Press Release Submitted by Krien Dawson of vario-bikes. Vario, established in the French Alps since the early 90’s is primarily known as a constructor of Freeride and Down Hill mountain bikes. However, a closer look at Vario’s history will show a healthy interest in Trials, with one of the best known and most distinctive trials bikes, Vario’s legendary Tibo frame, being part of our back-catalogue. For 2005, Vario are delighted to announce the release of the natural successor to the Tibo, another bike designed with the help of another uncannily talented rider called Tibo. French rider Tibo Veuillet, recently described as the “Cedric Gracia of Trails” is well known for his showmanship and joie de vivre. Tibo started working with Vario’s engineers over two years ago on the new trials platform, now known as the Styx. His combination of showman riding style, and competitive abilities (resulting in 5th at World Cup and 12th place at the World Championships in 2004), make him an ideal development athlete. From Tibo, we were keen to discover what tomorrows trails platform would look like, and we then set about integrating these elements into the Styx. For the newer generation of rider, looking for a longer reach on the bike, we have made the Styx available in two lengths, 1045 and 1075 MM. The bottom bracket is a one piece CNC’ed marvel, designed around a 100mm shell width, which offers maximum rigidity and stability. But the most distinctive and talked about feature, is undoubtedly the “monkey grip” arrangement of tube that make up the “top tube” on the Styx. This has led to a frame that is both sensibly light, strong and described by Tibo as “springy yet controlled – the frame offers a very confident feeling” From the first series of prototypes, as seen at The Cycle Show in London last September, came a raft of changes, both to improve the ride characteristics, and to ensure maximum strength. The process continued through the winter, ultimately resulting in a production frame that Tibo Veuillet and Vario are happy to put our names to. Retail Information: Availability: The first limited production run will be available from Vario, via it’s authorised dealers, (please see www.vario-bikes.com for a full list) before June 2005. In the first instance we will only be supplying frames, finished in pearescent white. In the longer term we intend to make a fully built bike available with matching fork and components selected by Tibo. What’s Included: As with all Vario frames, we include a quality semi integrated (also known as “no-stack” headset) with all frame sets. With the Styx frame we have chosen to use a 100mm bottom bracket shell width, however we are aware that this is not an item most shops will keep in stock. For this reason we are including a FSA Downhill ISIS BB (worth upwards of £50) with every frame. Frame Retail Price: £399 (including Aheadset & BB) Tech Spec’s: Wheelbase: 1045 & 1075 mm Chainstay Length: 385 mm Head Angle: 72° BB Position: +30 mm Frame Weight (L): 1.950 kg

I can honestly say I dont speed, not sinse I crashed anyway. I think thats down to the fact that crashing knocked my confidence down, and also now I have a 23 year old fiesta to drive about in - which at its top speed of 60mph (65 down a hill before it gets too shakey) feels like your going light-speed. Theres no rush at the end of the day. The difference in time between going 30mph and 40mph along a short stretch of road (like most 30's) is hardly worth the risk of getting caught (IMO (N))

Ill bet a mars bar 50 dont turn up... ive tried getting a few before (have noticed the error of my ways, and will send one to you free of charge if you send me an SAE) and only 6 ever come - apart from the first time they did free sims, when I got about 30, people made alot of money off that.. pretty much worthless nowadays though.

Ahhh.. I see what it is. You cant actually search the gallery.. (which is pants, not happy with the gallery and ive made my opinions clear to invision ), you are infact searching a 'redirect subforum' - all that subforum does is redirect to the gallery.. Sorry (Y) There is a new version of the gallery coming out which should sort out LOTS of issues, and actually make it properly usable.

Search the forum for 'helicoil' - there are loads of topics already. If you need to, bump up an old one. And no real excuses for spelling seeing as there is a spell check :D

Suspended for a month... bye bye :) (Members, it would help if you just left shit threads like this for the mods to deal with, rather than adding 30 odd replies to it!!)

Well apparently it was workers on the factory floor using one of seven computers which they have there... :) and there was quite a few threads that they 'contributed' to.. :) Thats in the past now, and as I said they havent been on the forum since then anyway. Eitherway, I think the majority of 'onza bashing' comes from before then.. when the stuff they made wasnt as good as it is nowadays.

Wasnt gonna bring it up.. but seeing as you already have... He's not the only one who remembers.. its such a slack way of running a company, sinse then I have lost all respect for them. I agree their products have improved over the past years, but their previous (I dunno, havent heard anything out of them sinse all their accounts were suspended) methods of attracting customers were false and underhand. Mud sticks..

For the record... All along ive said the only thing you need to do to get validated is to put some effort into your posts. I took 1 look, noticed he was using capitals and full stops () and validated him, simple as that, didnt even read the post. Thats how EASY it is to get validated. As for what to do with him, ill decide on my way home on the bus (maybe.. if i remember). Re-closed.

Its probably a popup from a program you have running in the background.. rather than off a website, so installing firefox alone wont help. Run ad-aware (someone posted a link about) then stop using IE and use Firefox instead and you should be rid of them for a while (Y)
