  1. Are they WTB Velociraptors in a couple of the pics? That's what my '98 GT Backwoods (very first 'trials' bike) came with! Yeah I ran El Gato's for a while because they were 'trials specific' apparently but they were indeed a bit pants! Red sidewalls though...
  2. I assumed that's what they'd do but no, they did something completely irrelevant. Do dirt have those articles online? Would be interesting to see (and yes I will now go and google it myself!).
  3. That stem! Needs to be about 100mm shorter! You need to get some IRC Missiles or El Gato's on there too, ooh and a DCD. Looking good though!
  4. That was just one big sales pitch so Specialized can sell more 29ers. Some very questionable physics and mainly biased opinions with little or no support. Vids were one sided and pointless.
  5. What's the deal with health and the smoking element? My little understanding is that anyone who smokes dope is smoking it together with tobacco so are there still problems with health down the road purely due to the fact you're putting shit in your lungs as with standard death sticks?
  6. I think it's more that he's riding a Freed which is effectively a budget £849 complete and he's riding it in a way we expect from a £2k+ top end bike.
  7. Yeah registered as well. Stangely you text 'Register' to 112 then it asks you to confirm by sending 'Yes' to 999...
  8. From a business point of view, I'm surprised that he hasn't got more of a clue with regards promotion and the likes. From what I can tell his dad kind of created a Coustellier brand long before the brothers were at the top of their game so it's kind of odd that the brand and promotion of it wasn't pushed on him as well. As has been said, his riding is obviously immense but to make a career from trials (rather than just be successful in a competitive sense) I would have thought they'd understand the importance of promotion. Is Usain Bolt any less of an athlete because he does Virgin ads? Is Kenny stupid to have Red Bull sponsorship through self promotion (via his training) when he could've been in the woods on his own shouting at a rock that he's struggling to get up? I don't think so.
  9. Hehe, fair enough. I'm surprised you didn't have to take the end caps out to tap them. Euan's system looks nicely made but not exactly featherweight!
  10. Cheers for that- certainly never heard about the SMSing thing. Similar to Sam- as someone who spends a fair amount of time messing about on the hills it's good to know.
  11. Funny but sad seeing Hobbsie in the Others section. Phones 4 U
  12. Ah fair enough. Bing made me think you'd done something with the standard caps but I didn't think that'd work.
  13. But, but... front Pro 2's don't have an axle. Surely if you tap the QR adapters you're just attaching each fork leg to it's respective QR adapter while not actually bolting the two sides together...
  14. Haven't been for about 7 years probably because my registered dentist is in North East Scotland and I've basically been living in the South of England since 2001. Need to register down here but in no hurry!
  15. Hey dude, yeah that's pretty much it- if it does have those multi-toothed pawls I'd be wary of them for trials until it'd been tested and proved! Combined with people I know having bad experiences with the standard MTB hub I'd be staying clear myself.
  16. Interesting. Still think they look stupid. I'm sure they function great in a lot of circumstances but they do look odd.
  17. Yeah, not sure I'd trust that for trials.
  18. Don't know much about the Elite's but I know the old standard Profile MTB hubs were not to be trusted for trials...
  19. Well they're just stupid if they hated their 29" test rides yet bought them. You must be a hell of a salesman.
