  1. Is this what TRA will be riding now?
  2. If you typed the post on a computer (guessing you did) then you did have a calculator... not that you should need one for that anyhoo . Sorry, back on topic. I'd have thought that technically 0.99 recurring doesn't equal (i.e. ≠) 1, however it approximates to (very closely) therefore you would just replace the = with a squiggly = sign: 0.999... ≈ 1. Or maybe it should be a 'tends to' since the 0.999 stretches to infinity but never reaches it therefore 0.999... → 1. Edit: Anyone know the proper name for a squiggly equals?... You'd think maybe four years of aerospace engineering and 3 years of a postgrad in aerodynamics would teach you that sort of thing but aparently not
  3. It was in last years Kontest winner's vid I think and also in the 'out of section' mototrials freestyle vid. I think. I take it it's an unwritten rule that entrants must be riding a Koxx to stand a chance...? The vid (talking 'Poison' here) was ok, not bad riding but nothing special, music didn't really work for me but the editing was quite good, liked the intro/exity bits. Edit: Ok so I think Quackers might've watched last years winning vid rather than the Poison vid...
  4. Is any of this still happening? Don't think I'll be able to ride Poole but if you come back out to Verwood give me a shout. Maybe we could hit the north shore stuff by Ringwood for a giggle too...
  5. The previous silly topic was asking which was bigger, 3/32" (= 0.09375" or 2.38128mm) or 1/8" (= 0.125" or 3.175mm) in reference to chains...
  6. ... sorry, made me giggle! You've got some serious power there Danny- all good stuff However... to say that this is what trials is (was it Kearns that said that?) is wrong- as Mat Smith said, it's what trials has become to some people. In my head trials will always be about messing around in the woods and on rocks- street and the evolution thereof into TGS is simply a more accessible version of 'real' trials. Anyway, so long as you enjoy what your doing I have no issues whatsoever with any kind of riding. All the best fella.
  7. Damnit, why can't I find a picture of 'Bianca' from Eastenders in that pink tracksuit...? Ah well, Vicky'll have to do... girls in pink...
  8. Also with skateboarding, it's your rear foot that needs to be most coordinated I guess which makes it odd to have your weak foot at the back. I guess I started skateboarding when I was about 7 so it was more likely just the way I stepped onto the board the first time without ever considering goofy/regular...
  9. They're the same ones that are used on chainrings on 'proper' bikes aren't they? Some fine M10 or something...
  10. Edit: Ash editted the question.
  11. I'm with Inur and Rowan... He's obviously an incredibly talented rider but the video was just a bit... meh. Beacause of his skill he makes everything look easy but nothing there seemed to push him at all. Ah well.
  12. Are you running the cams on the inside or outside of the dropouts? On my Monty, I run the left one on the outside of the dropout and have to be careful to make sure that the hole in the cam locates on the axle end as I tighten the bolts. Otherwise the bolts just tighten the cam onto the end of the axle rather than clamping everything into the frame... does that make sense?
  13. This has been covered plenty of times before... from memory it doesn't appear to have much to do with anything i.e. left/right footed in football doesn't necessarily mean left/right footed for riding... Quick question for anyone who skate/snowboards, if your goofy footed, do you also ride your bike favouring the right foot forward? I'm right footed, am goofy (right foot forward on skate/snow) and also ride with my right foot forward but I think I'm in the minority there. Also sidehop to the left an spin to the left naturally as well.
  14. They're right... I didn't think it was the case either but there's the proof.
  15. Have another look... the dropout of the frame itself is quite clearly broken which can't be replaced.
  16. To be honest I'd never even consider putting 'fragile' on a bike frame in transit... because, well, they're not. That must've been cracked beforehand for it to snap while en route- no way an impact could've done that. Also, letters and stuff are sorted in big nasty machines but big packages like that will be carried around depot's and I expect won't go near any sorting machines. Edit: any chance of a close up of the fracture surface? Should be able to tell if it's been cracked for a while.
  17. Still like mine better Oh yeah and g-e-a-r-s...? What are they then?
  18. Did that really need a new thread Ash?! Calculators aren't that difficult to use
  19. Oh go on then. You're a bike whore! Edit: Really nice Ads, still silly light and just looks totally dialled. Loving the Hermance quote too!!
  20. I'd be very surprised if it was 'snaped' in the post... Ever tried 'snaping' a frame by just throwing it around in a box? Me neither but I bet it's hard. Edit: Note that I've had far more problems than most with Royal Fail and Parcel Farce and really can't stand them (except for Rowan of course, clearly the best postie in the world). However, in this case I'd be surprised if it was anything to do with them.
  21. Wicked riding as ever Nick, and vid had a really nice chilled feel to it. I really need to get to Koxx days somewhen don't I?!
