Well... I flew to Ireland (Dublin) and all they needed was a driving licence... if thats any help. I'd imagine you'd just need some sort of photo ID, so they know they're letting the right person onto the plane.

Hmm just looks like a very clean car to me, which someones bothered to dry off and buff... Might be worth the time if you were selling the car or something, but cant really see the point otherwise

Haha that'd probably be because I am at the best of times, let alone after sitting in a car for 10 hours a day for a month and eating bare minimum.. (yet still ate more than the other 2 I was with.. who are normal weight )

cheers, this nice to be back (apart from the illness and shite weather..) theres some photos up on http://www.tenbymongols.co.uk, nothing too exciting i'm afraid, mainly due to there not being very many exciting things to take photos of. a couple that didnt make it to the gallery. i dont remember this being taken.. [attachmentid=6852] or this.. [attachmentid=6853] thats what happens when bars serve whole bottles of vodka over the bar.

wouldn't quite call it that 2 parties in a month is a pretty poor show really. Anyway, I've been home less than 48 hours (spent a few nights in cardiff with my gf) for which time i've had a rancid cold. So even though I normally wouldnt be going outside today, I will do especially for you. PM me your address.

Theres like 4 different types of police in russia, we mainly enountered the traffic filth. Usually alright, although pretty terrible for demanding bribes, especially in the east. Lots of police/kids brandishing AK47s on the borders though. In Beijing now, 12 hour bus journey in a 'sleeper' bus, how that got through advertising regulations I'll never know.. Got here 4am this morning with nowhere to sleep but managed to find somewhere in the end. Otherwise we'd have joined everyone else sleeping on the street. Needless to say, this place is massive. We've walked so far away from our hostel i'm unsure we'll ever get back. Heading to the forbidden city like any proper tourist should. Flight home on monday maybe? Don't really know

Cheers guys! I'm getting on a train later to the mongolian border, takes 16 hours or something. Then a mini bus over the border, then another 10hr train to beijing. Then after an unknown quantity of time, hopefully at least a few days, we should be on a plane heading back to heathrow. Looking forward to seeing China

Ahoy hoy all. Computers eh. Nearly forgot how to use one, which is nice. Anyway, I'm currently typing from Ulaan Bator, Mongolia (Cant even spell it..) - f'in (sorry mum) pleased with myself. Got a raging hangover, drank a wreckless amount of vodka last night at the finishing party. Thanks for all the good lucks The car is still going somehow, the only thing that properly broke was the starter motor, rather inappropriatly happened in a kazakh police check point, so we had to push it through. A tow, 18 quid and a spannering later by a huge russian smoking an endless supply of fags, and it was fixed again. Luckily it broke about 5km from the nearest town, not bad seeing as there were no others within about 300 miles. Only other time we seriously thought the car was broke was about 2 miles from the garage I just wrote about, the heater stopped working (we had it on all the time through kazakhstan to stop the engine overheating) and the temperature went right up. After a look in the engine (not sure why seeing as we still no nothing about cars) we decided to turn around and go back to the garage. On the way back it started working again, so we turned around again to continue our mission - heater stopped working. Turned back again. Heater started working etc etc. In the end we figured out, because it was so windy that when driving with the wind, it was blowing the hot air back into the engine. Driving into the wind it was fine. Other minor problems - smashed front head lamp - smashed rally lamp thing - lots of dents in the floor of the car - one popped wheel (dented the rim) - clicking sound from front hubs when turning tight corners (at slow speed) Car has taken a hell of a beating really. Roads in kazakhstan (which for the record is absolutly massive - about the size of western europe) are terrible. Literally 3 or 4 foot deep pot holes, and about 10 foot wide. So bad that its easier to drive on the sandy tracks to the side of it. Many, many run ins with the police around the place. Russian filth are particularly bad. Anyway, I'm about to pass out in the heat and this computer lark is confusing me. Back in maybe a week or 2, really have no idea how to get home yet. Probably a train to beijing and a flight home maybe. Who knows..

Oops seems I've missed 6 o'clock. Gimme a few seconds and i'll come up with a plan..
-
Cheers, much appreciated hasnt really sank in how much of an epic adventure its going to be yet... Thanks also Now over £300 and i've blatantly made a mistake somewhere along the lines... the money doesnt match up to the tickets at all, oh well... Can everyone please check their numbers, and also make sure that they dont clash with the person infront/behind you! (otherwise i'm going to be in a pickle if 2 people win the same prize..) Just over 3 hours to get tickets, or however long it takes me to get back on here after the pub. Massive thanks to everyone who has donated, never expected to reach £100 let alone £300, truly amazing

I'll draw it at.... errr, 6pm. If I know in advance that I won't be able to do it then i'll let you all know in advance. I'm currently stupidly busy doing all sorts of stuff getting ready for it..
