  1. It was on like BBC Breakfast here, possibly on BBC South or something... Talking about cycling in Exeter. Was on BBC Breakfast here but not sure if it was region specific (I'm in Dorset). Dave
  2. Can I advise every person who reads this to click 'ignore user' regarding Pete? I have no idea if I've ever met him but the guys clearly a complete tw@t who should be banned from ever posting, even in NMC. I used to think it was amusing seeing the sh1t he posted but now it just annoys me and it's just screwing up the forum for the newbie's who actually want useful advice. Back on topic the Profile hubs are a few mm too wide to run in a Monty frame and if run without any mods are likely to put too much stress through the frame resulting in premature cracking around the chainstays. Stick to a Monty hub and you can guarantee it'll work and is designed to fit the frame. Dave

Bikes: Yamaha TDR125 2 stroke some random 125 4 stroke thing I did my CBT on Suzuki GS500 I did my direct access on Kawasaki ER-6N. Think that's the lot... I'm sure I've forgotten something
  4. That's absolutely insane. Also crazy is this... Why would someone pay money for a free email account address?!
  5. DOn't think I can do anything tomorrow but I'm thinking of popping into Soton today for a blast... Might be able to do something a bit more local tomorrow for a bit though. You ever been to Barton on Sea Brian? Dave
  6. Fackinell he's one ugly mofo!! Pretty sure I don't make any faces when I ride... more a look of concentration than anything I guess. Ok so I just had a look through my pics and found one that just about counts... Just about to come out of the end of a section at the Hook Woods national where my arms were seriously pumped and pretty sure I was doing this anaerobically from my expression! Off topic now... Teezr, just out of interest, is Alesund in Norway twinned with Peterhead in the North of Scotland? I've always wondered where it was!! Dave
  7. Daniel... don't think carbon forks would be a good idea for you... especially touring one's! I've got Brians mobile number though if you need to get in touch though. Dave
  8. One thing I don't understand though... I can understand the Iraqi people being a bit disgruntled over the 'Coalition' invading their country and so on BUT how come all these suicide bombings we see on the news in Iraq are in fact one lot of Muslim nutters blowing up hundreds of Iraqi people from a different arm of the Muslim 'faith'? You'd think they'd be aiming their attacks at the Coalition forces rather than continuing Saddams work doing their best to exterminate a religeous group which they have some stupid grudge against. No? On the religeon front I'm with Rich_87 here... I can see that religeon is basically an excuse for humans to be sh1t to each other but it seems to me that particularly Catholic vs. Protestant crap in the past and now Islam vs. the world today is an excellent reason to despise religeon of ALL kinds. Religeon = narrow minded retards who have been taught from a young age to be scared of free thought and making up their own opinions on the world, thrown in with a good dose of buggery in the case of chistianity and a few bombs in the case of Muslims. Kind of off topic but another thing is the fact that Muslims don't seem to be able to help making matters worse... remember all those riots after those cartoons in Denmark? How about that stupid teacher recently who tried to teach a class of 5 year olds (in a Church of England school!) effectively wearing a balaclava!! Question... did she wear it to her interview? Oh, she didn't? Lol Ah well, just my two p...
  9. Good to see what the (possible) sections are like at Worlds level- all I ever see are the ridiculously difficult elite guys getting up stuff that simply shouldn't be possible! Is that the Junior route you're riding? Which is the same as the Senior route...right? Good job Dave
  10. I was just checking the News section expecting to see something... soon?...
  11. Yeah Joe Seddon was who I meant. I didn't see him for most of the day but assumed he'd be riding well as usual. Ah well, maybe a 2nd place for me then? Looks like I may be sticking with 20" for a while!! Anyone want an Adamant 26"?!! Dave
  12. Lol. Ah well, it was good for me!! Expect Joe was on single figures too...
  13. I didn't actually see anyone with a camera there... Was my first outing on the 20" and had only ridden it a couple of times before so expected to really struggle. Actually rode surprisingly well and might even have been pushing for a win if I hadn't taken so many stupid 1's... unlikely though! Finished Expert on 12. Dave
  14. Well, the statement that we should of kept ourselves to ourselves doesn't really stand when you get a nutter like Saddam doing what he did. He basically left the civilised world no option but to take action. There's a touch of sarcasm in there but only a little. Just to clarify- by Shite's I mean the Shi-ite Muslims or which ever sub group he decided were disposable and subsequently tried to wipe them out.
  15. That was going fine until Sadam decided to start invading his neighbouring countries, masacreing a load of Shite's or whatever they were and then all these retarded Muslims started flying planes into buildings and bombing anyone who disagrees with their pathetic excuse for a religeon... They didn't give the US much option but to invade and steal their oil! On the execution thing, I see it as an easy option. They should stick him in solitary confinement for the rest of his life and throw away the key. Dave
  16. Can someone confirm that expert (Red route) will be run under BIU rules? Looking forward to this...so long as it's still going ahead with restricted access for setting up after Friday afternoon Dave
  17. After talking to Scott and his dad at the Hampshire today, it seems that UCI rules are a little anal... and although the following is taken from the UCI regs I doubt they really mean anything, particularly for the upcoming comp. "7.2.14 In choosing sections, it would be as well not to exceed following maximum jump heights (if it needs to be, the international panel may require this of the organizer): 20'': white: 0.60 metre maximum; 20” & 26”: blue: 0.80 metre maximum; green: 1.00 metre maximum; black: 1.20 metre maximum; red: 1.40 metre maximum; yellow: 1.80 metre maximum; Women: pink: 1.00 metre maximum;" In setting out the sections the organisers have to cater for a massive range of abilities, so the maximum step for any route will depend on what comes before it and after it and what actually makes the step. I know that doesn't help but just turn up, ride and have fun- don't worry about it! Dave
  18. One thing that really winds me up is the numpty's who say "Hope he falls and breaks his neck". Who do they think they are making a statement like that? Generally people are fairly oblivious to what I'm doing providing I keep out of their way. You'll get the odd old person tutting or shaking their head but are generally too scared to say anything! Then there's those who are genuinely interested in riding and ask sensible questions and think it's great. As has been said, the problem is those narrow minded people who think that having fun is bad and any hobby which isn't 'normal' must be the work of the devil. Leave them to think what they want and go about their sad existence and just keep riding!! Dave
  19. Yeah but last time I checked Rob was going to the gym for a few hours a day 5 days a week and bulking up like crazy!!
  20. Would do if there wasn't a Hampshire trial on in Bransgore... Have fun! Dave
  21. Ah but some muscle and raw power certainly helps to bypass flaws in technique!! Dave
  22. Ok so it's not really an optical illusion but look at this... Apparently children see a picture of dolphins since they have no concept of anything sexual. Whereas dirty minded sods have trouble finding the dolphins at all!! Dave
  23. you bas' ye Freddo... This one's even more freekay courtesy of Mr Ratcliff!
