  1. In answer to the question (and in the absence of truthsayer Hendrix) they look awesome and ride really well but really aren't up to taking much abuse. Made of very thin K-Alone tubes which tended to crack from what I've seen. They were pretty though...
  2. Just watched it and have to say that was really really good! Although I'm a trials rider through and through with no real interest in road bikes the way it was put together had a really fun, fresh vibe about it. Thanks for the heads up
  3. Pah, that's nothing. Real men do it on trials bikes . Good luck Mr Quiggley! Hope the weather's kind to you!
  4. I can't be bothered going into it in detail but the one last night was a perfect example. For one while 'racing' they were clearly tailing a camera car an were just following it down the road. Then all the random jumps and stunts which I guarantee were nowhere near any kind of race 'route' and were probably all filmed individually about 10 times from every angle ready for editing. It's obviously done purely for show and I doubt there is actually any real element of race in it at all- purely for entertainment. The races with James, Jezza and Hamster alone I can believe being reasonably 'real' with lots of shots taken on the way back or afterwards (and even the likes of the climber one) but all the 'BMXers vs. Fiat 500' type ones (off the top of my head freerunners in Liverpool and the one last night) are just bullshit. What's wrong with Fizzy Cola Bottles Greetings?!
  5. That's it. Since no bugger uses brakes anymore, no one needs chrome rims unless they want a pretty (but heavy) rim.
  6. The races like this bug me now. They quite clearly just take the individual clips to create an editted skit with no actual race happening. However, I was rather impressed with Hamsters driving (if it was actually him in the 'outside' shots)- that was a proper tight course through the trees and he wasn't hanging about.
  7. Think rim grinds but on pedals- just improves the friction between the pedal surface (and we're talking platforms here rather than caged) and your shoe. Between the pins is usually smooth and painted giving little grip- grinding just improves things.
  8. A faggot is a kind of meatball. Faggots are a traditional dish in the UK, especially the Midlands of England. It is made from meat off-cuts and offal, especially pork. A faggot is traditionally made from pig's heart, liver and fatty belly meat or bacon minced together, with herbs added for flavouring and sometimes breadcrumbs. The mixture is shaped in the hand into balls, wrapped round with caul fat (the omentum membrane from the pig's abdomen), and baked.
  9. Goodridge do a range of colours for their car (and I think motorbike) kits but only a few for their mountainbike range... I don't see why they couldn't do coloured MTB lines if they really wamted. Obviously it's just a coloured plastic sleeve but would still give the right effect.
  10. Or just don't use iTunes because it's the most annoying pile of poo in the world ever.
  11. That looks almost identical to how mine was cracked. I used a dremel to take the corner off and add a radius and it's been fine for 2 years+ now. Don't forget to do the other side at the same time to stop it cracking on the top.
  12. BMX spacing is 110mm. Trials hubs tend to be made to be 116mm spacing to allow for 3mm each side of cam chain tensioners. Except Monty of course who can be bloody awkward at times! So yeah, basically any hub you can get hold of should work but you may need some spacers/washers to meet the frame depending on your hub and tensioner setup.
  13. It can't have been Danny because he does stunts, not skids and wheelies.
  14. The streety 26" with a saddle is a Because Street.
  15. Haha, yup- that's who I was thinking of! Crazy low pressures...
  16. I've reported the first post to the powers that be to get it moved to Trials Chat. Bit more on pressure while I'm here- If I run my tires just hard enough not to get punctures, I find the tyres still bounce me around a bit too much, especially on cambered sections, so I tend to run them with a bit more air to keep the tyre more stable. Just preference really- I know people who have run their tyres so low that you can rim out just by compressing the bike with your body weight but that's just too low for me.
  17. I'd totally forgotten about that. I think it's safe to stand by my comment in that thread.
