Buy the Echo TR pedals. 'Nuff said.
-
Might be worth getting it welded and heat treated if you can get it done cheap enough. If not, I shouldn't imagine a T-pro frame would cost too much on here!
-
Tpro
True.
Whilst the Rip is a good beginner bike, its 20" rear wheel, steel forks and vee brake mounts go against it. Buy a used T-pro off ebay and upgrade parts as they break. The T-pro has much greater potential to upgrade.

Heatsink CNC Yellows + light/medium SHARP grind
Echo SL clamps (the best!)
GU 4 bolt booster
-
Sorta true...... Zoo frames are strong but you dont really wanna be smashing one up learning the basics of trials. Wait til you've improved a bit then upgrade
-
Chain tugs are shit though, snail cams eff tee dubya if your frame can run them
True. are there any threaded holes on the dropouts? You may well be able to run snail cams. I think the TrialTechs and the V!Z ones are the biggest (offer the most range of adjusment) so you'll be best with those.
If anyone knows different, feel free to correct me!
-
Exactly. My Eno is over 3 years old now and still going strong!
-
My traitech one rode really smooth
+1 TrialTech is a safe bet but just go for the cheapest one as I doubt there is any difference in build quality
-
Try this site if you're after another GU, plus theres plenty of other 20" frames
TrialProd
Oh, should probs say, I'm the guy who was riding CLS Python in Derby with you and Jules one day quite a while back lol........
-
I've ordered parts from select before, very good service and they seem to have quite a few of the older deng products
definately trustworthy!
-
A Profile is within that budget

Have a scoot round the for sale section and see what the search brings up (if its working) to see how much people have sold theirs for in the past
BTW, is it a long or short?
-
Hmmm, I've heard a few people complaining about the Hopes....
Dunno why though, I've never had a problem with them before.....
You could always go for an Avid BB7 or a Magura Louise....
-
I'd probs suggest rear 05+ maggy with cnc deng lever, cnc clamps, cnc yellows and a front Hope mono trial.
Sorted.
-
Depends, what mounts have you got on you frame and fork? Do you have experience of using disk/maggy, any preference you already may have?
-
Ebay is probs the best place to get a bargain. You should ride both kinds of bike though, first just so it gives you a feel for them, you never know, you might prefer mod over stock! Don't worry about weight, it's probably better to learn on a heavier bike as once you change/upgrade to a lighter bike it'll make your riding better and probably be much stronger meaning you won't break as much stuff (first bike)!
Submitted a valadation vote for you and hey presto, it must have been number 5 as you're now validated! You should have a gander around the for sale section once you have decided what type of bike you want to get as there are often quite a few bargains
Enjoy the forum!

i had one, and its not as if there that weak, you can ride street perfectly fine
just dont be stupidly aggresive with it and you will be fine
Yeah, thats what I was kinda getting at. Didn't mean its only for comp
-
Like the green/white
What are you doing with the Zoo! frame now?
-
Probs due to it being made out of the K-124 material. It's only meant for the highest level of competition really, not street bashing!
Regarding depreciation, I reckon its due to its specialist nature, its only really suitable to a minority of trials riders.....

Nice! Are the chainstays circa 360mm? Kinda hard to tell from the pictures lol.
Anyway, AkiraShock! If you're after an 09' Python, Pm Zain Wang on here, pretty sure he can get them imported pretty cheap............

Most sprung tensioners are very similar to the cage section on a derailluer. They attach to the mech hanger and apply force downwards on the chain to create tension. There are other tensioners available like the Echo unit that is just a single aluminium bar with one jocky wheel that fits in the dropout/axle and uses that as the pivot to provide tension.

Did you unpack the box from the wrong side? That never helps
-
The key, I've found is having a light to medium sharp grind. Had my pads about 8-9 months riding once or twice a week on average and they are about a third worn? (and that includes a bit of sanding just to keep them perfectly square as they wore at a very slight angle once or twice) Hope this helps you!
-
Hmmm, take the wheel off and then remove the tyre/tube and try and straighten out the bend, then have a tweak with the spokes to try and true it as much as possible......

Nice bike. If its not too much trouble, could you measure the wheelbase/chainstay length and also the axle to crown height of your forks for me please, very interested to know the real world geo measurements of these frames! Cheers![:)](https://www.trials-forum.co.uk/uploads/smile.png)
