  1. It was in Portsmouth and the reason it was so big (rides rarely have such a big turnout) is because it's an annual ride in memory of a trials rider called David Jones (DJ or Deej) from near Oxford who was tragically killed by joyriders on the 14th May 2004. For those who wish to read more, have a look here. RiP Deej
  2. Was going to take a picture of the assembly before putting it in the frame but I was too impatient to see how it all looked! Because of the sleeve, the seat can be 'slammed' even more than my previous Federal seat/post combo so it really is win-win
  3. That's very easy to say but the truth is that the Monty B219 is part of the history of biketrials and is a beast of a bike, in the classical sense.
  4. I'm running the Simtra stem at the moment and have been getting on really well with it. However, am going to try a 90x20deg Easton EA50 stem just so I have something to compare to... will report back once I've used it for a while! Edit: run with Easton EA30 high rise bars.
  5. Yuh huh!! Was actually a bike for sale in here: link.
  6. Don't tell Dave but when I get the chance the post is going to be drastically reduced in length...
  7. The post is basically a fully slammable pivotal post (not the standard more bulky version) in which the post itself (the bit that goes in the frame) makes up a sleeve to make the post 27.2. So rather than being one forging, the pivotal part is pressed into the sleeve. Also has a nice Inspired logo on it but that's obviously hidden! Hope that makes some sort of sense. The head is like this Rather than this Do you mean drillings of the bike or just the seatpost Luke?! The bike's actually pretty darn light as it is
  8. Yup, they're the Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee's in the matching blue Trialtech t-shirts . Bless .
  9. Pictures on page 1 and 2 here. And sold it to Tipsy Jock who has some pictures here.
  10. From what you've said, it sounds like it was her being poorly prepared for your questions, not the other way round. Especially that second one. No one goes into a job thinking that they'll be in that exact position forever. So either she gave a crap answer or maybe the job isn't what you want, if you are looking to progress in the future of course...
  11. But there's a guy in Australia who spots several a year doesn't he? Nothing that special I thought. Boo.
  12. Already posted in the main forum but for anyone interested here's some pics of my Inspired Fourplay. Just need to get some white stickers from Tarty to finish it off. Also new is the 2.4 DMR Moto RT on the rear and a big shout out to Dave from Inspired/Trialtech for the Inspired pivotal saddle and (27.2) post which is sweet as and silly light! Comments welcome
  13. Cheers for the comments guys! I'm really pleased with it, Always loved the frame in white but have been having quite a few pics taken recently and it just seems that colours look better... that and just fancied a change! Believe me, it gets used lots. The rear tyre is brand new on today, haven't even ridden it yet, hence why it looks so unused! Paint job isn't that great but it does the job. I'm possibly the most impatient sprayer in the world... Final coat went on at about 2.15pm and had it built up with the stickers on by 3.15! The Inspired seat/post will be available in the near future but I'll leave it to Mr Cleaver to clarify . I was considering calling the topic something like "just call me Dave Maher!!" Whatever Rowan! Why on earth would I want gears?! Oh yeah, and I do have a shorter stem on order to try for size as the Simtra (I've been told) is probably a bit long for the whole 24" thang.
  14. So I had some paint left over from my old Zoot and I fancied a change soooo... here's the result!
  15. Yeah, I know- they were just copied and pasted from google. Obviously they'd need to be filtered as per the position your going for. Good luck Mike!
  16. I hope not. Maybe they've found the black hole at the centre of our galaxy which stops us all from spiralling out into space?
  17. Anything you like. I did 1000 miles (John O' Groats - Lands End) on an Orange Zero with 4 gears, a mahusive seatpost, cut slick tyres and a 50 litre backpack (was rough camping the whole way). My girlfriend did it on a £99 Apollo from Halfords with panniers and cut slicks. Sure it would've been much easier on bikes designed for the job but the point is you don't have to.
  18. Pretty sure it's a Leeson carbon and Ti. £57 from Leeson. Not really a fan of that... Somehow the raw finish makes the frame look even skinnier than when coloured... Also another for the seatpost. Pivotal all the way!
  19. Sell your maggy for maybe £45 and you'll be looking at less than £100 brand new for a Hope Trial or a good bit less if you go second hand... Something to think about anyway.
  20. Oh, wait, you're frame's trying to tell you something Nath...
  21. Pretty sure that's what he's getting at. Most pads naturally lose their sharp edges after a bit of use though. To be honest, for a properly working brake, especially for natural and comps, you're going to need to run a good setup with a grind which will pretty much always mean noise.
