  1. It should of course be noted that any reference to 'Maddie' in this thread, humorous, twisted or otherwise, relates to Madeleine McCann, victim of parental infanticide, not Madison.
  2. In theory neither way is 'better' than the other. With the axle clamped up properly the amount of brake flex would be comparable for each case. Personally if I had to flex the frame out in order to put the washers inside I'd probably run them outside just to reduce the stress going through the seatstays/chainstays. Having said that, having them on the inside will make your life easier when putting the wheel in as they will be positively located on the axle, whereas on the outside they're bound to slip occasionally and need repositioned as you tighten the QR. Inside, definitely inside. Or outside.
  3. Thinking about it (which I really shouldn't) those are almost the exact sizes you'd need to make a perfectly sized coffin... Too far?
  4. Yup. A washer with a 10mm hole will be spot on. You could run it either on the inside or outside of the dropout depending on how much 'play' there is in the frame.
  5. Are you kidding me? Seriously, what the f**k?! I'm surprised they don't have penis size or maximum anus diameter. That's just weird.
  6. C'mon, everyone knows her parents did it, probably by accident of course, but still. Are the pictures screened before going up? If you did put a pic up, how long before the police came knocking?
  7. Are Gary Glitter's eye brows drawn on with brown felt tip?
  8. It's ok JT, we all know you're special .
  9. Simmer for a couple of minutes, lightly season then serve.
  10. No, boiling them does help. I usually boil the pads and rotor then stick the pads in a hot oven for 5-10 minutes. Bed them back in and keep your fingers crossed...
  11. 567/3 is five hundred and sixty seven thirds. You basically have 567 * 1/3. When you simplify it you're looking for common divisors between the numerator and denominator. In this case that's three and as such 567/3 simplifies to 189. If you had 568/3 you have 568 * 1/3. Compared to the last example you have one extra third left over meaning that you could simplify it to 189 and 1/3. It's kinda like dividing with a remainder.
  12. In my mind simplifying fractions doesn't mean converting to 4 and a half (or 4.5), it means reducing a fraction to it's simplest form, as Rowan said.
  13. Are they actually removing the way healthcare is paid for (i.e. we no longer pay NI contributions and instead pay for personal health insurance) or are they just looking at privatising certain sectors in order to improve efficiency (in theory) and 'streamline' things?
  14. Do bears shit in the woods? Tarty are by far the best trials shop in the UK, most probably Europe and very possibly the world. Apart from plans of world domination, they will certainly be able to sort you out with a Zoot .
  15. Finally passed my Viva last week so am now officially a Doctor of Engineering. Still work in the wind tunnels at the University of Southampton but am soon to take over the management of the tunnels and take on a bit more of an 'academic' position, supervising a PhD student as well as undergrads.
  16. I've yet to go up there, the main reason I haven't been yet being the fact it's over the other side of the M25 which is just a bit of a ballache. Having said that, I would be more tempted to go up if there were basic facilities like Rich mentioned suitable for camping...
  17. Unless you're the US president, quickly approaching re-election but doing really badly in recent polls... Just sayin'.
  18. Don't try and get a good result, just enjoy yourself and meet lots of people. Best advice would be to hook up with someone else who can show you the ropes and you can walk the sections with. Take your time in the sections and try not to rush and don't be too worried if you do worse than you think you're capable of.
  19. He was struggling to keep his balance because the cables were a bit greasy apparently. Was on his 'Bigtime Trial Adventure' thing in South Africa I think- Table Mountain. And yes it's real. Next image, And down.
