  1. I watched it last night and was fairly pleased with the mix of throwback and continuation of the story.
  2. At least we me may see the end of the evil dinnerlady drawn by Quentin Blake now... She's even less photogenic than Trump.
  3. If Labour do at least close the gap in terms of seats I can see a non-majority government (is that a hung parliament? Can't remember) which I'm not sure would be better or worse...
  4. Can you not just run it like that with two right pedals until the new one arrives?
  5. It may turn out to be a bit of a mistake to be honest... M27 at 85 on them commuting could get a bit tedious! Having said that part of the reason of doing it is to make it a bit more laid back in terms of riding so I'm less likely to kill myself!
  6. The ER6 isn't mine, just an example of the sort of thing I'll end up with. Unfortunately I fitted the 150 tyre and I've ended up with 1mm clearance either side if I'm lucky . That won't fly... Will try and return the 150 if they'll have it back and arrange a 130 instead.
  7. Jeez, surely there's a better way to do that?!! For some reason I've decided that trying to turn my ER6 into a kind of Mad Max scrambler type thing would be a good idea... To that end I've got a pair of Metzeler Karoo 3's, 170 rear and 150(!) front. Think I may have to sack off the front and change it for a 130 though as I think I'll end up with like 4mm clearance either side on the forks (if I'm lucky) which I reckon won't pass an MOT and may be bloody dangerous... We'll see. I only paid £100 for the pair (brand new 170 retails at something like £180 and a part worn second hand 150) so not the end of the world if I have to mess about. Also spent a day at work welding up a tyre bead breaker so will be interesting to see if I can change the tyres myself!
  8. No, you'll pay 9% of £9000/12 so £67.50 which is a fairly small amount of money. In actual fact it's likely to be less because it's probably taken after salary sacrifice stuff, tax and NI etc. so it'll be less than £50 or thereabouts. I think. Edit: and even less with the £21k threshold Luke mentioned.
  9. University education shouldn't be just for the experience though. That only devalues the purpose of HE with thousands of people coming out after 3 years fannying around complete with a poor media studies degree and end up stacking shelves at Tesco... I think there's a distinct lack of money in the U18 education system which is shocking and apprenticeships ought to be really pushed as a direct alternative for people who may otherwise go to uni, even for more 'proper' subjects- software engineering, apprenticeships in high end engineering type firms (think Rolls-Royce, Airbus etc,) so that you don't need a degree and lose 3/4 years of your life before learning skills that are actually useful in the job.
  10. And if your other foot is down? Is that a 5?
  11. To be fair, his left foot was kinda just on the pedal... If I did that at a local comp I'd have blagged it and carried on!
  12. Yeah, that's the conclusion I've come to. Even if the Conservatives still win my seat if the majority is reduced and the gap is closed then it can only be a good thing.
  13. Not much help really but I nearly went down the Canyon Spectral Al 5.0 route before getting my Whyte but wasn't impressed with the response I got from their online help (they basically opened the website and copied and pasted what I could already see rather than answer my question) and the lead times to get a bike in a certain colourway put me off. Most people seem to be very happy wiht them but I chickened out in the end.
  14. I'm afraid this is a cycle trials forum so you won't ge too much help here, best to try http://www.trialscentral.com/. Having said that quite a few of us either used to or currently do ride mototrials so can help with bits and pieces. In terms of maintenance the primary things are regularly changing the oil, checking and cleaning the air filter, changing the plug occasionally keeping the chain in good nick and generally checking things like coolant (if it's water cooled), brake pads, chain tension, tyre pressure, head bearings etc. every so often. All in all they're pretty low maintenance though!
  15. That's one issue for me... I voted Conservative at the last election because David Cameron seemed less of a tool than Ed Miliband but now the Conservatives seem to be a bunch of complete c**ts and May looks like a witch. I kinda like Jeremy Corbyn but our area is very strong Conservative so to be honest there's very little point voting anyway! I think at the last election Conservatives got like 30,000 votes to 9,000 odd for Lib Dems who came 2nd (I think). It just all seems like a massive mess to me!
  16. All that thread showing on top of the carb doesn't look right to me... Surely that should be threaded in probably with a locknut of some sort and then the cable adjustment should just be on the adjuster at the top of the cable? The issues sound like they're related to the cable length and tension.
  17. Can you list some of the 80% things that you've said would come to pass that you've been right about? I can't think of anything sensible you've posted in the past 10 years...
  18. That looks surprisingly 'right'! Crank length would be the only obvious issue with that BB height and those wheels. And those tyres.
  19. Ribble roadie, khe bmx, arcade, echo 20, on one 26 hard tail, Whyte t130 full susser... Think that's it for now.
  20. Unless something goes wrong...
  21. I think the main problem is acting like a condescending twat while talking utter bollocks in a poor attempt at English. Sure intelligence shouldn't be referenced against spelling and grammar but you've got to see that having poor grammar and spelling for one indicates that maybe someone who could've done gooder at school and therefore potentially has gained most of their information from the internet. It also makes it hard for anyone to really read what you're trying to get across and when every sentence/random outburst ends in an exclamation mark it reduces what you're trying to say to an inane rant.
