Such a hard choice (inspired arcade news and info)
monkeyseemonkeydo replied to nicolasp1405's topic in Trials Chat
Not to continue an argument but in my mind over priced would mean an artificially inflated price to provide extra profit for the company. I reckon the actual markup on the bike will be almost identical to the markup on the whole Inspired range (and most likely a lot of other big bike firms). It's expensive because of the spec and also because of the expense put into the development (not just the manufacture) of the frame and forks. If you put all the components on a Marino then sure you could do the same bike for maybe £1300 but to get the level of attention to detail the Inspired gives, from dropouts, tensioners, fork down to cranks, bash/ring etc. you have to pay for it. Even the bars aren't just a rebranded catalogue item that has been specced for the Arcade which adds to the expense. -

Yeah that's it... It'd definitely be different but I don't know how it would alter the way I ride if you get me. On a related note, does anyone know how easy it would be to convert a 12mm through' axle rear Hope Evo to the standard 10mm bolt in jobbie? I'm guessing from looking on Tarty that it's an axle, end caps and bolts but are the bearings the same? -

It's basically whether it would be worth the change (as in would I really notice the difference) and also whether I'd be able to sell the Skye frameset (with axles/hub bits). The Skye does what I need it to do fine but there's something about the Arcade that I just 'get' (or want, I don't know)... Haha, cheers Mark -

Being liked has nothing to do with it. It's your arrogant, ignorant, aggressive asshole of a attitude that pisses everyone off. You wade in to every thread you can and start shouting about how unfair life is, how everything's too expensive/rubbish/poorly made etc. when everyone else knows you're talking out of your arse. On topic: I'm seriously torn with the Arcade... I've got the Mk1 Skye (which I'll be honest and say it doesn't get used nearly as much as it should) but the Arcade really does look really nice. Would probably get a frameset if I did it and just convert the Skye axles to suit but I'm properly undecided. -
I love it when they say in the safety briefing 'in the event of a landing on water'. Commercial aircraft do not land on water, they plummet and disintegrate into a billion teeny tiny little pieces. Also, I don't think I would be surprised by the figures about how many people carry parachutes with them on normal passenger flights. My guess would be approximately none and to be fair I would hope that security would stop anyone from flying who was carrying one because in my mind that would mean that f**ker is planning on leaving the plane mid-flight for some reason...

Yeah that's sweet! Need to get myself a welder and a base bike!

It's gotta have spoked wheels for me

Isn't it? The guy's done a few and has a 'how to' as well: http://nx650elsinore.blogspot.co.uk/2010/12/how-to-build-your-very-own-nx650.html

I really like the street tracker thing. If I had the time and money I'd love to attack a Honda Dominator:
-
That's half the fun though! Changing from a 3x to a 2x and 1x or radial setup purely because the spoke lengths weren't quite right!
-
Likewise. Try it first and if you need longer spokes get them.
-
Or get a 125 (or bigger) supermoto and have some fun!

What the f**k are you thinking?... On another note, I looked into the Cycle 2 Work scheme before getting my Ribble but because of the way they now work the system and how the final value system works now it just didn't seem worth the hassle. I ended up just getting the RIbble on 10 months interest free instead of fannying around with the C2W thing. Edit: Found something maybe a bit more becoming: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-wheel-battery-electric-tricycle-for-cargo-/281188113549?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item41781e1c8d You might want to add handlebar streamers to finish off the look but it's almost there.

3:41... just wtf?! Very impressive as ever- you look so comfortable doing it all, as has been said you area a brave dude! Fully committed all the way.

Yeah, I know what you mean and can understand Gilles' annoyance but seeing as he admits that he knew they were in a bad financial place for a long time surely he's guilty of not jumping the sinking ship... Just take a look at Koxx’s financial results in 2012 and before : the company was loosing a lot of money. And even with this bad financial situation, you kepts on scamming people. That doesn't sound like a company it's a good idea to continue to be involved with. Don't know where I'm leading with any of this just playing Devil's Advocate.

Ah fair enough, you could be right.

Absolutely but I would write a strong but formal letter indicating that I'd sought legal advice and would be seeking remuneration and compensation either from him personally or from the firm dealing with the liquidation. Particularly if I was going to put it online I'd be careful to keep it professional. Comments like "All of this really make me believe that the end of Koxx WAS PLANNED !" make him sound like Dave Anscombe is all. As an aside to this, how come prize money is paid to the sponsor and not the athlete? That seems a bit odd to me? Are they not given one of those giant comedy cheques on the day to take down the bank?

Mary-le-Port ('Mini Lloyds' & Castle Park) Redevelopment

Same here. -
Which is fair enough but there's being professional about it putting the point across while maintaining dignity and there's whining like a school girl!
-
Only just got round to reading Gilles' letter and to be fair he sounds a bit like a whiney school girl to me, though part of that is probably in the translation and edit. Having said that it was obvious that Dom isn't a total fool and would fold Koxx in order to start Koxx^2 (or hashtagg) afresh. It's what failing businesses do the world over...
-
Ah fair enough. Don't think I can help with anything at Soton Uni but off the top of my head have you looked into Roke Manor Research/Chemring Countermeasures? Assuming that's not where you've been for the past 9 years!

The way ours works is that if you've made overpayments you can then underpay to us up that 'credit' and also take payment breaks (not sure if those are linked to overpayments or whether you just pay a little more when you start paying again) but definitely worth investigating what they can do to help. Good luck with finding work too. What is it you do/have done?
-
Have you made any overpayments on the mortgage up until now? Any option to take a 'payment holiday'? If it were me I'd arrange to see my mortgage provider and explain the situation. It's not in their interests to let you default so will hopefully be helpful.
