This is a vid from the huge Oxford ride back in February. I filmed loads that day after cracking my forks but never got round to making a vid. Well I'm short on HD space so had to get rid of it, thought I should put it in a vid for others to see. Don't expect anything too fancy with the edit, I only planned for it to be 3 mins long but still had loads of clips left after the first song, so the second song is just music and riding and thats about it Vimeo link

Out of interest, where did the Adamant snap?

Bristol! 15th Of November Saturday

Another set of forks gone -
Thought it was way better than some of your earlier vids and you clearly put some thought and effort into the effects/edit. Music was different from the norm and it worked pretty well I thought. Oh and kudos for the static hooooks

How would you forge tubes long and thin enough to be used for bike frames Dave explained the main advantages well I thought, its certainly not the cheapest way to make an individual tube but on a large scale it starts to make a lot of sense.

Well since nobody has actually answered the OPs question... I think short Adamants are awesome. I had a long control for nearly 2 years before, dullest bike ever compared to the Adamant. Like Rowan said the reach is what you want to worry about. The reach on the short Adamants is actually a lot longer than most bikes with similar wheelbases. Riding it compared to longer bikes, it kinda pushes your weight further over the backwheel when backhopping. It flicks through to back wheel very quickly, I remember when I first got it I just felt like it was flying compared to the supposedly more trialsy Control. Really good for front wheel moves, infact all my power moves have got a lot better on this frame even though it is more effort on the backwheel. I think the main reason I love it is it just feels FAST. Fast and flicky and when you ride it you feel like you can just put it anywhere you want, because its not a long barge like so many modern bikes!

Congratulations Barbara! Andrew did mention it in the car but I forgot to say at the time. A big thanks to the observers, I think it was harder work for them than us riding! At least we kept warm. Was quite annoyed to see 1 rider being abusive and nearly spoiling the atmosphere, thankfully I don't think many people were around to see. I hope he doesn't make the massive effort of travelling 80 miles next time But yeah I had a great time and the day put a big grin on my face

Yes but he'd have to go and relearn every ability, plus some of the abilities he had aquired were from people who are now dead... Really not impressed with the writers making him do that, after all he has seen over the last 2 seasons you'd think it might take more than 30 seconds to win his trust. Just a crap script from the writers trying to get a cliffhanger, Peter's not 12 for gods sake

I really hope that isn't the end of Peter. After 2.5 seasons of wasted potential he finally starts to get badass, and then...

Tempted... The forecast isn't great for the midlands but south coast looks OK What time you meeting?

Bristol video, have a look at that if you want, not that it will tell you a lot about how the frames ride. First few clips are me, then its Max T (wearing brown T) on the long frame, then Fatmike on the short Modstock up to about 1min 40

Get the short! Best all round frame I've ever ridden. Really easy to handle, you can place it exactly where you want and its great fun to ride. It should have a longer reach than your pure which is the measurement you need to worry about. The wheelbase is misleading as a guide for length as it varies so much depending on the head angle and the forks. The long is seriously a canal barge on wheels, I'm 6'1" and every one I've tried has felt way too big. Unless your a full on natural/comp rider* I really don't think you need such a long bike. Long bikes just make street riding so dull in my eyes, great for backhopping but shit for actually having fun on. *Not saying the short is crap for natural BTW. I've done every round of the nationals on mine this year and loved every round.

Veeery tempted. That place is awesome and the forecast is pretty good tomorrow... I'll see if I can persaude any friends to come

Yeah same, was a really moving ceremony. I didn't realise at the time how much it had upset me. Was properly stressed driving home though, and its still playing over in my head now. To think of all the good friends he had who couldn't make it as well... Thanks for the ride after, and everyone who was out. Was a decent session and definitely helped in coping with the emotions, reckon Hobbsie wouldv'e enjoyed that ride...

I'll be there with Fatmike no doubt

More importantly... IT'S MY BIRTHDAY

TGS is a DIRTY habit, and if any more proof was needed than the video forum then I have it. I currently have the type of full body ache that can only be caused by a whole days riding or climbing.

Anyone Fancey Riding Worcester/ Cheltenham Soon
Matt Burrows replied to Aaron.Tottman's topic in Member Organised Rides
I ride Worcester 3 or 4 times a week, but I don't think you'd like my rides. Its usually just me on my own, late at night and practicing the same old tricks. Maybe we could organise a Saturday Worcester ride soon. -
Nah we've met and ridden before I'm sure, I'm sorry if I gave you that impression! I think its probably hard to not know who you are from your forum antics But yeah awesome ride, sure Beau would have loved it. Cheers to everyone who turned up and made the day what it was. I think we might have been the last to leave at about half 8, everyone disappeared after 7!

You are sadly mistaken, it looked mega gay. But as this is the crap footage then we'll have to let you off. The rest of the clips were highly impressive as usual, you do seem to get better every month which is good to see.

OR, do things properly. Strip the caliper and apply the correct threadlock to the adjuster thread. There's always a proper way to fix things, just most trials riders are either too poor or ill equipped to do so

The report explains that if particle collisions at the LHC had the power to destroy the Earth, we would never have been given the chance to exist, because regular interactions with more energetic cosmic rays would already have destroyed the Earth or other astronomical bodies. The Safety Assessment Group writes, “Nature has already conducted the equivalent of about a hundred thousand LHC experimental programmes on Earth – and the planet still exists.” 'nuff said

Spot on. As long as UCI comps are only for top riders, then they will never dominate trials. I've never understood the trend to mock BIU rules and praise UCI. As far as I'm aware the UCI do nothing to support and promote the sport at grass roots level, or is that just in this country? We really need an injection of life into the sport if it is ever to flourish. In my eyes I've never seen the sport at such a low in this country, so few committed riders willing to practice or compete every weekend
