  1. Of course, but then I answered his original question (reasonably helpfully for me) in the first reply.
  2. You're definitely missing the point. Also the point about not downloading anything suggested to you by people on the forum... trials is populated by quite an odd bunch with very diverse interests and talents. If you give them a chance there really is a wealth of knowledge on virtually any subject you care to think of, computing/software advice included. I couldn't even begin to count the number of times I've found out something very useful (but completely non bike related) on here. The fact this is a forum about bikes means that spelling and grammar does have a place. And as has been said, getting into the habit of typing correctly and putting a bit of effort in can only stand you in good stead in the future.
  3. Cool, cheers for the advice. We've just had a guy from our IT centre in who is going to supply us with a new machine tomorrow morning which has an X4 slot in it as standard so hopefully that'll sort it!
  4. It's a bit strange- I've read in a couple of places now that the 4X should be able to plug straight into the 16X slot and work fine but when you do this it seems to automatically cease using the onboard graphics, even though that's set in the BIOS. The other options I'm looking at is getting a converter to use the X16 graphics card attached via a converter thing to one of the 1X slots and then use the 16X slot for the 4X card... dunno!
  5. We so need the Grammar Camel back as well though!
  6. Ok, hardware tech question for y'all... We have a PC which has a single PCI slot, a PCI-E 16X slot and two PCI-E 1X slots in the motherboard. We have just received a framegrabber card which unfortunately has a PCI-E 4X connector on it. We've tried slotting the card in the 16X slot, and it fits, but the computer refuses to use the onboard graphics (selected in bios so it shouldn't be looking elsewhere) and instead seems to try and use the framegrabber as a graphics card. And fails. Is there any way of converting a 1X to accept the 4X or something to allow the card to be used in the PC? I've come across a riser card but fear this will screw up the spacing. Any ideas?!
  7. I am (wind tunnel manager having finished being a student) but work during the day so would only be able to ride weekends or maybe an evening if pre-arranged so I can take my bike to work. Adam White is also a PhD student in Astronautics who rides. Don't think he's on the forum though.
  8. 3:39 is the exact technique I learned back in the day (having watched Martyn in slo-mo about a hundred times!) and which I still use to good effect today. He goes in too fast but starting good foot down then giving 3/4 pedal stroke with all the power coming in the final little kick is pure win.
  9. It's not taking the piss because it's basically their choice to be lazy. You're using a computer which can very easily be configured to include spell-checkers that highlight mistakes and give you the options of what you actually wanted to say. It's not rocket science. It also has nothing to do with belittling anyone because at the end of the day being able to form proper sentences, having attention to detail etc. will help in real situations like applying for jobs or whatever. Sure it may be a bit anal for a biketrials forum made up primarily of teenagers but (apart from being in the guidelines) most people do make an effort and being lazy when posting means that people are less likely to be helpful and will not respond in the way you hope. I actually think this side of things may actually help people more in the long run than just telling someone how to join a chain or set bar angle... Really? I didn't even notice
  10. Can people please learn to spell sponsor/sponsored/sponsorship?!
  11. You could go in slower and take off later. It looks like you're almost having to pedal gap up rather than putting all your effort into gaining height. Just a bit of constructive advice really!
  12. It also helps to key the surface too to get it down into the paint. Saying that, the finish is a really thick, baked on powdercoat finish so will take some work to remove for sure!
  13. Nut type axles will usually be stronger (since they'll be steel) but appear on cheaper, heavier hubs, particularly with cup and cone bearings. Allen screw hubs will be lighter and generally nicer to work with as you only need an allen key rather than big ol' spanners. Really?
  14. I doubt they'll fit the Gusset through bolt though...
  15. So you've actually done it?! You've just spent £2300 on a bike and the first thing you do is ruin the finish that identifies it as the sig edition- respect!!
  16. I was going to say that the frame weight would depend on the altitude and location on the planet at which the measurements were made, and that would be right... except that it's the mass which Onza have included on the frame . Edit: I think we need to start including tolerances on these frame decals Joe. 1090±1, +70±0.5, 380±0.5, 72±0.2 WEIGHT 1.46±0.056 would be far more acceptable Edit 2: Actually, on a serious note, what sort of tolerances are frames in general built to, geometry wise? Obviously mass can vary slightly depending on lots of factors but lengths and angles wise what sort of range do you expect?
  17. Yeah, we're usually the ones getting in the way of motorists and pissing them off rather than us being in any danger...
