What kind of riding are you doing? Street/tgs, comps etc? What is it that you don't like about your current frame? Based on these factors along with which brakes you plan to run are a big factor in frame choice. Perhaps you want a slightly longer frame for more static moves or something more flicky and agile for more comp based moves? Have a look on tarty or google and look into the geometrys of different frames that you like and try to get an idea of what would suit your riding then you can refine your search from there!

If the material is coming out of the backing, rough up the lugs that sit in the backing then put a couple of spots of superglue on them. Reassemble and place in a vice for a few mins. Job done .

I think as the economic climate worsened circa '08> it was deemed to be un cost effective to be running all 5 of the companies (GU, ZOO!, Echo, Czar and Adamant), hence the two brands being carried, Echo and ZOO! as they are more widely known??? Anyway...... To see if you have the long version, you'll need to measure the REACH (centre of bb shell to centre of the top of the headtube) this will determine it as it will be the construction of the frame that differs in frame length, if you get what I mean? About picking a new frame, a bit of advice I can give is to look into the REACH length. Although wheelbase does matter, the reach is often overlooked, but is a vital measurement. I was riding an 06 Python running a 1055-60mm wb and now run an 08 GU Typhoon. The new wheelbase measures 1035-45 (off the top of my head) but, because the reach is 15-20mm longer on the GU, it feels just as long as the Python despite the wheelbase being shorter. Coupled with shorter chainstays, the GU feels a lot more flickable to ride!

Its not uncommon for the older deng frames to work out longer than they state. My 06 Python measured 1055-60mm with Echo Lites, even though it was advertised as 1045mm lol. The Trialtech forks are slightly taller than most forks, thus pushing your front wheel further forward, do you know that you have the LONG frame for definate? To check, measure the distance from the centre of the bottom bracket shell to the centre of the headtube. According to T-UK, the short frame is 595mm and the long 610mm. Hope this has helped!

I say 1 can. I've still got a fair bit of mine left after stripping a MTB frame, numerous 26" rims, a set of forks and a car bumper! As long as you use it sensibly and not waste any it'll last ages! Colour wise, I have my GU's all black (one with silver rims) but silver is also a safe colour. Just go with what you want and experiment, after all, you can always strip it if you change your mind!

Definately worth it. I have SL clamps and would never go back to plastic washers! My friend bought the ones you linked to. Pretty much no difference and the shipping from Poland only took around 4 days!

If you do decide to go Hope, get yourself on ebay. I bought an 05 (all black/silver bore cap) one that is the 180mm model for £50. Currently running it on a mod and its insane! The bite is incredible and the hold, just as good. Compared to the newer style (which I have on my 26") the older one feels more powerful. The modulation is also great which makes it very easy to roll down stuff, and control the bike for front end moves. My current set up is all standard (lever/pads/disk) with the only modification being the fork disk tabs being faced to allow the caliper to sit fully perpendicular to the disk Hope this helps (sorry for the pun )
