Yeah, hitting someone is bad enough but how did he manage to then let go of the bike and let it plough into spectators is just crazy. Also quite surprised that didn't warrant a protest and burning of cars by the French... It usually doesn't take much more to set them off!

I was really surprised there wasn't a single mention (unless I missed it) on the ITV4 coverage... To be honest I'm amazed it doesn't happen more often that either spectators or riders are taken out by one of the thousands of bikes, cars, vans and whatever else dash along the route chasing their guys.

I had a quick go on Andy Greens today and I can't believe how good it seems to be for the money. Nothing is 'budget' and I can't see anything that I'd want to upgrade (except brake pads to be fair) and also can't believe how light it is too. Without doubt one of the most bargainous things to enter the biketrials market ever. You won't regret it if you get one .

Awful news from the F2 race at Brands Hatch today. Henry Surtees, 18 year old son of 1964 F1 World Champion John was killed when a stray wheel from a separate accident hit him on the head at ~120mph. He was rendered unconscious immediately and has since died in hospital. Thoughts are with his family...

That's pretty damn nice! Not sure about the bar/stem setup and not a big fan of the saddle but they're minor complaints! Very stealth .

I do if I can see it's clear and the road allows it... Carried through from my days in the minivan when acceleration really wasn't a strong point. Edit: Not in a 30 limit though. I tend to stick to the limit (there or thereabouts) in built up areas but on 50 or national limit roads with roundabouts it's fair game .

If they're out in front they should just line up next to each other and block the road so no one can get past anyway... They wouldn't even need to go fast then Edit: I haven't seen any of the coverage (apart from Cav getting his knickers in a twist yesterday) so didn't know that was what Thor's up to.

To be honest it's a race and whatever the cycling ethics involved, I don't see a problem with it unless he refuses to share the load and spend his time at the front of the train. Even as a non cyclist I can see that just tagging along behind them all and conserving energy would be just plain rude. And please, Chris, for the love of Jebus,

If it was just a laser speed gun (i.e. it wasn't an actual camera just a read out for them to see) then there's no proof of the offence and so nothing will come of it. The gun may have given them an error reading or something so they couldn't do anything about it. Usually when it's cops like that they'd have someone up the road ready to pull you over and issue the ticket on the spot... don't quote me on that though!!
