  1. From Wikipedia: Moulting can involve the epidermis (skin), pelage (hair, fur, wool), or other external layer. In some species, other body parts may be shed, for example, wings in some insects. Examples include old feathers in birds, old hairs in mammals (especially dogs and other canidae), old skin in reptiles, and the entire exoskeleton in arthropods. Get the stapler ready. You may need it.
  2. Hi all, It's not an official portfolio or anything (because I'm too lazy to actually make a web site), but have updated a few images on my Flickr slideshow. Take a look and hope you like. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7691856@N06/show/
  3. Hahaha, I work in an office AND draw. As far as 'real' work, had plenty of that too. Years of warehousing, truck and rail car loading. Commercial food equipment delivery and installations (ranges, giant refrigerators and freezers etc). I've had enough of f**king real work. I'd rather draw. I'm sure others have me beat though. Warehousing is 90% boring. Thanks for the nice comments! :Edited for seplling:
  4. Sweet start! I'm just dipping into web stuff, still. Never seem to get around to it even though staying on top of stuff = job security for me. In any case, I like where you're going and getting your designs out there is important. Good job! Something to consider would be designing center loading pages these days. Left side is slowly getting kicked to the curb as really wide monitors are becoming the norm. Not that big a deal, but it might make someone 'in the know' notice the attention to detail. Cheers!
  5. Hi all, Just hammered out a fun illustration for a story about how families are making their own 'fast-food-style' meals at home to save a few fat grams and lots of money. Hope you like the idea. Needs many more details, but the turn around time on this one didn't allow for that. May go back and clean it up a bit for a portfolio piece. Cheers!
  6. Interesting. I like that you can just load the bike up on it and go. I wonder if it could be set up to make near perfect lines that are perpendicular to the rim face... hmmmm.
  7. I agree, if you're into keeping your investment in nice shape, then go for it. Personally, I don't care for the blue zip ties though.
  8. Superior! Although I couldn't ride a fraction of it.
  9. I'm not much for being photographed. Cameras steal my soul.
  10. Sounds like fun! I'd love to be able to join you guys. I'm a big fan of long distance rides, especially when you make them harder than they need to be for the challenge.
  11. Suppose just being a competent well-rounded rider in both natural and urban surroundings would really be my dream. Winning a little plastic trophy at some fun comp would be nice too. Hugh Hefner could sponsor me too, if he wanted. Just send the girls.
  12. That is good news. It probably wouldn't have been so pretty had I confronted some lying maggot for swiping my stuff. Glad you got it back though.
  13. I've emailed durkie before, I think. There are some riders in Charlotte, NC too. Just tough to get free weekends to travel. I am planning on getting out there for the October thing. My GF's cabin in the NC hills is only about 2 hours from Chattanooga. I'll give it a go, just save the laughter for when I'm not within earshot. Hehe
  14. A tapeworm. No, wait... not really an animal is it? Something with a fancy tail, like a lemur.
  15. Yes, I noticed my error after the fact. I'd say the novice level is what I'd be shooting for, which I'm noticing would probably be the sport class over here. Gonna watch the video in a few minutes. Thanks for help! =) ...Edit after watching... Yeah, the first video is what I was looking for, just so I know what to expect. It has become painfully apparent that I still have some work to do. Hehe. The bike getting stuck on that red ladder thing was pretty funny. Probably not at the time, of course, but looks like something I would get myself into. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Well, budget aside, are you used to riding XC or BMX or neither? I started on mod and am about your height. I came from an XC background and picked mod for some unknown reason. Not a bad choice, by any means, but turns out I took to a stock better based on my previous experiences. Doesn't mean you will, but it might be a good direction. Also search this topic. Lots of good info and varying opinion to be found. I've seen some serious tanks make good on mod. Just not my found comfort level. Cheers!
  17. So, true. My old fart experience won't change anyone's mind, but here goes... From years of skateboarding, the worst crashes always seemed to happen when rolling slowly. Nothing could happen, right? Well, being bulletproof, 17 and stag-confident, we always met our match after a good day of hucking stairs and loading docks, whatever. Gingerly pace, talking sh!t and whatnot. Then someone would inevitably hit a small stone, monkey ball or whatever. Smack! It always happened when you'd not be expecting, which made it worse. That's the beauty of it. Concrete always wins regardless of your inhuman experience. Go for the no helmet approach, I really don't care. Your life. Just promise me you're an organ donor so we can get in the lottery for your left overs. Hehe. =p
  18. Damn, I'm stuck on squares. What the hell? Must be cause I'm a yank... There's a formula of sorts on here somewhere. Try the search. It's come up before. Cheers!

  20. Hi all, I'd like to attend a competition one of these days and was wondering if someone could post pics (or direct me to pics) of something I might come across in the sport class. I believe that would be the next step above the beginner level. Correct me if I'm wrong. Ultimately, I'd like to set something up that's similar in my yard so I can practice lines and things that would be pretty 'real world,' if that makes sense. Thanks!
  21. Even though I don't like wearing them, I do. I buy pretty expensive helmets and spend a good bit of time trying various brands on for fit and comfort. Some may argue, but I think my brain is worth the investment.
  22. I've seen people creatively carry some pretty ridiculous things on motorbikes. That said, and I'm no help, but there's only one way to find out. Send pics when you get it ready to go. =)
  23. Hi all, I have been considering switching to a freehub over my FFW setup on my stock. Currently running Meta TCS 170mm cranks with their supplied bash. Echo 135mm fixed rear hub with 16t (spin on) and a Tensile 18t FFW. I am wondering if there are any real advantages to switching over and what issues I may have with the bash and replacing the front sprocket. Would there be any spacing issues or a problem with the cranks? I'd also rather not run a tensioner if I can help it. Any input would be most welcome. Lemme know if there's anything else you'd need to know about. Thank you!
  24. It's illegal in my state and I've no idea on the consequences should I get picked up, but I do occasionally cycle whilst zooted. Good times!
