  1. You can so get pads that work well in both. Cousts, Rock Blues, TNN's. Theres plenty. And that means you need to persuade your friend to run odd pads too. And you didn't clear up different wear rates either.
  2. Yeah, theres a guide in the wiki. Just make sure that the offset spoke holes in the rim go to the relative side on the hub, and also, you need to make sure the spokes DON'T cross at the valve hole. It's fairly easy to do. Good luck
  3. Orrr..... Get two pads which are good for both bite and hold = more of a win. Also don't have to worry about the different pads wearing at different rates, and when you need a new set, if you combine, you need to pay for two sets. Whereas if you just use the same pad you only pay for one.
  4. I don't really see the point because if your brake starts failing, you won't know which pad is too blame. One could be absolutely amazing and the other completely shite and you wouldn't know. So in the future you might avoid both these pads when buying new sets but if you had got two of the good ones your brake would be unreal. Lol... That kinda didn't even make sense in my head:lol:
  5. Oright, hmm... Seems to be quite even as to what techniques people use. My grinds seem to be deep enough, but not sharp enough. i did a light grind and it felt sharp, but now, it doesn't feel sharp but it is still resonably deep if you get me?
  6. Your getting soo good now Jamie! Looks like you ride the Lynx really comfortably. Nice one(Y)
  7. Oright, so you DON'T do what TNN tell you to do in the vid. Erm, it's an Echo Urban rim which from what i've heard is one of the best grinding rims out there. Yeah, been riding in the wet, not mud though. And I have Heatsink Snowies, which aren't that hard a compound so it can't be the pads doing it. What do you reckon?
  8. Amazing pictures. Always liked your style. Quality is absolutely spot on aswell. Seems like your camera is a beast.
  9. Looks really nice Scott. . get a front vee and your sorted. Great to see you start riding again. I'll do some filming for you if y'ant. Vid should be mint.
  10. Well Vimeo is higher quality, but it takes longer to buffer, videos take longer to upload, and there isn't as many videos as there are on Youtube. Youtube loads fast, and theres all the related videos aswell, but the really annoything thing about Youtube is that it takes away the audio from some vids. I find Youtube alot easier to use and find videos and stuff. So overall, I voted for Youtube.
  11. I recently decided to go to grinds as it's getting to that time of year. I used a brand new, thin metal cutting disc. I had the grinder at quite a shallow angle for a light grind and it felt nice and sharp, however, after a few days the grind feels quite dead. I was wondering if it was down to grinding technique. I used the search and found quite alot of topics on grinding and there seems to be two main techniques. The first one: To keep grinding in the same direction doing about 4" sweeps at a time. As shown in these rim grinding instructional video. Krisboats Guide . This is what I did when I ground my rim. The second one: As far as rim grinding videos are concerned this one seems more popular. As shown here: | Other Guide | And this guide . Which consists of moving the grinder in both directions as you grind round the rim. So I as wondering if I should try that one instead? Your opinions on what to do would be much appreciated. thanks
  12. It's been discontinued though.
  13. Quite enjoyed that actually. Pretty decent riding. Nice edit too Hoby.
  14. Well, imo a front rim brake OWNS a disc brakes ass anyday. No, it's not worth paying £110. It's rip off. Go for a front vee. Honestly, the only brake you'll ever need. I could go on forever listing all the great things about vee's but I can't be assed right now. Haha.
  15. That other video was beast. But he suited mod alot better. And rode it alot better.
  16. Awesome Brodie! You still got it boiiii! Defo stick with it this time!
  17. Masssive riding! Liking all the crank spins.

Hmm... maybe so, but it was obviously encouraging enough for you to click on the topic and post a comment. Thanks for the comments people. Much appreciated.
  20. Firstly, calm down on the questions marks! One will do thank you. Secondly, I find that Heatsink Snowies in CNC'd backings are by far the best pads available for smooth, and in my experiences, completely out-perform other pads.
  21. Wow! Probably the best advert i've ever seen!
  22. Liked that video! Huge dropgaps. Tighten the ol' chain though.
  23. IMO means In My Opinion.
