Tighten the bolts more. Think of 5Nm more as a guide- I sure as hell have always tightened stem bolts to more than 5Nm...

Just to add my 2p I rented for a good few years (paying ~£650 per month) before buying a £198k 3 bed house back in 2010. Mortaged for £168k with repayments of ~£1150 per month (20 year mortgage). Probably couldn't do it on my own salary alone but with my wife's income as well it's fairly easy.

One point of note with the Moto G for anyone that's considering it is that it doesn't have an SD card slot so keep that in mind when purchasing. I didn't know this and just bought the 8GB (assuming I could throw my old 16GB card in it to expand the memory) but that's a no go so I'll resort to using Google Drive if needed.

For reference that value comes from the fact that bike chains have a 1/2" pitch (that is each pin is 1/2" or 12.7mm apart) so adding a half link extends the chain by 1/2" but because the chain wraps doubles up on itself to create a loop it actually alters the wheel position by half that or 6.35mm.
