  1. ahh spokey dokeys are a common mod round here, but im not entirely convinced they'll improve my riding....
  2. Totally understandable Kev, you do seem like quite a busy man! It was just a query my dad wanted more information on and thats cleared things up a great deal. Obviously at my age there isnt alot i can volunteer to help out with that carries alot of responsiblity but if theres anything you can think of that would be useful, id be very happy to do my bit to ensure good running of the club and events so just give us a shout! Dan
  3. Wow Johny, never thought id hear you saying that! I would like to see a Glasgow ride organised soon, everyone i speak to bigs it up! Now i want to see what the fuss is about
  4. Hahahaha yesss see you got my shitty wee 270 total lol'd at Ben "the policemans already said we're alllowed" the guy at the church sounded like a midget. Great wee vid though
  5. 'Nother question so on the two day events are they treated as 'single' events or is the second day a continuation of the first? EDIT: my Dad has a query about the club. He has good knowledge of this stuff having being involved with various car clubs and motorsport, there needs to be club rules and guidelines to follow to keep the legitimecy of the club (not sure on spelling) and to ensure everyone is aware of how the club runs.
  6. Sorry i couldnt make it yesterday guys plus the train times just dont suit on a sunday. Will definetely get a ride organised in the next couple of weeks. Dan
  7. yerr man i do, theres someone else interested though and im kinda having trouble with paypal at the mo so ive not got back to him for payment details if you can give me a few days i'll see whats happening and i'll let you know if he's still interested

  8. Hmm train from Dumfries is at 1pm and would have to catch 20 past 5 train back. Not sure what it'll be for yourself but for me from Dumfries its £2.55 return, but that was before VAT increase (VAT is charged yes/no?)
  9. Any good double wheel, i.e. Rolhoff, Try-All, Trialtech, Tensile etc. Whether your chain would work with those i dont know. Ive got something different, mines a Fire-Eye tensioner and its brill, keeps tension constant, gives maximum chain wrap and is silent. Also alot of the double wheel tensioners, paricularly the older Trialtech ones and the Try-All and Tensile ones (alot of t's there!! ) are all basically the same so should something go wrong you can interchange parts
  10. yess just looked at met office, forecast seems good
  11. Sounds great Kev, and club membership seems a good price, great venues. Really looking forward to this i'll hopefully be attending rounds 2,3 and 7 one question, on the two day events is there separate points availible for the two days or is it just counted over the weekend?
  12. a pic of me on my proper bike- Commencal Combi DLX upgraded with Mavic rims on Hope Pro 2 hubs, Sunline bars, Maxxis tyres, Hope floating brake rotors, MRP 1.X chainguide and old skool XTR cranks and Middleburn chairing (not in pic)
  13. reet looking at sunday now, again weather permitting
  14. weather aint good guys :/ heavy rain and gails all day. Will have a try for sunday
  15. still going ahead the now, meeting time now changed to 11.30
  16. yeah been to skatepark before, kinda boring to be honest, only ridden carlisle about 3 or 4 times, but need some new areas to ride
  17. Nicee would be good to have some locals who know the area well i know a few places to ride but would like some other places. Should explain my mate coming along isnt a trials rider, instead likes to find stuff to jump and drop, gaps with transitions and stuff on his mtb, so no full on techy stuff just keeping an eye on weather heres hoping it holds out
  18. One of the few 'comp' style 24s i like, not too keen on much else, but this looks great
  19. yeah sure probably in carlisle for about 11 meeting at train station but making sure weather is good
  20. Oreet guys me and a mate might be heading down to Carlisle this weekend (Saturday 15th most likley) weathers pretty poor atm but i'll keep an eye on it for the weekend so only riding in good conditions anyone interested just gimmie a shout, pm me and if all goes ahead will get a few numbers and a meeting point organised Dan
  21. just one thing to note about the tnn pads, you have to have them set up exactly square as the metal backings to not have ANY give or flex at all so that also means your wheel needs to be as near 100% true as you can get it. also i beleive the tnn pads are for a ground rim, not smooth which yours will be from stock.
  22. I dont know, my dad paid for it and my LBS is a franchise of the place where he works so he gets a bit of discount too
  23. Looking good, not sure on the stem though but if it rides good its a winner looking at the frame it seems the Effect has a few of the original ET genes in its design and the backend isnt too far off the old Inspireds
  24. Yes i was about to say im guessing theres a lot of work with the clutch to avoid you doing wheelies all the time or is it due to the fact that the engine idles so slow to help? I once had a pit bike and the clutch on that was a bit fearce, maybe it was just me not ehhh "catching it on the bite"
