Kelly Farm British Championship Results
Matt Burrows replied to kelly farm trials's topic in Trials Chat
I am shocked at the turnout! I really don't see how you can have such a blatently low turnout and still call these events nationals! The only class with more than 4 riders was master, a total of 25 riders?!?! People had genuine reasons for not wanting to travel or simply not being able to travel. I think considering the pathetic turnout of the last 2 events something needs to be done. I think it would be fair to make the championship best 3 results out of 5 events to give other riders a chance. At the moment the riders winning in some classes are simply the ones that have managed to get to the events, how is this fair?? I think there needs to be more discussion about this because the current state of affairs is dire. -
Yeah good for them, while I'm stuck in Worcester and lose any chance of getting seeded this year
-
Well I've just been out on my bike for 2 hours trying to find any possible route to the motorway. The only road that isn't blocked off by police is flooded by a foot or two at one point. Even if I can get through though, levels are set to rise again tomorrow so I probably won't get home til Monday at the earliest... great

Guess who lives 8 miles away from Pershore! Apparantly Worcestershire was one of the worst affected counties. There are so many closed roads around I don't even know if I will be able to get out of Worcester! I don't really want to risk travelling but I've already missed 1 event this year and can't afford to miss another. I think Freds suggestion makes a lot of sense to me. I certainly won't be happy if the event status is changed on the day or after though.

Has everyone seen the weather forecast for the next few days? Forget about the politics for a minute but if this comp does go ahead then it will surely be as muddy and slippy (potentially dangerous?) as if it went ahead first time round. I hope the sections aren't set out too difficult

Alright Pat. Some big moves there looks like your riding well. Where are those rocks?! Looked awesome I really .wanna ride there
-
Alright guys, I need to know who is definately coming, I still have plenty of tickets left if anybody is interested. Details of the games can be found HERE. It starts at 9.15 so if anybody wants a lift we'll be leaving Worcester at 8.30. If anybody wants to stay over me or Mike should have space. Gonna be an awesome day . If your interested speak to me or Mike on msn EDITED: Cuz I'm a gay and posted wrong link

Yeah it was a really enjoyable comp. I thought the sections were great, would have been fun to have tried them backwards but I had to work Mon. Thanks go to Dave and co for all the effort put in, its a real shame more people didn't come along

The second tool you have got is for the latest hollowtech 2 system with external bearings. You have most likely got the hollowtech 1 system, also known as octalink. Like Tom said putting the extra little stud in should work. When you say its too big do you mean its catching the crank when you screw it in? Once you've got the cranks off you can use any standard isis/splined bb tool (not truvativ design though).

About Ready To Give Up Bikes For Good - Please Help
Matt Burrows replied to *PHIL*'s topic in Trials Chat
I'm with Tomm! Rear mechs do a much better job at tensioning chains than most so called tensioners on the market. Plus you can spend over £30 for a decent one and even then you have to keep a check on the tension. A rear mech costs £20, you bolt it on, it works. Incredible eh? God knows what you were trying to achieve by removing a jockey wheel but I don't think it works. Threads like this make me laugh seeing everyones bodges and ideas how to fix things -
Haha yeah joint 4th with me, don't know how many cleans you had but I think I had 4 or 5. I had the same on the second lap, lost a few silly points but thats the way it goes I guess. I felt really tired by the end and was so glad to finish! Don't know if the sun got to me but I started to feel sick, I even fell asleep in the car after the presentation Really enjoyed the sections though. A big thanks to all who organised the comp I thought it was spot on

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard this news! Addingham has to be my favourite venue in the whole of the UK. I think the rocks there are the most fun to ride. There is such a variation of big rocks and technical slopes that you can ride all day and not do the same line twice. Of all the comps I have been to at the venue there always seems to be a section of rocks you've never even looked at before. I remember one comp last year where it rained almost all day but we still had a great time - the rocks are suprisingly grippy! There are so many good places to ride which turn into death traps when wet but not Addingham. I think we need as many riders as possible to write a letter to the landowner. Signing a petition is all well and good but a letter says so much more! I shall be writing one I hope others will do the same. Heres a pic Mike took from the Tykes round earlier this year. I'm sure anybody who was there will remember the day. It was early February and we were lucky enough to have clear blue skies all day, and a brilliant sunset to finish the day. I certainly hope that won't be my last visit...

Yes I did, my video is still to come but will probably be a week or 2 before its finished. Sweet vid Matt. A good recording of the weeks events, brought back some memories. Haha nice bit of me sleeping, how tired did I feel that day
-
Sorry to raise this point again but your wording wasn't completely clear to me in this post. Are you saying Tykes members will have to join an ACU club just to get their forms signed? I'm not going to join a club whose comps I will never ride just for my ACU. If I send my ACU application form with my entry form for round one will EBTC be willing to sort it out for me and other Tykes members?

Uk Nationals Round 1 - 15th April
Matt Burrows replied to Chris_Walker's topic in Member Organised Rides
I'll be there with fatmike looking forward to it -
Nice vid mate, you're improving way too fast! Keep it up

Seriously Wayne, I know these are issues which you are obviously passionate about, but you don't have to throw personal insults at people in every post you make. Nobody needs to hear things like that, we're all here to enjoy trials at the end of the day. Hopefully this will be put behind us in the future and all clubs will come together again, but the unnecessary things you're saying will only make that harder. Personally I am very sad to see the seperation of clubs. The original line up of events looked fantastic. It is a shame that the unofficial nationals look to be the more exciting series, with lots of new venues like Blackpool, Fort William and maybe Cornwall as well. I will do my best to attend both series and hope that riders will not ignore the hard work put in by Tykes and NBTC and support their championship as well. I am a little confused as to why the 6 gear rule is being upheld? Although I guess for anybody riding the Worlds they will still need gears anyway. Is there any chance you could make the rule only apply to elite riders? I'm sure anybody riding expert worlds would already be in elite at british anyway?

OK I should reword that. Some of us can't be bothered to get decent jobs so have shitty ones and have to work bank holidays

Err, some of us have jobs I'm afraid! Add me to msn gtburrows@hotmail.com
