Nostradamus. +1 million to Guns n Roses.
  2. My Raven weighs in at 11.28kg. Works for me and seems pretty bulletproof.
  3. Give it a few days to heal proper. Continue to wear gloves and if calluses form, keep them ground down with a nail file or soak your hand in warm water for a while and use a razor to carefully remove the extra skin. If you ride a lot, you may have to do this once a week. Hope that helps. Search for this topic too, probably lots of extra advice about that here somewhere.
  4. Baa height is still my fave so far. Why did the trials rider have to get checked for STDs? It was from all the hooking up.
  5. Without rewriting the wheel, so to speak, here's what he's talking about Jordan. Follow links to black hats etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_hat We had a security assurance employee working at my building, both full time and his favorite hobby... scary stuff in the wrong hands, but a great tool when employed to test what's in place and make your defenses stronger. Anyway, check it out. Hope that helps a bit.
  6. Just some ideas that have helped me... I hung out at my LBS and helped out on small stuff. Learned lots, gained their trust and now they let me help out on all kinds of stuff when they're busy - and I get to use their tools on my bikes. Another good way of learning is to find beaters or trashed bikes. Any kind. Take them apart, put them together again, figure out how it works. If you mess them up, who cares? You'll quickly run into things you need special tools for and - over time - you'll begin to add these to your collection, but in no time you'll be pretty good and more experienced.

Celebrities. Andy Warhol. Blogs. +1 for the internetz.
  8. By car, 12 minutes give or take. By road bike around 28 minutes average if I hurry - usually don't. Although my favorite way to work is my SS 29" mountain bike. I usually go all over the place and ride down stairs and around the library and downtown area and such. Sometimes I'll tack on an extra hour just riding all over the map having a good time.
  9. Big fan of ODI's Ruffian locking grips. Grippy, light and never ever move.
  10. Haven't heard anything new. Hopefully it'll be back soon. I like both of these places. Oh, and a hearty LOL at all the haters from both sides. Always makes me smile!
  11. Welcome aboard! And if you haven't seen it already... http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=145719
  12. I believe. The aliens told me so.
  13. Without seeing a full screen shot or knowing which selection tool you used to make the selection it looks like you might have the feather on way too high. Try setting feather to zero.
  14. OOHHH GOD THEY'RE HIDEOUS!!! gimme the eye bleach, QUICK! IT BURNS! Hehe, actually they're cute little devils!
  15. I agree. It doesn't make much sense to me, especially since most everyone is all over this global warming bandwagon.
  16. Just hang it on your wall in some fashion. Tell them it's "art."
  17. It was pretty funny. Some of the replies were good although 90% of were just laughs or BS. The photoshopping was so bad it made it funnier. Worth a look, I'd say, although 105 pages? Those folks must be bored. They should go buy bikes.
  18. Some more cartoony stuff from me. Really had to rush, as I have too much more important stuff to be working on, but hope you like.

Great idea and design! Didn't vote though because I didn't want to sign up.
  20. That's true. they even validated me - and it's not just because I smell like flowers.
  21. +1 to what DH said. And avoid WD-40. It's not really a lubricant, contrary to popular belief. Get you a cheap bottle of chain lube when you can.
  22. My balance has always been lackluster. It's my belief that balance can be learned through patience and practice. Trackstanding on flat is pretty tough for just about everyone when they start out. Concentrate on keeping your movements small rather than on the balancing part. Let your brain learn to handle that without you having to actively think about balance all the time. Another thing that helps me (especially with trackstands, is to focus on an object in front of me, like a mark or pebble or something like that, then I just let my legs and hips relax and do what they need to to keep me upright. Edit: (Oh and another thing that made a difference (may or may not apply for you depending). I had a cheap FFW that had maybe 30 engagement points. Once I replaced it with a better one with double the clicks, it made a huge difference as I hardly had to lean into the pdeals to get them to click into place. I don't know if that really makes sense, but hope you get what I mean). Hope that helps you out. It will get better quickly if you keep at it and stay loose.
  23. White and orange sounds good to me too. I have a plan in the works for white frame with a metallic copper front end/forks/front rim. You can get some cool colors from some of the auto supply stores.
