xbmc put.io plugin, play film!
-
Someone in work showed me this last night. http://put.io: a service that gives you 1gb of free space. It downloads torrents for you, and then you download the files from your browser when they're finished. http://movies.io: a torrent search thing that integrates with put.io. The process: Sign up with both Link your movies.io account to your put.io account On movies.io, search for a recent torrent Click the 'download to put.io' button Login to put.io and find the torrent/file Download or play in your browser. The great thing about this is that if the torrent has been downloaded by a put.io user in the past (very likely if its a recent movie), then it'll show up in your account instantly, no waiting for it, and you can download it immediately. On top of that, theres a put.io plugin for XBMC which lets you stream your put.io files straight to your TV. PS obviously only download legal stuff. These are my views and nothing to do with TF

This was about 5 years ago, before safe search. I haven't actually googled donkey, but I can imagine what came up..
