Just watch videos of top riders repeatedly, thats all I do. It helps to watch videos just before you go out riding. And if your trying to learn a particular technique, just play the clip over and over again to get a mental image of what you want to do. Its all about visualisation and belief.

I would love to compete, but like most people on here until I can drive I have no way to get there.
-
Looks awesome Jon (N). Thats about the length i'm thinking of having my 24". Seems like everybody is getting Leesons (Y). Fancy riding Birmingham anytime soon so I can try it before I decide on my final geometry? :)
-
Yes there is, cheers Mike. And after years of loyal service to Onza and its quality products. I'd never give Onza undeserved abuse. How about some money off a set of Fall guys?
-
Lol no worries I was just taking the mic. Where were you sat?
-
Yeah he had a big group of supporters cheering him on (Y)

Fatmike stole the show!!!!!! (Y)

Good things come to those who wait (Y). There is no such thing as instant gratification, even though everyone expects it. You could wait 2 days and get a piece of crap, or wait 2 months and get something quality :)". I know what I'm getting :D

You do realise that because of the smaller wheels a zero drop BB will be 1" lower than that of a 26" with zero drop BB? To have the same clearance and position as your Base you will need a +25mm BB and a high front end as well. You could get Clive to make the headtube a bit longer than standard (say 12cm) or just run some stem spacers like a lot of people do. Rest of geometry sounds pretty sweet. I should hopefully be getting one soon but a bit longer than standard.

I'm trying my best, no cracks yet though. Broken just about everything else though (Y). Been through 3 sets of forks already since I had this frame :o
-
Disc brake + heavy rider + lots of front hooks = break any set of forks Only been running these a couple of months :D, they were second hand though. Damn, sometimes I wish I was light (Y)

Lmao he's mad, those cages are not strong! Phil, you must have even less customers than us :P. Nice effort, if we tried that at our store I don't think the specialist would be impressed :D"

Pull your leading pedal back so it doesn't catch the wall. Go fast, get your weight as far forward and over the bars as possible. Land with front wheel on top of the wall with both brakes on and jump up as quickly as possible. Watch vids of other riders to get the technique into your head. Also, if you can try learning on a sloped wall as its a lot easier .

Weather is looking good, if a little cold! Highest temperature is gonna be about 4-5 degrees (Y). Oh well better ride hard then! Worcester guys will be in about 11.10 I think.
-
Errrrr... wow! That sounds and looks like the kind of bike I've wanted for years. Geometry is pretty much identical to what I would have if I had a custom frame. How you finding the ride so far?

Lmao, that rail is evil! I've got a few sweet clips of you and Nick that I'll send you both when I get my firewire sorted (shouldn't be long). Glad to here you're riding well again Nick. After Sat I've definately stopped worrying about crashing as much. Was seriously impressed with how smooth your riding is as well, distinctly unfair! (N) As for the bike... its not short thats for sure :) (BTW my wheel is ready for the skip I think :P) -
I feel like a Brum ride, not been there in a while. What day though?

I'm there, can't wait :( -
Cheers for the advice Andy. Think I'll go for the bigger HD. I have been looking at getting a DVD burner but I think I'll put that off for the moment. With the graphics card, I don't plan on buying any new games for the moment so that should do me. All the games I have are pretty old anyway. Thanks again :(
-
Yeah I was planning on getting more RAM at a later date. I just want something to get me started really. Main thing I'm not sure about is the motherboard, and whether its worth me getting one with loads of features or just basic and cheap. Whats the advantage of 939 over 754 then?
-
Ok, basically I need a new computer. Main thing I want it for is video editing. I occasionally play games but not too bothered about having top spec, I just want something fast and reliable. Planning to use some bits from my current comp to save money. Don't really want to spend more than £300 if possible. To be honest I don't really know much about computers, so I'm just looking for some advice and any experience of which parts are good etc. I've had a look on dabs and have come up with a list of stuff I was thinking of getting. Pretty sure it will work, if anyone can just check its ok and I haven't missed anything it would be appreciated. Processor Motherboard Heatsink/fan RAM Hard drive Graphics card Sound card Firewire card Or if you can't be bothered with all that here's a pic of my basket. Thanks for any help

I was up for coming, but some stupid person broke his mech hanger on a 3foot sidehop :ermm:
-
Yeah most frames snap on welds as that is the weakest spot. My Pitbull snapped after 3 months. Speaking from experience, don't expect a 4lb 7005 alu frame to last very long.
-
To be fair, its a 4lb alu comp frame-what do you expect?? If a frame was 3lbs would you still expect it to last a year? I'd be happy if a 5lbs alu frame lasted me a year! At the end of the day, if you buy light alu comp frames and ride them on the street, they will snap. You have no one to blame but yourself really. I'd advise you get an Echo pure or control short, should be a lot stronger and the geo won't be that big a change once you get used to it

Over the past 4 or 5 years of my mtb life I've managed to snap/crack the following: 6 frames 5 pairs of forks 3 pairs of bars 1 stem 2 cranks 1 chainring 4 or 5 BBs 5 or more destroyed rims 30+ snapped spokes  About 10 chains far too many mech hangers a few mechs loads of hub axles and freehubs Pedals, bashguards, brake levers, a magura piston  I'm not that harsh honestly :"> . This isn't including stuff thats just worn out through normal use, or parts that have been upgraded/stolen. Got through countless sets of tyres, grips and brake pads as well. At the start of 2002 I had my bike stolen. I got a new bike with insurance money, which I slowly upgraded when parts broke. The only thing that has survived is my Pig headset and mini saddle (Y)
