  1. You know, Enstine. Invented 'relative TV'.
  2. My guess is Trevor can however use spell-check. It's a marvellous invention.
  3. [tongueinecheek] Really? They're quite common, generally providing a level of retardation. I'm somewhat surprised you weren't involved in its conception, together with the wheel of course. Just lol. Questions... there are so many. 1) Was your typing/English always so poor? For someone who has done so much and been involved with so many groundbreaking inventions/designs/indictments/whatever, it worries me somewhat. 2) Do you really naturally face magnetic north, and are your legs hydraulic? And, leading on from that, 3) Are you the Stig? [/tongueincheek] Edit: I, for one, have no idea who your brother is or anything about a report, new or old.
  4. Can you throw some gears and some forks onto the DMR? I wouldn't be too fussed about being able to lockout the front suspension for road work. Rear sus yes but front only makes a difference when you're on a climb out of the saddle (which tends to only be for relatively short periods in theory).
  5. Here is good. As is here. And of course the Bill. There's also some good riding around Weymouth too.
  6. He has no need- Ads is honed to perfection already. In other news, lathes for internal bore honing glory! And Ads, yeah I can see where you're going with that!
  7. Ah, T-Cut. The polish of champions! Nice work Ads, will be interesting to see how long it lasts!! Were you not tempted to just buy some stock CF tubing and hone the ID?
  8. No way you would want to ride to Portland. It would take you most of the day on a trials bike and a lot of it is up seriously steep hills. The bill is the Southern most tip, where the lighthouse is.
  9. Portland is brilliant. There are plenty of little spots dotted around the 'island' but you could quite easily spend a day (week?) at the bill itself. You won't regret it!
  10. What did you use to clean the rim and pads?
  11. Agreed. Chill and give him some time. Even if he posted it Tuesday, if he sent it Royal Mail it would probably have to go 'standard parcel' which will take 4-5 working days so you'll be lucky to see it before early next week...
  12. Hi Gary, I'm sure your very mechanically minded so if I were you I'd probably strip it down after bedding in and give the pawls and mechanism the once over. Not necessarily required but I imagine it can't do any harm to remove any swarf from the mechanism and ensure all the pawls will engage nicely.
  13. Yeah, they don't mean degreasing it and running the bearings dry, just thinning the quantity of grease and using a lighter lube to keep things running smooth.
  14. But soon you'll have none? How does that work?!
  15. I thought that must be the case! And agreed, a circlip would be fairly unnecessary and would mainly just add weight! As forteh says though, would be good engineering practice to include a retaining mechanism of some sort.
  16. With no circlip or anything? Seems a little brave! Also, is the core steel or ally? The blue anodizing confuses me (easy to do)!
  17. To me cycling is using a bicycle as a form of transport, whether for the purpose of commuting, fitness or whatever else. Although I ride a bicycle, I don't consider myself as a trials rider a cyclist. Similarly I don't imagine motorbike trials riders consider themselves motorcyclists in the sense of road riders and commuters- they're just different in the way the rider uses the bike.
  18. If I only rode trials I wouldn't consider myself a cyclist- I only barely count myself as one for messing about in the woods occasionally. Just something to bear in mind.
  19. There's a big difference between 'cyclists' (and people who commute by bike) and those who use bikes for a hobby, like BMXers or trials riders. A lot of us type are also into cars, motorbikes and stuff which makes us not overly tree-huggery.
  20. But prone to rounding off... the button head ones anyway, cap heads were much better.
