  1. So why didn't you want to hit it with a hammer? Bear in mind that if you mushroom the end of the 116 axle you may have a job getting the bearing off without filing it back first.
  2. Tighten a bolt into the end of the axle first (right in so the bolt head is flush with the axle end) so you're not hitting the aluminium axle directly.
  3. You're not missing much. Poor quality phone video on a narrow back road spinning up the wheels and eventually losing it fairly gently at about 10mph without hitting anything too hard.
  4. You might be lucky for a while with a new/stretched chain but really you'll need a tensioner. I initially ran my mk1 with a 74Kingz (Heatsink these days I guess) and currently run a Rohloff on my 2011. Spoke tensioners depend on your setup really. I had a look at putting one on my Pro2 setup and couldn't really see it working as everything's a bit tight.
  5. You sure it's not your network settings? Someone set up a static IP that isn't compatible with your router or something? Also run msconfig and see what sort of crap is running in the background. Hide Microsoft services and see what else is going on.
  6. Haven't read the whole thread so sorry if it's been said... Grinding rims makes your bike lighter every time, this will surely add weight...
  7. I think that's the biggest issue in my mind- the fact that he spent so long playing the golden boy swearing he would never use anything when all the time the lying cunt was cheating his was to the top every step of the way. The bastard clearly has no morals and is a disgrace of a human, let alone 'athlete'. The people and papers etc. he sued who tried to uncover the truth is unbelievable for that alone he deserves to lose everything.
  8. Loving the story about the Australian bookshop who put a sign up saying they would shortly be moving all Lance's books to the fiction section! Classic.
  9. I dunno actually- the shell body looks the same shape as a Pro2 which would indicate internals... in which case I'll get back in my box
  10. But it's just a fixed hub. The thread is trying to get a Pro2 freehub to work on a mod. A hope fixed hub will be no different (except more expensive) than any other. Nice touch with the sprocket mounting but still not a Pro2.
  11. It depends how the tyre is measured. If the carcass is the same but you've now got an extra 5mm of tread depth then that might be enough to make a difference. When my folks put winter tyres on their Nissan Juke it caused the ABS to play silly buggers because the wheel circumference was different enough to screw up the wheel speed sensors.
  12. That's not quite the same though...
  13. I think it's more temperature related. If you use them on hot roads in the summer then yes but if it's on cold winter roads no. Together with chunkier tread they're just a different compound which doesn't need any temperature to operate. Snow tyres should be narrower with deep blocky tread, winter tyres are in between in the blockiness front but designed more to run on cold tarmac rather than snow (I think).
  14. I want one of those radio controlled UAV camera things!
  15. Chains are (I imagine) a hassle to get on and are great for the 100 feet needed to get off your drive, after which chances are you're going to be on a gritted black top road which will kill chains (or socks). I'd say they're only good if you live in the highlands or somewhere like Sweden.
  16. I don't understand the pic in 1999... In that you look like a giant (pardon the pun) or are you just sitting in a dolls house?
  17. Pretty sure Kenny wasn't the one bitching about the frame...
  18. But it's relative. Sure he helped the charities using his profile but also pocketed tens of millions of dollars in sponsor money, winnings, legal action and who knows what else. I would love to see him taken through the courts, bankrupted and made sure that he can never compete in any sport ever again. Him and the many people in the background who made it happen- all the dodgy doctors, coaches and whatnot.
  19. Ah sorry yeah, 1/20th is the Tamiya non die cast size isn't it. I did a Senna MP4/4 and a Senna 87 Lotus 99T in my yoof, plus a 1/12th '75 Ferrari 312T before moving on to radio controlled cars!
  20. The force being applied to the chain is the same but for the wider chain (with wider rollers) that force is spread over a very slightly larger area.
  21. 1/12th, 1/18th or something else? Lotus 72 fo' sho. Best colour scheme ever, engine on show, in yer face aero and massive sticky slicks on the back.
