  1. Are you running the cams on the inside or outside of the dropouts? On my Monty, I run the left one on the outside of the dropout and have to be careful to make sure that the hole in the cam locates on the axle end as I tighten the bolts. Otherwise the bolts just tighten the cam onto the end of the axle rather than clamping everything into the frame... does that make sense?
  2. This has been covered plenty of times before... from memory it doesn't appear to have much to do with anything i.e. left/right footed in football doesn't necessarily mean left/right footed for riding... Quick question for anyone who skate/snowboards, if your goofy footed, do you also ride your bike favouring the right foot forward? I'm right footed, am goofy (right foot forward on skate/snow) and also ride with my right foot forward but I think I'm in the minority there. Also sidehop to the left an spin to the left naturally as well.
  3. They're right... I didn't think it was the case either but there's the proof.
  4. Have another look... the dropout of the frame itself is quite clearly broken which can't be replaced.
  5. To be honest I'd never even consider putting 'fragile' on a bike frame in transit... because, well, they're not. That must've been cracked beforehand for it to snap while en route- no way an impact could've done that. Also, letters and stuff are sorted in big nasty machines but big packages like that will be carried around depot's and I expect won't go near any sorting machines. Edit: any chance of a close up of the fracture surface? Should be able to tell if it's been cracked for a while.
  6. Still like mine better Oh yeah and g-e-a-r-s...? What are they then?
  7. Did that really need a new thread Ash?! Calculators aren't that difficult to use
  8. Oh go on then. You're a bike whore! Edit: Really nice Ads, still silly light and just looks totally dialled. Loving the Hermance quote too!!
  9. I'd be very surprised if it was 'snaped' in the post... Ever tried 'snaping' a frame by just throwing it around in a box? Me neither but I bet it's hard. Edit: Note that I've had far more problems than most with Royal Fail and Parcel Farce and really can't stand them (except for Rowan of course, clearly the best postie in the world). However, in this case I'd be surprised if it was anything to do with them.
  10. Wicked riding as ever Nick, and vid had a really nice chilled feel to it. I really need to get to Koxx days somewhen don't I?!
  11. Anybody get any footage of the compulsary Paris street ride? From what I understand, in the Worlds it tends to be the other way round- Monty riders get let off with everything and anyone else has the rule book thrown at them... They couldn't have a Monty on the podium of Koxx days, now could they?!
  12. Damn, that's some jump between 4th and 5th! And I take it Kenny would've been 3rd if Benito had been given that 5 in the vids (or was that just during the quali's?).
  13. Wouldn't have thought that setup would cause a problem... Definitely use the spacer if you're using a 73 BB in a 68 frame, otherwise even if you cure the freewheel rub you could end up hitting brake cylinders with your cranks. Shouldn't make any difference to your current problem though.
  14. What freewheel and bash are you using? I know certain setups, like GU bash with an ENO doesn't work without grinding the centre of the bashguard down a bit (I've also had to take a bit off the freewheel tabs too). Wouldn't matter what size BB shell/BB you use, some setups just don't work without modification.
  15. Surely the crushing thing is for mini moto's causing a nuisance?
  16. No, just saying that your post made virtually no sense. Peace out.
  17. Awesome post. Just awesome. If I was you I'd write to the Chief Constable (or whoever) of the force who issued the NIP and explain what happened. Make a point that you're a motorcyclist and know how dangerous people are on the roads and that you've always worn your belt and certainly was on the day in question. If they don't back down just pay the fine (rather than bother with court etc- I take it points aren't involved) but if you can instill reasonable doubt in their minds they might just let you off. Oh yeah, and Bongo- where's this pic of the rats nest?!
  18. They run old school steel axles and cup and cone bearings. Ok if you look after them but I upgraded to a sealed one pretty soon after getting my Pr.
  19. Because all PCSO's have a total grasp of every minor point in British law... The only way to know for sure would be if you found the exact wording of the law in question. I was under the impression the wheel size law does exist, but to protect little kiddies on pink Barbie bikes from having to ride on the roads. I expect, though, that there is a statement in there somewhere indicating that this is not the case above a certain age.
  20. Now say it like you mean it
  21. It wasn't the only one- the mods were really on it this morning!
