  2. Cheers for that. I've just bought a second hand engine with 13k on it for £300 delivered on eBay. It's a bit tatty from salt corrosion so I'll either swap over my tidier bits/covers or just sort it out and paint it. Should still be able to sell some of the parts of the mullered engine to make some funds back. Ah well!
  3. D'oh. After 51,000 miles my ER6n has just eaten itself joining the M27. Reasonably hard acceleration away from J5 roundabout and it made some nasty noises with a complete loss of power. Immediately pulled the clutch and got it to the hard shoulder but it's terminal from the sounds of it Not sure how much damage it's likely to have done (now seems to be seized) or how one deseizes and engine in order to get into it to find out!
  4. Managed to get an Inspired Flow 20" on eBay for £127 earlier. Needs a couple of bits to tidy it up but should be able to get it sorted for Finn for not much $$.

  6. Here's my recent acquisition... 50cc beast to take part in a 5 hour off road endurance event for charity! Goes surprisingly well and should be a right laugh. Doing it for Hans Rey's Wheels 4 Life charity if anyone has any spare change to give... Just Giving
  7. I don't use mine much (note I have now got a Brand-X Ascend on the whyte rather than a bodged gas strut) but when I do want/need it (especially at trail centres etc.) it's brilliant. I'd still never spend £200+ on one though as a seatpost is such a minor component of the bike I just can't warrant it. £109 on the perfectly usable Brand-X though is spot on. Having just checked I see the Ascend XL is currently £109.99 on CR... may have to splash out on that for my bike and give the 125mm version to the missus!! Edit: Slight change of plan. Bought the Ascend XL (with a £10 off voucher they sent me ) but sold the old one to my brother in law for £70 instead! £1.20 per extra mm... Worth it

  10. For security I've always stuck with bolt ups on my trials bike. Unless you regularly need to whip your wheels out to get the bike in a car or whatever I'd stick with bolts...

  12. I can't see me buying a carbon framed mountain bike anytime soon. The way I keep my bikes in the garage, the use of bike racks, the way I use them on the trail I just don't trust the stuff. I've got a carbon road bike but it's not exposed to the same potential hazards.

  14. Also, considering the stuff Danny Mac has done on his 5010 which is still going strong (apparently) I wouldn't worry too much about the SC unless you're really casing the jumps.
  15. They appear to be setup with downsweep (is that a thing?) which looks totally wrong. I'd have to run them so that they were at least horizontal (which looks like the rise would then be vertical relative to the ground). Are they the stock YT bars? Edit: Yarp

  17. Check your chainline. When I went to 1x10 on my Meta I ended up running the NW ring on the inside of the spider with some spacers to get the chainline better.
