Haha so do I. How long did it take you to get back? We didn't get back until gone 5!! About 7 hours total for a journey that should have taken 4. I'll post more later but all in all Koxx days ROCKED and I really need to ride more!
-
Haha me take the piss? Never! Although I must say it was damn nice to sleep in my bed last night after a week of camping! I'll travel anywhere in the UK if theres loads of guys going. Koxx days was awesome fun and I really want to start riding more. And I could happily ride Ogwen or Addingham for a week or more, they're both amazing places to ride compared to what we have to do with in Worcestershire. Plus Ogwen has way more rocks than Buthiers! They go on for miles up and around the mountain if you explore a bit.

Yes Matt, I Like! Ogwen or Addingham would be awesome, although Ogwen is probably better from a camping and organising point of view. Plus people can stay in the Youth Hostel if they're scared of cold . What time would be best, July maybe?

If anybody is interested in a cheap ferry crossing, try Norfolk Line. Just booked mine for £26 return, travelling 2am Mon morning (26th) and returning early on 2nd April.

Sorry but I didn't get round to sending my forms off. I'll try and get there as early as I can, should be coming up with Mike Singleton as well. Looking forward to it!

Do it next weekend. It'd be great to ride late at night when everywhere is quiet especially if its dry.

Thanks for all the replies. I only really wanted to know if they had changed the design, so thanks to the people with knowledge on the subject. I happen to love the hubs but was surprised when it broke considering the use it has had. I don't ride as much as I used to and haven't done anything big or harsh in a long time. To the people trying to defend the breakages I will say this. I believe the shell is one thing that should NOT break. It is the most simple part to design as there is nothing to stop you making it as thick and strong as you need. The reason Kings fail is because they are lightweight XC hubs designed for XC use!. It is also extremely dangerous if a shell does break because you lose all engagment, throwing you forward and over the bars similar to a chain snap. I am only glad I wasn't trying anything big when it went else I could have lost some teeth. I think it is unacceptable to have hub shell failures in the first year. I am only glad Hope agree and recognise the issue, and have attempted to rectify it. I would fully understand if I had problems with the ratchet or pawls, but ironically they are in perfect condition and look brand new. This is one part of the design that seems to be spot on. I shall soon be receiving a new hub which I imagine will last a long time judging by the quality of the freehub.

Hello all Last Sunday I was riding at Porthcawl just rolling over some small rocks, when a loud bang was heard and my drivetrain slipped. The cause was my Pro 2 had literally split in two. Looks like it had cracked on the driveside flange and propagated until the hub shell failed, splitting all the way to the NDS flange. The shell just couldn't handle the outward pressure exerted by the ratchet ring when under high load. Is this a known flaw? Has this happened to many other riders? I'm wondering if Hope have fixed this as all it would take is a reinforced hub shell. I shall be ringing them tomorrow and hopefully they will replace it, just wanted to guage other riders opinions first. Thanks guys

I went there Christmas day and it was covered in ice! Definately not rideable I nearly killed myself trying. Nice pics looks like you managed some good stuff.

Good stuff mate, very enjoyable video. A great mix of technical riding and power moves with some street style as well. Glad you finished it and didn't give up, I think I better get my arse in gear now and finish mine!

Just got home. Yeah I agree with what most people have said so far. It was an enjoyable comp and a good atmosphere. I didn't ride great, but I had fun and managed to avoid death on section 2 which was nice Many thanks to Dave and all the people who helped organise/observe the event, was a good one. Will hopefully do more of them next year!

This sounds like a great event, I hope it all comes together. I should definately be there unless a disaster stops me. Kudos for organising it

I'd definately buy one if it was around £10-£15 mark. Also if you've got any decent pics of me riding in Halfords kit I'd be interetsed in those Chris

Jesus christ that is one nasty crash! Looks like both sides of BB snapped? How old was it? Fair play for trying that line though, I remember loads of us looking at it a few years back and thinking how harsh it would be! Hope you feel better soon mate

That was a cool vid, well put together, really enjoyed watching it
-
That was insane, you make the bike look as light as a feather! Looks like your control and style has improved a lot since last year. Lookin forward to the next vid keep it up
-
Ask me when were next riding together and I'll try and help you out

Lol I forgot bout Tims bar snapping trick that was extreme. I don't know which was worse but I was laughing after mine so it wasn't that bad, although landing to stomach on a handrail did make me feel pretty sick lol. Still can't believe I had camera in bag and didn't ask you to film! Sounds nasty! I did the same once but didn't do any major damage luckily I was just in severe pain.
-
I did this a few months ago when I came up short on a gap to front on a rail, and went flying over the bars. Not very big but was deep and hurt like hell.

My koxx blues are the best performing and longest lasting pads I've ever had. I've tried reds before and they were pretty good, and everyone I know with greens has said good things about them.

Trial In Wales - Free Camping - Training - Plus Downhill
Matt Burrows replied to UCI Trial's topic in News
The comp was fun despite the low turnout and less than ideal conditions. Trying to find grip on those rocks was interesting! I think almost everyone fell over and got muddy at some point. Running next to the downhill event though made us look a bit pathetic I thought, you could certainly tell which sport has the money. Conditions for the DH racers were even worse but turn out must have been around 100+. The ride in Aber was cool. Some great riding to be had just a shame I was being damn harsh and pinched! -
Koxx Days Official Story Post. Now With Pics
Matt Burrows replied to Davetrials's topic in Trials Chat
Was an awesome time. I didn't get a huge amount of riding done, but just seeing so many good UK riders and the top pros was inspiring. All the people in the camp were sound and made the trip great fun so cheers to everyone -
Avid Juicy 7 - Doesnt Want To Bed In :(
Matt Burrows replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Trials Chat
Ok so you've got the brake wet, but you don't say whether you have actually bedded in the pads? By that I mean got the brake very hot then poured water over it, if the water doesn't steam then its nowhere near hot enough. If after doing this numerous times your brake still doesn't work properly then its either not set up well or the pads are contaminated. -
FATmike Oh BTW, I am the ugly b*****d above if anbody was wondering. Cheers Mike Apart from my attempts at breaking your lens there are some funny pics.
