  1. Same. At work we run a dual monitor system but with one in landscape and one in portrait and that occasionally catches me out when the cursor is stuck too low on the portrait one to make it across to the landscape!
  2. How long does it take to get the mouse cursor from one end to the other? Also, if you pop out for a cuppa and forget where the cursor was, what's the longest it's taken you to track it down?! Seems crazy to me.
  3. That's my educated guess . Edit: From a knowledgeable sounding dude on vintage-radio.net And from answers.yahoo:
  4. Diagram time. Because the individual phases drive the individual stators (?) if you knock one out of the loop the motor should continue spinning (though possibly less smoothly than before) but with load it will be more likely to lose speed and stall.
  5. Another guess here (I probably should know but don't) is that the remaining two phases continue to turn the motor at the same speed as it was before (assuming it's not under much load) but it would subsequently have less torque available and would be more likely to stall.
  6. Cool beans, cheers Mark I may have just bought Dave Barratt's first dual disc 24" Marino frame for a bit more of a bouncy bike (on a budget) and have no idea what sort of ratio is required for this natural/TGS type riding malarky!
  7. There's a reason the feds were after these guys. We've seen video of them at the marathon with backpacks on (I imagine these have been at least partially matched to the remnants of the bomb blasted bags or they have video of them leaving without the bags. Regardless they carried on to murder a policeman, hijack a car, get in to a gun fight with police and throw bombs at them then the remaining dude hid from the police then had another gun battle with them. I don't know about you but that's exactly what I'd have done if I was in there situation and completely innocent. Oh no, wait, that's the opposite of what I'd do. The proof isn't that they ran the proof is that they were armed and ready for a siege situation and were quite happy to kill a policeman and attempt to take the lives of many others maintain their freedom. Even if they aren't the bombers (which I expect they are/were) they have proven that they're murderous c**ts who deserve whatever punishment the law wants to deal out.
  8. But that's part of it- by claiming so completely that the atrocity was caused by the Government it turns the/ whole thing into a mockery. I would imagine what the families want is justice and some idea why the nutters did what they did and if conspiracy numpties have their way that would simply never happen. Edit; to JD.
  9. Bloody hell, you're actually serious? Wow. The only link to what happened is the fact that the episode used the Boston Marathon as the basis and seeing as it's an American series it was only ever going to have been the Boston or New York marathons so Seth had a 50% chance of foreseeing the future. So yeah, I don't really think any further explanation is needed as to why there's a Family Guy episode that mentions the Boston Marathon...
  10. Really like that- very slick and professional looking but then I don't expect anything less from you boys!! Edit: One thing that would be cool to see in a future edition would be a bike check for the various rides maybe with some comments from the boys about the choices of components etc. Anyway, awesome work
  11. Most interesting thing about that is that he was last seen on there today at 5.04am via mobile... Is the guy in the video his dead brother?
  12. That's the stupidest thing you've posted yet. So now you're saying Seth MacFarlane was in on the bombings? You're just digging a deeper hole now...
  13. What, you mean a public outcry, search of CCTV and photos to try and sus out who placed the bombs then a massive manhunt to chase down said suspects? The dead policeman at MIT and the car chase is a little Hollywood but if you've done something like this you're never going to go quietly so some kind of chase/showdown is to be expected too. So extremist Muslim Chechens done it... are they on the CIA books or are they actually shapeshifting lizards?
  14. If I had the money to burn I'd probably get one just for the sake of it. Will be interesting to see how they last in the real world.
  15. That's not how it works though. Do they make all people entering the country at Heathrow/Gatwick/Dover etc. sign a contract saying they agree to adhere to the laws of the country? Nope, the fact they're in the country means they're expected to follow the laws of the land. Same with being born here. As a person living in the UK you are governed by the laws of the country regardless of any worthless paperwork.
  16. Someone arrested in connection with bombings. I'm guessing he won't be an active CIA or FBI agent... Edit: Police are now denying the report.
  17. And again, how stupid do you take the FBI to be (they are Americans after all) to stage such training exercises before carrying out attacks for real? The concept is laughable. Hide in plain sight- is that a motto of the FBI?
  18. But that makes zero sense. If you assume that the FBI are planning to bomb the marathon why would they be playing with explosives in the vicinity? Having said that the only place I've seen mentioning that connection has been on conspiracy type sites so... You're seeing conspiracy's where there isn't one (in this case). And the whole slave thing gets really old really quick. I'm quite happy with life in general. I'm not being told to be happy with what I've got, I'm genuinely happy. I'm free to do what the hell I like (though if I chose to set off an IED on the tube (which I imagine would actually be scarily easy) I'd expect to be treated like a terrorist and have the book thrown at me). So the people in power want more power and more money... good luck to them. So long as that doesn't affect me I don't really care. Jeez man, open your eyes!
  19. I'm not beyond reasoning I just don't respond to 'it's the evil corporations, maaaan' or 'open your eyes to what's happening'. What possible evidence is there that the Boston bombings had anything to do with the government? Because they did a terrorism response training exercise 2 years ago? Get real.
  20. We have to abide by the law which makes us slaves? That's shite. I'm pretty sure outside of TV there are very few normal citizens who have been mistreated under the anti terrorism laws. I'm glad there are laws like that around considering the number of retarded extremist people out there (mainly Muslim from what I can tell) planning to do nasty shit to normal people and their families. If the laws are used to stop some dodgy looking kids in London then fair enough- if they turn out just be on their way to the sweet shop there's nothing to worry about. We pay taxes which makes us slaves? Not really. As has been stated that money is used to provide all the services we expect for our lives, from the NHS to the roads to the emptying of our bins and the occasional invasion of an oil rich nation. For the most part our government are trying to do the best they can while trying to ensure they get voted in next time. Of course they are in it for themselves as well- it's human nature to be greedy and to try and get the best for yourself and your family, the problem with MP's is that they've been elected into power by their constituents and so are expected to put their personal desires aside to try and do a good job. Sometimes they get sidetracked by the desire for a new duckpond or another flat in London in the name of their pet gerbil. If one of my relatives were in the trade centre when it went down I'd just be more pissed off with the extremists involved. I know there were some things that didn't add up about that but I can' believe that any group of people (outside of the religious extremist nuts) could sleep at night if they were even partly responsible for an event like that. George Bush was president at the time and seeing as that twat couldn't find his way out of a lift without an aide I know he had bugger all to do with it. Those being slaughtered in Iraq/Afghanistan are being killed by their own people. There have been drone strikes in Pakistan etc. but for the most part (especially in Iraq) it seems like Saddam was actually keeping a lid on the sectarian violence that we're now hearing about on a weekly basis. He may have been a nasty b*****d who wiped out entire villages but in some respects he actually kept the religious extremist numpties from open warfare... Anyway, I'm all for a good conspiracy theory but stuff like this is just too far to even consider that it is orchestrated by 'them'. JFK for sure, moon landings are questionable but 9/11, Sandy Hook, Boston? Nah, that's the work of mentally unstable f**ktards.
  21. All good info, cheers guys. I think to start with I'll advise him to use a 135mm hub so it can be tested on 'normal' bikes before trying it on a proper DH rig.
  22. A friend of mine is looking to produce a prototype hub for DH which would allow the rider to change gear while freewheeling. He's pretty much sorted the mechanism but to make the prototype needs to determine what sort of axle system needs to be used to suit most DH rigs so a few people could give it a go. I'm guessing this is something along the lines of 150mm x 12mm (?) through but are any of you more familiar with the current 'standards'?
