  1. Entrepreneurs making money?!
  2. You see, I thought that they thought that anyone who's left will be dead... soooo who's going to look after their pets? I thought they were stupid for being religious in the first place but these guys are even more dumb it seems!
  3. Yes, the bike will have a tendency to lean if you try to balance on the bashring, although if you ride left foot forward this is far less of an issue. The trick of course is not to use it at all! The ring/plate should be there to protect things in the event of coming into contact with something, and it's always good to avoid using it if you can. The bashplate is based on what the Megamo's used to run and I don't think anyone makes anything which would be a direct replacement. On mine the rear mounts got pushed up into the chainstays and on one frame resulted in snapping the stay, the other one dented after a few rides at which point I returned the frame to Revell and bought a Zoo Python!
  4. If I were you I'd look into getting a bash ring instead of the bashplate. I ran two of the Revell mods a few years back and I bent the rear guard mounts on both, annoyingly easily, just through light use. Not worth the risk in my mind.
  5. Yeah I wouldn't worry- the downtubes on Fourplay are 2mm thick so dents tend not to be too serious. My last frame is still going strong after 3/4 years and has had a dent slightly smaller than yours since the first week. Having said that, with my Tartybikes hat on- definitely get a carbon protector because they're pimp as fook .
  6. To add to the other replies, make sure your front wheel just makes the top of the wall. If you think about it, if you go too high and come down onto the wall all of your forward momentum is lost. You want to almost pedal gap into the wall, front wheel just landing on top, then immediately throw your weight forward before extending the bike out in front of you.
  7. Continuing on from this, does anyone know of a good Android app which allows you to have offline access to maps? When using navigation or whatever it sucks when the data signal drops out and although you still have GPS the phone can't access the maps to show your location. I've got a 16GB SD card and don't see why I can't have a simplified map available all the time... does that exist?!
  8. There's not an awful lot in Bournemouth itself but there are some spots in the area. Have a look at this thread for some places in the South.
  9. I think the sticker is unrelated to the age of the bike, it's just stating that it passed the British Standards tests which haven't been changed since that date. I'd put the bike around the 2003-4 sort of period and should do you just fine to learn the basics on and practise for moto riding.
  10. I use Cardio Trainer. It's supposed to be for doing proper workouts and stuff but I've used it for both running and on the MTB and it tracks your route, gives speed, distance, time, elevation and stuff which you can save in the history and compare with future rides to see how you're doing. And it's free. Would definitely recommend giving it a go.
  11. I have literally no idea who that is... Edit: And that interview seems to just be a picture of him.
  12. No worries! Bashguard kinda means bashplate but the term can as easily cover both bashplates and bashrings! Easy to get confused without pics.
  13. You're correct about the rules. In competition, stock bikes are not allowed to have bashplates, that is wide metal plates suspended beneath the BB. They are only allowed bashrings to cover the sprocket/freewheel. There have been a couple of street oriented stock bikes which have incorporated the ability to run a bashplate but neither were that popular- those being the mark one Onza T-rex and the Base B26.
  14. It should of course be noted that any reference to 'Maddie' in this thread, humorous, twisted or otherwise, relates to Madeleine McCann, victim of parental infanticide, not Madison.
  15. In theory neither way is 'better' than the other. With the axle clamped up properly the amount of brake flex would be comparable for each case. Personally if I had to flex the frame out in order to put the washers inside I'd probably run them outside just to reduce the stress going through the seatstays/chainstays. Having said that, having them on the inside will make your life easier when putting the wheel in as they will be positively located on the axle, whereas on the outside they're bound to slip occasionally and need repositioned as you tighten the QR. Inside, definitely inside. Or outside.
  16. Thinking about it (which I really shouldn't) those are almost the exact sizes you'd need to make a perfectly sized coffin... Too far?
  17. Yup. A washer with a 10mm hole will be spot on. You could run it either on the inside or outside of the dropout depending on how much 'play' there is in the frame.
  18. Are you kidding me? Seriously, what the f**k?! I'm surprised they don't have penis size or maximum anus diameter. That's just weird.
  19. C'mon, everyone knows her parents did it, probably by accident of course, but still. Are the pictures screened before going up? If you did put a pic up, how long before the police came knocking?
  20. Are Gary Glitter's eye brows drawn on with brown felt tip?
