Disagree If you looked out for red/pink stuff in the background you'd also notice those bits were really really bright as well. Thought my TV was going funny, but then in the studio it looked normal.

You'll have to be validated before you can sell stuff. Couple of reasons.. It stops people signing up, ripping people off, then doing it again. It ensures you make a contribution to the forum, and not just come along, sell your frame (free! may I add) and then buggering off.

site5.com also get good reviews. Their control panel isnt as good IMO, but theyre a bit cheaper.
-
http://www.hostgator.co.uk/ $10 a month for 5gb space and 75gb bandwidth. They get good reviews and they're a proper hosting company, not some guy whos bought a server and selling packages off it (like we could ).

Auto Mod Please use the Best Of The Internet for topics like this.

Thats what firefox does when it cant/wont download the image which it should be.. a CTRL+F5 should sort that out for good - hopefully. As for the spell check, that should be an easy fix.. ill look into it now (ill just make it so you can resize the box if you want to)

Toys-R-Us for £1.99

Doh I'm off to Cardiff today so I'll have to look into it tomorrow. I'll be honest though and say I have absolutly no idea where to start. I'll reset the services again now, so can you let me know if you still get the errors between now and tomorrow?

$99... I would do them myself, but i'm not gifted in the area of design... I can follow a tutorial and use what I've learnt, but I cant do anything from scratch. Need stuff like this -

Nah not proper icons Just ones I can use on a website for sections like 'sport' 'travel' 'entertainment' etc.
-
I'm looking for icons like these- http://www.icongalore.com/web-icons/wi-001.php That kinda thing but without the swirly bits through them, anyone happen to know any good (free!) sites for them?

Sorry lack of communication here.. Rav has been emailing me about banners for the past few weeks which I havent had time to reply to, so ill let it slip on this occasion..

Cheers Got it all printed today and binded. 81 pages in total, and now in proper book stylee. Missed todays deadline by 10 minutes so gotta hand it in tomorrow. Its my final year yeah, but got another assignment for next wednesday and then exams straight after. 3rd year aint much fun. When im done im planning on wasting away the summer, then a trip to mongolia and a bit of travelling. Then at the moment I'm planning to start up some sort of business, quite possibly web design. Would be nice to be a full time forum tech monkey but theres no way on earth it could ever earn enough to live off Sure you will find something to do by the end, only about 3 of the many people I know here have jobs sorted at the moment, and its only 5 weeks til we finish - so you're not the only one who doesnt have a clue what to do! Off to continue the day of celebrating/drinking
-
Seems like a good place to end it
-
20,280 words and i'm just about done. Just need to proof read (no point now cos im a bit pissed - drinking and working simultaneously usually = not good) and sort out a CD with my code on

I was gonna close it after the first post but decided to leave it open.. Probably a wrong decision as when I came back, it was, as expected, full of shit. And thankfully already closed. Atleast a topic about killing people actually involves some sort of discussion.

A more up to date way of doing it is to use $mode = $HTTP_GET_VARS['mode']; [/code] You could just replace the variable with $HTTP_GET_VARS['mode'] directly, without assigning it to a variable at the top. Thats a bit messy though. Always been done that way as far as I remember

Fair enough, but whats that got to do with what this topic is about? Either way, I'd say making posts like this, bearing in mind by being sponsored and therefore respresenting your sponsors, make not only you, but your sponsors too, look unprofessional. I'm sure/know other members feel the same way, cos they've told me, so no matter how you reply you cant change the past, you can only work on it in the manner you come across on the forum in the future. To be fair, the way this post was responded to was also pretty unprofessional, and I wouldnt expect it from one of the major trials related companies. Two sides to everything.. Snappel, fair enough, you've met wayne and I've heard from others that he's a good guy in person, which i'm sure he is. However there are many more members on here that havent met him than have, and we only have what he says on the forum to go on. Back to the dissertation...
-
RE: the last few replies... kinda going off topic a bit. We all know you feel the need to support your sponsor which is fair enough. But, back to the topic, is it professional to 'slag off' other products/companies in the aim to promote your own sponsor? I personally think not. It doesnt just look bad on you, you are representing your sponsor, which makes them look bad too. Aimed at no one inparticular btw.

Thats all because mac OS is built on unix, and unix was created to be super secure with permissions and stuff from the beginning... same with all distro's of linux. Just fighting the corner for Windows. Not that I really like it over anything else, just providing some balance to the what appear to be unfounded comments from earlier in the thread I'm also a linux fan, and sure I could get used to a mac if I used one for any length of time. Also didnt mean to sound as if I think all people with a mac are geeks. More the other way around, that you won't find a true geek running windows, for good reason too.

The addon wasnt developed by Microsoft actually.. it was a seperate firm. Its a pretty blatant feature to want though. Doesnt take a genius to think of it, you could say I thought of it myself, as I thought 'hey wouldnt it'd be pretty handy if I could have those tab things you see all over windows, on my browser?' before I googled for it. But I didnt think of it myself, someone obviously thought of tabbed browsing before I did.... and where did they get the idea? Probably the same place as me, from using tabs in Windows for many years beforehand. And now your accusing microsoft of copying firefox for using tabs... something doesnt add up
-
Tabbed browsing has been around for years and years. Way before firefox. I had some addon installed on IE when I was about 16. Thats 5 years ago. EDIT: you'll probably also find it was microsoft/windows who came up with tabs in the first place. Theres some research about saying that tabs are by far the most intuitive way of laying out an interface. So you could say that it was firefox who stole the idea off microsoft, but that'd be stupid, cos tabs are pretty much a standard and have been since before the likes of firefox. People who create virus' generally are geeks - you need to be a geek to know how to write a virus. No self respecting geek wouldnt be using the likes of Unix/Linux/Mac OSX (built on Unix). Geeks dont like Windows, its just not cool in the geek world. I know this cos I sit in lectures getting pissed off at the gimps sniggering amongst themselves, thinking theyre cool cos they mutter 'bloody windows' (followed by sniggers) to themselves when the lecturers mouse gets stuck. Lastly, after that small rant If security on linux/macs wasnt an issue then there wouldnt be secuity updates issued for web servers, pretty much constantly.

It means about 500mb of memory is being used, and you have 246mb spare, not bad... nothing to worry about.
-
Nah not really. I've done exactly that and its nothing that special at the moment. You may as well just look up screen shots, theres a few reviews around of the Betas already. Worked on a non HD monitor aswell

Hyper threading is pretty much the equivelent of having 2 processors. This could be totally wrong, but in normal processors, for each cycle it makes, it executes one statement. Each cycle can be referred to as the 'tick tock' of the clock. With HT processors, one statement it executed on the tick, and one on the tock. Doubling the speed of the computer. As for the thread, no matter where you go, unless theyre selling it way way cheap (unlikely), it will be cheaper to go on ebuyer.com, buy the bits yourself and build it up.
