Beta 125's NEVER piss petrol. Only the 250's and 270's as they have a mikuni carb. The 125's have a delorto carb until 2008 where they have keihin carbs. It is to do with the float tangs being slightly bent. You need to make sure they are parrelell to the carb body. If you look on R2W trials website (Heath's site) then he has posted infomation on how to modify the carb correctly. There are also hundreds of postes on trials central on this....

I had a really good topic going when i was looking for a 125. There are a few key points about the bikes. 1. Beta. From my experiance 2007 onwards seam to be the most powerfull 125 betas. However the older Rev 3's and Technos are just as much fun to ride. Betas have really smoooooooth power and brilliant to learn on. There also really strong bikes. Like every bike they have there weekness for example the stators going on a handfull of the older ones. But this seams to have been solved. The good build quality is reflected in the reasonably high price. However Rev 3 beta's tend to hold their price well as minimal changes where made throughout the years of manufacture. 2. gas gas. Cheap to buy, rev to the moon and with bicycle weight. However not a good choice if you are a wrecker! With a good maintanence programe they can be kept in tip top condition. However poor maintainence will not be rewarded and works out expensive in the long run. 3. sherco. Sherco 125's tend to be quite tourqy. This is birlliant but personally isnt my choice in bikes. They have been known for the frames to crack reasonably easily, and suspention bearings tend to go easily. What i have said is a rough guide to 125's, however please do not go and buy a bike just on what i have said. You mush buy a bike for how it suits you. I struggle on riding anything other than Beta's and Montesa's. Its just my style. Another point to look at is what type of clubs are around you. If they are all ACU affiliated clubs then you can only ride a 125. However if they are affiliated to the AMCA you can ride a 250 at your age. This is how i started trials on a Yamaha ty250 (just like muel!). You will also get more for your money if you buy a larger capacity bike, as every youth now wants a 125! Hope this helps, Max

Trialsbits are brill! I order from them all the time, (and tonight). Stuff usually comes within 2-3 days.

The origanal is far better.

Check this out Trials Bits. Brilliant website, and postage for anything is just £3!!!!!

possibly the bearings are packed full of grease. Too much grease will slow things down considerably.

Cheers for the quick responce. Im not sure what year it is as it came on my bike and has no markings on it. I only presume its an echo because its built onto an echo hub. max

I need to know roughly how many grinds a rim will take. When i got my bike the rear wheel had already had at least one grind, and since christmas i have done another. But it keeps going blunt and it could do with doing again really. How many grinds will an echo rim take? cheers max

Wait just one minuete. If you look in the bike pictures thread he is very much alive and riding........ Who ever thought this joke up is a pikey..
-
Sound good Muel. I replyed to your topic on trials central about your rebuild.
-
OHHHHHH thats you on trials central! lol The manifold mod is done by birkets (scorpa/ yamaha). If you send them the barrel i think they still do it. It gives the bike a load more touque (scary). I personally wouldnt have it done. We had a few problems with the bike overheating at first. But make sure your running a resistor plug, and good carbiration, it should be fine. Here is my beauty. After we resprayed it and put fresh graphics on it. max Edit: fogot to mention muel, the silencer makes a huge differnce to the power of the bike. There are generally two kinds of aftermarket pipes. 1. power 2. smooth. I had a power pipe and my dad had a smooth. The inlet manifold mod+power pipe= leathel!

Who Is Your Favourite Rider ?
trialsmax04 replied to me and my t-vee's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I really like lazenby, but im afraid it has to be danny Mac -
My Monty square taper cranks have no wear on the square face and i replaced my BB and they creak. Just put a small smeer of grease on the splines. Save a lot of money.

Its brilliant to see the TY's out there. I ran mine for a few years and my dad had a pinkie. If there is anything you need to know muel, we have had the buggers down to the ground! A few of them had mods done on the inlet manifolds to make them a bit snappier. And by god it worked! I used to wheelie dads pinkie in 4th and 5th wheelspining! max

Im very impressed with the trialtech lite chain.

haha that made me laugh! Im starting to think its just my riding ability thats holding me back not the bike. Just need somewhere to practice really. max
