  1. Divide it up into skills 'chapters'...then each chapter into projects, or collections of similar work. i.e. Fine Art skills, painting, hand drawing, photography etc Another would be- Computer Skills, show work done on Photoshop, illustrator etc. From experience if your printing images / pages for your folio, do it on glossy paper or something other than the standard printer paper. Add your CV along with it. Another tip; if you have work you are super proud of, put it in your portfolio twice if needs be. I alway put a stand out piece of work in as the very last page with all my information (I may have that piece of work a project earlier in my portfolio.) This is the last thing anyone will see who is looking at your portfolio and the most likely to be remembered.
  2. I really like your drawing style..super clean and has a great gestured feel.

  4. I'm out of the loop on the English qualifications....I headed to the USA for my college. AA's and BA's From my experience with degrees in the field of design. A degree is a piece of paper, with monetary pull and the quality of being able to opening doors. Your portfolio and knowledge of programs will be what gets you hired. Advice if you do pursue this for college; Don't become a one trick pony.. Example you may get to be amazing a Illustrator and have the ability to produce a Class A finishes, but if a company used a variety of other programs they will hire the person that will require the least amount of teaching in these programs. (they may not be as skilled in that one program but it a time and money thing) Do all work in school for your portfolio, love it or hate the project - show how well you work. Keep an eye on others work....students and professionals. Knowing your competition will put you a step ahead and push you to be the best you can be. Good luck...any jobs that allow you to be creative are a major plus in my eyes.
  5. Mix of stuff....I'm about to graduate with a BA in Industrial Design, I have a back ground of graphic design and fine art. Coroflot has maybe 15% of my actual portfolio...too busy with Graduate project to update this. www.coroflot.com/phlo Illustrator 3-D Studio Max SolidWorks AutoCAD Custom Paint
  6. Hello again. If you missed my last survey and intro, here is a quick brief. I'm a international student from England, at school in American studying Industrial Design. I'm almost done and currently working on my graduate project. I recently found a design competition for the 'a commuter bike for the masses', the projects time line unfortunate falls outside the competition but this is the category where my project falls. My aim is to produce a city/commuter bicycle design that is up to date with peoples needs, technologies and materials. Survey 2. The design is progressing well and its time to finalize some key aspects of the bicycle. This is where I ask of your help and expertise in knowing what you like and want. If you could please follow the link bellow to my second survey. It is really quick and shouldn't take much more than a minute or two...Thank you for your time. http://www.polldaddy.com/s/CDF1B19F13D6C17F/ Ride Safe.
  7. Simpson, I am sensing you may not fit in to the target market/demographic range of the project. This doesn't mean your input isn't valuable, it is , actually very valuable.
  8. The bicycle is still the most efficient way to travel from A to B, if you stop somewhere on the way you still haven't reached B, so one ride. Get what your saying though....believe me I dislike giving, making, and editing a surveys. Deferentially not a highlight of my degree.
  9. Foiled....Trying to avoid the roady situation. Pulling from the technology on them, but primarily not trying to appeal to them, they are tooo needy. First round....its coming. Got to gather info then cancel certain areas and develop others. + for joe public this survey is a head scratch for some.(no bike knowledge, people that just ride) Example...I had to explain to one of the participants that the lane on the road with the bicycle logo is a cycling lane. Have a few professional contacts including Frank the welder, because of this already narrowing certain criteria, on the manufacturing/sale needs side. Market research has shown the MTB hybrid/comfort range is one of the biggest market shares and the fastest growing. From this the demographic range I'm aim toward is away from the roady, that market segment is too specialized with to high of a demand concerning needs and constraints for what sells. (+ their typical mileage range is way outside the project specs) Goes a lot deeper but don't want to influence the survey......too much. -------------- Thanks for participating and the feedback!!
  10. Righto this is round one survey (10 questions) , for my graduate project. I'm not getting the number of reply's I need to keep the teachers happy. Almost hate to ask such basic obvious question to a cyclist. (It was intended for joe public, the none avid cyclist. Problem is its winter here and nobody is riding) This is a very basic survey, more to provide numbers and backing for the rest of the project. Note....Path/pavement = Sidewalk. Click ME................. I'll post Second development survey once I have reached a bigger total for this one. _________________________________________________ Info: Studying 'Industrial Design' 6months to do the project. International student...got to show the Americans how the Brit's do work. Project brief. City/Urban Bicycle...Rethink, refresh, redesign. Cheers For the look, bigger cheers if you participate Phil
  11. Chaz check your copyright, some don't pull any weight out side the country of origin, same with most patents.
  12. oi...gone but not forgotten I hope. Your still churning out some tasty videos.

  13. From my building code experience, the strength in welding Alu comes from the material you add in during the welding....but that not to say there isn't a point which you pass and have excess. As for brushing....what I've done, polish it, then take scotchbrite pad (industrial strengt?heavy duty works best.) and stroke in one direction!! this is where you will make of brake the final look. As long as you take the time to NOT go backward and forward, just using repetitive one direction strokes you will get a nice strait grain effect.
  14. Yeh check out Andy T's leaving CO video....sure he's on there with Cole (another silly good rider)
  15. No footage....but I've rode with that bloke a fair few times, that video does no justice.

  17. Nice....very nice...that was quality. Looked like he had a flat in the Cruiser at the end.
  18. If you ride your bike to be sponsored your not riding it for the right reason. Congrads on winning inters.....Step it up to Expert and see how you do.
  19. Dan Bulter??any footage. He finish 10th??in Elite....that very respect full!
  20. I believe you can install a special relay that the central locking locks/arms after the turbo timer finishes its job. I have a Greddy timer and was going to put on the Gti but I figured if the turbo goes...hmmm have to replace itwitha bigger on. One of my mates with his GLI had it with 2 relays that the windows would close as well as the car locking...pretty funny to see the car lock itself with keys in whilst sitting on a dyno. As for the timers job...the turbo gets to obscene temperatures when driven, at idle its runs a lot colder. To extend the life of your turbo, and stop warping of the blades, the timer allows the car to circulate the built up hot oil in in the turbo for cooler oil, obscenely hot oil that would just sit in the turbo if you switched the car strait off.
  21. Bye Bye GTi....It time has come... darkside of CO, sitting pretty There will be more dubs... Project aircooled next....then when I graduate, its onto the really expensive stuff!
  22. Good riding, some big moves...but unless the demo was to show how to do all of three different ways to up, it was bland.
  23. Edit after the edit. Question...Why hasn't Matt Staples and Danny Macaskillage ridden together.....I know they live at different ends of the country but that would be a peach of a video.
