been everywhere today with me m8's, we went down the woods where they all ride the pit bikes and found only 2 kids there. theyw ere shittin em selves when they saw us -stupid little chavs. We went to the pikey site but no sign and all through gravesend. This afternoon a red vauxhall estate with blacked out windows went past my house twice in 5 mins. They really slowed down going past my drive. probably looking to see if i have added any security. -Looks like they might try again. -Hugh

Hi guys my garage was robbed last night and they got all my stuff-2005 red/carbon monty it with black try-all rims and front hope mono trial, trek silver/blue disk spec xc bike, compressor, loads of tools and tool chest, and my pit bike i had only just got for christmas!! if i find em i'll kill em

believe me m8, the short block's work better-more pressure on 1 area. take the short monty blocks compared to the long ones. the short ones are twice as grabby.

cheers lads for the advice. look's like it's the frame to go for. Think i'll be trying some of those brake pads too.

How do they ride? How are they all holding up etc?????
-
I've been ridin with juanda de la pena and a couple of the other elite lads at the worlds. They all run their tyres pretty hard in the dry. they dont need to find all their bounce in the tyre, it's in their muscles and technique. Also on natural stuff, when your on an angled rock for exaple you dont want your tyre soft otherwise it will fold and you will be out of control, with a hard tyre it only folds slightly and you are in complete control.
-
I've seen that pic before on bike trial spain. he runs his tyres solid, as do most of the elite riders. i think he was just on the edge there and was leaning in. either that or he had a puncture but he deffo runs his tyres solid.

used to do it, thats how i got into biketrials but did mx before anything else and have now gone back to that.

yeah long mod bikes feel shite to me to m8, it's just i have had 3 monty's now and they have been faultless, however other makes i have had eg koxx, onza etc have all been really crap compared it was either them cracking or denting sooo easy. But to anyone on here monty are the way to go as far as i am concerned.
-
have you actually ever owned a monty m8? Everyone just goes on what they used to be like but since 2004/2005 they are possibly the best mod bike going. also the only monty's that have cracked are the ones where people run profiles which they are told not to because it really bends the frame out.
-
There's no way people can say 2004/2005/2006 monty ti's are weak, i have a had 2 and found both to be absolutely solid bikes, the only people saying they crack are people running profiles when told not to becase theyre like 4mm wider than a monty hub or people who dont have a clue and just comment for the sake of it. No i personally wouldnt buy a cracked frame because it wont be as strong as a new one but it's up to you and your budget. By the way people who have cracked the monty's tend to change bk and forth from monty wheels to profiles etc so this puts a hell of alot of stress on the frame. -Hugh To be honest mate echo teams and zoo's dont compare in strength and quality of a monty. saw someone land on a big steel bolt on the downtube at a comp not so long ago and there wasnt even the slightest dent only a small scratch!!!! Monty's are deffo built and designed better than the zoo etc, the metal they use is stronger too.

did u run a profile in it by any chance?

I have to agree with aust on this everyone should be treated equally unless they have told one side, either BIU or UCI that they are not riding. Although i do have to say i thought it was wicked at BIU last year. Looking forward to addingham this weekend (Y)

do toxsin have a website?

Hi all. I was looking into buying one of these coustellier replica frames. However some people have told me that they are not as good as the real thing and some people have said they are frome the same factory just out the "back door" kinda thing. Can any one tell me what the facts r before i go buy this because i dont want a second rate frame? Also another option would be a toxsin, any feedback on this would also be appreciated. cheers-Hugh

Ok sounds good. -Hugh

i ride for cleanbikes at the moment on a monty ti but i wanted to get one of those coust rep frames to try as i luv front touching. I see the coustelliers have there own home made forks. Is there no way i can take the dropouts off a stick them with maybe a stronger glue or something, or maybe srew them in????? -Hugh

Ok thanks alot wayne, i am riding at Addingham, i'll be with Chris Light (Y) -Hugh

Hi all, i currently ride a mod but i'm building up a stock very soon. I have been offered a pair of pace rc31 carbon forks (coustellier style). does anyone know if theses would be strong enough to withstand general trials use, front touching etc? -Hugh
