When you think of the number of people running for charities and stuff it's just f**king sickening that the c**ts are willing to do shit like this in the name of their country/religion or whatever.

2 dead 23 injured. Was 'hoping' it might've been something explainable like a gas explosion but seeing the video it certainly looks like a bomb blast. Odd that it went off 3 hours after the winners came through- you'd think for maximum damage they'd time it differently... London Marathon on Sunday too... I bet the organisers are now seriously reconsidering security measures.

But it's not 'creative design' it's completely retarded and a massive waste of resources (the stupid plastic parts that is). Oh wait, that's all these arty farty creative design types do isn't it? Carry on.

Superstar Floating Discs, Anyone Used Them?
monkeyseemonkeydo replied to isitafox's topic in Trials Chat
I concur. Part of the point of floating discs is to lose heat quicker but that's not a problem in trials. Trials also puts a lot of high torque forces into a disc and I can just imagine the rivety things clicking away to themselves nicely as they eat into the softer alloy spiders. They're also heavier than normal discs... look pretty though. -
debating.. keep my echo 24", or to buy dual disc mod?

Tell that to the carbon brushes on a motor... -

Welded carbon. It's the future... -
I think you can pretty much blame the whole thing on the lazy good for nothing trade unions. They were the ones who killed the industries and although she was rather vicious she stuck to her guns and followed through. On the Falklands thing it's a real shame that stupid Argentinian cow does fall off a cliff... The recent vote by islanders was a total whitewash and they still come out with bollocks about how they're being ruled by a murderous dictatorship. Aregentina can go f**k itself as far as I'm concerned- same as when they decided to invade during Maggie's reign of terror.

They're pretty good- should be tucked out of the way and allow for some spring if you do contact it. I only killed my (real) 74Kingz by getting my jeans caught in my freewheel which snapped the springs and I lost the plastic block bit. Rowan used to run his upside down (so increasing chain wrap) which seemed to work well for him though I don't know if he modified it to make it work or if he was just lucky with chain length and dropout design.
-
I think maybe if Steve had done something, anything, to make it different to the 74Kingz maybe people would take it on it's own merit but it's an exact replica. I know there's not too much freedom when dealing with a bent bit of metal, some spring steel and a plastic lump but it's exactly the same. Work quite well though- just bought one off Darren Hill (no freaking way I was spending £30 for one new) and the first thing I did was remove the sticker...

I've done it a few times by bolting the tool to the cranks then putting a large adjustable spanner on the tool. If you can arrange the assembly so that the crank and the spanner make an obtuse triangle with the floor (so that when you apply a downward force on the freewheel the spanner will work to undo the freewheel) then stamp on the freewheel it can be enough to break the 'seal' without using a vice. Used the technique three or four times over the years and usually works. Just be sure to wear some sturdy shoes so you don't stab your foot with the teeth of the freewheel!! Edit:

Not really much point getting one to ride (terrible geometry by today's standards, heavy, weak, poor brakes etc. etc.), or as an investment (not really worth anything and value is never going to rocket). Only to own a piece of history... which is a bit pointless unless you like that sort of thing and have a massive garage to hang it in.

And to set the tension you need to loosen the small pinch bolt (4mm Allen key if memory serves me correctly), increase the preload (that is the position of the lower arm relative to the upper) then tighten the pinch bolt back up. Put the chain back on and you should have increased tension.

I know lots of people think he should be suspended but that F1i article is the only thing I've seen that says that Red Bull are actually going to do it.

Can't see anything anywhere else online... April fools?

I think it would be a crap reason to try and stop 3D printers becoming mainstream though. Although these guys are distributing the CAD for the firing mechanism I doubt many people would be able to gain access to printers accurate enough and with the correct material properties to make even that component work. From what I can see it's not really printing guns anyway- you have to be able to buy all the other parts of the rifle that the component firs into...

Really? A car is for many a necessity but a reliable car that'll last for years can be bought for a couple of thousand. Even if you can theoretically afford it there's no benefit to buying a £20k car on finance when you could probably get the same model but 5 years old for £4k. That's clearly not possible with a house and unlike with a car you can't get the same thing for £10k as you could for £200k. Even then finding £10k isn't easy for everyone. Student loans I can see- if I hadn't been so lazy and got a job I could've maybe scraped by at uni but I would still have to have been subbed by my parents. These days if you want to go to uni you have to end up in debt pretty much so again it's unavoidable...

To be fair though it's never sensible to buy a new car full stop... Is the benefit of having a 'new car smell' for a month worth losing 20% of the cars worth the second you drive it off the forecourt? Unless I was stinking rich (Tomm- I'm surprised you're not looking at private helicopters rather than a Z4!) I don't think I could bring myself to buy a proper new car. For the record, I'm also a finance-phobe. I've been brought up to pay off credit cards at the end of the month and save up to buy anything. Only ever paid cash for cars and bikes etc. and apart from the mandatory student loan and mortgage have never entered into any finance agreement.

What, you don't carve your meat with an AK-47? Sheesh I thought everyone did that. And Ross- I don't think that even the f**ktards in America have full on army spec artillery guns in their homes. Surely the gun you describe is unlikely to be used in the near future for killing school kids?

The Stealth Paint kit looks interesting too...

It kind of reminded me why I can't wait for the MotoGP season to kick off. Pretty much no team orders, far more overtaking and they tend to look like they're actually having fun rather than being overpaid corporate schoolboys fighting amongst themselves...

Seriously? I'd have said Brazil last year was maybe a little more entertaining?... Sunday's race was just a bit 'meh'. Anything that happens in the pits doesn't count, Alonso was in the first two laps (oh how I laughed), Mercedes team orders were embarrassing to watch and Red Bull's were a little more entertaining but same old, same old.

If we all leave all our fridge doors open will we reduce the global temperature and save the polar bears?

Loved Alonso disappearing into the gravel at the start of lap 2. What did he expect to happen? Feel sorry for Nico and Mark...
