  1. Pitbull looks like a very good spec too. Are they comparable in price?
  2. You should just smite him with a plague of locusts or something. Smite him good.
  3. How are the threads in the frame? Chances are they may be screwed as well if the BB was cross threaded...
  4. Woo! I have a monster raving loony party candidate in my constituency! Result.
  5. Someone I know is a Navy helicopter pilot and he still takes his bike with him and occasionally gets out to play. Not sure if it's different if your a pilot though compared to a matlow...
  6. The whole thing with pedal ups (to back, none of this tapping nonsense) is that 90% of the power comes in the final 1/4 turn of the cranks. I learnt from watching Martyn Ashton and I roll in slowly with my good foot down with my weight low and arms and legs kinda coiled. At the right time (the first difficult thing to judge but with practice you'll get it) I'll start pedalling to get the front wheel up and as I do that I start to jump my body up. When my good foot is just coming into play that's when all the power comes in and you time your upwards explostion to coinside with that release of power. Once the bike's being accelerated upwards by your jumping and the crank power you need to pull the bike up under you and then throw it out in front of you to gain that extra height. Your best bet is to watch a slow motion replay of someone doing it to get your head round it. That's what I did with Martyn in Tricks and Stunts and it hasn't done me any harm .
  7. I think it's very much down to the individual. In my mind the Navy would be a very good career choice as far as money, pay, pension etc goes but I would never even remotely consider a career in the armed forces because for one I'd never be able to cope with the being bossed around all the time by some public school boy twat and I also wouldn't want to be involved in being the puppet for any foreign governments wars and invasions. But if you're cool with that and don't mind being away from home for months on end its a pretty sweet deal overall...
  8. Have you taken account for the clearance required for the lockring which holds the crank onto the bash? Also clearance for the chain once the ring's bolted up- looks like you'll need to run some kind of spacer in there. Finally are you going to helicoil the M6 threads into it? The bolts will obviously be really short not to pass through the bash and foul the crank arms and that doesn't leave much meat for the threads if you just tap the ally. Anyway, looking really good and look forward to seeing 'in progress' pics and the final item .
  9. Try smearing a little grease around the clamping area of the bars and reassemble. Sometimes does the trick.
  10. What the hell's going on with no one able to quote properly? It's not that diificult is it?!
  11. And the final mass should be...? Looks good, nice to see the little details like clearance for the crank arm itself modelled as well rather than being lazy and ignoring it!
  12. Welcome Alexey. I've submitted a validation vote and I'm sure it won't be long before you're on the forum 'proper'.
  13. My guess is that any carbon wheel which is just about strong enough to take trials abuse will have to be heavier than a standard spoked wheel. Half of the carbon disc wheels out there for time trial bikes etc are heavier than their spoked alternatives, it's just that the aero benefits outweigh the extra mass you lug around.
  14. Must be just me then that thinks £70 for pedals is a bit steep. I guess for the mass...
  15. You absolutely couldn't when I first tried 18 months ago. Contrary to popular belief I'm not a moron who mashes at their keyboard and shouldn't be trusted with any kind of control over their machine...
  16. Yeah I reckon so. Mine's just 'Home Premium' which maybe in Microsoft mind is for morons who mash at their keyboard and shouldn't be trusted with any kind of control over their machine...
  17. I definitely couldn't. UAC was in the control panel but it wasn't selectable or changeable, hence the need to use the registry edit thing. Maybe they updated it with a service pack or whatever but when I first got the laptop it really wasn't changeable.
  18. Odd occasion? It happened every time I tried to install a program, delete a file, change the name of a file, open certain folders, change things in the control panel etc. etc. Nowhere was safe from it's annoying intervention! So yeah, the registry mod just disables all that crap so you have some kind of control over your computer without Windows assuming you're a complete retard. I'm pretty sure you can't in Vista... you can in W7 but in Vista (at least the version I have which may be the issue) I couldn't do anything so downloaded the fix.
