  1. Criminals are still human beings. At one point they were innocent children, they weren't born criminals or evil, their life made them who they are. Maybe if we concentrated more on the wrongs of society than the end product, we wouldn't have to have this discussion.
  2. Yeah I know I know I'm familiar with windows, and have never used OSX so it just made more sense to me. I'm pretty happy with it atm either way. Oh P.S. I am currently listening to eargasm at least once a day, tis good stuff
  3. New PC time! Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz Asus P5Q MB Scythe Mini Ninja heatsink 4GB 1066MHz DDR2 Asus ATI 4670 GPU with HDMI 500GB HD Coolermaster case OCZ 600W PSU 22" Viewsonic HD monitor Super Pi 1m score of just under 16 seconds, not bad for stock settings
  4. Thanks for the guys who gave me recommendations, I really appreciate that. On the posting front, I do travel quite a bit for competitions and group rides. I'm not really bothered about travelling 150 miles or so if theres a decent ride at the other end.
  5. Bring your bike to college with you and ride after then? I ride Worcs all the time and so does Grant when hes got a working bike
  6. Trials is going back in time? Its like the late '90s all over again when supersonics were the tyres to have. Everyone does know that the mountain/speed king series are XC tyres yeah? XC tyres designed to roll well and be as light as possible... I wouldn't touch one for trials. The black chilli compound comes in 3 versions now, the super soft version for the new DH tyres, the soft Rubber Queen version, and the original XC version which the 'kings use. It is still a fairly hard compound, its considered grippy for an XC tyre but then the standard durometer is between 60-70. And as far as punctures go, I could just about get away with the protection version for XC but the supersonic is rediculously thin! Unless you're under 10 stone and like hard pressures then I would stay away from them. Its a shame they don't do a 2.2" folding black chilli Rubber Queen as that would be an awesome front tyre. They only make a cheapo hard compound wire 2.2" version as far as I'm aware. Has anyone seen the new DMR tyre on Tarty? Looks like it could be an alternative to the try all front tyre, which is pretty much the only front tyre worth running in my eyes. Personally I can't wait for the new DH tyres, the compound is super soft and the sidewalls are more stable than maxxis. Hopefully they will be light as well, I have 2 pre production Rain Kings but have been reluctant to try them because of the 1.25kg weight! If anybody wants to buy them off me send me a PM
  7. Then why don't you ride Worcester?!?! It's infinitely better than Stratford and Redditch
  8. Are you still looking for riders for the stock? If so like I said before I'd be happy to test it and give you my feedback. I'm a technically minded rider who is always thinking about product design and how to improve upon current ideas. I've been wanting to get some frames of my own made for a while now so may be able to offer a more in depth opinion than just "bike is sweet" etc. I've been riding the national champs, other club comps and Koxx days for 3 or 4 years now, videos on youtube etc. I tend to get out and about as much as I can so I'm sure somebody can vouch for me.
  9. Sweet ride. Cheers guys I had fun today nearly 6 hours driving but worth it
  10. Of course it is! Trialtech is just a brand name, they don't actually make anything. Its all made in the far east by manufacturing companies that then put a Trialtech name on the parts. KMC makes chains for many different brand names including their own, nothing to be worried about really. Edit: Its not a kool sorry, but it is a KMC
  11. Well I first started trying to do tricks and trials moves about 12 years ago... so I've owned quite a few frames! 1. '95 GT Tequesta 18" XC bike - Obviously couldn't handle extreme backhopping and snapped at the dropout 2. Santa Cruz Chameleon in lime green (h) - Snapped at the headtube 3. Orange Zero - Stolen 4. PX Zebdi Mk3 - Cracked BB shell & headtube 5. Merlin jump frame. Some cheap sketchy steal frame I used for a while, snapped & rewelded many times 6. PX Zebdi Mk4 - Cracked BB shell 7. PX Pitbull - Snapped chainstay & seatube, cracked headtube, rewelded 2 or 3 times! Vids here and here 8. Echo Pure 1060 - Sold and eventually snapped. Vid of me riding it here and here 9. Leeson 609 Bump - Used for about 6/7 months, owned for 3 years (see below, recently sold) 10. Echo Control 06 long. - Received when I was sponsored by Halfords, eventually sold 11. Adamant 07 short - Best frame I've ever had, so much fun. Some clips of me at the start of this vid here Brings back some memories going through all that!
  12. Wahey somebody actually noticed. For anybody interested in knowing more, Sheldon Brown has a useful article here I prefer using 1/8" chains because of the sprocket choice, you can use burly BMX cogs that would be too wide for a 3/32" chain. If you get decent quality sprockets then you'll end up with a noticeably stronger and longer lasting drivetrain. I've got a Park chain wear tool which I use frequently to make sure my chains in good nick. I replace it as soon as it reaches 0.75mm wear, which means my cogs hardly wear and last for years, and more importantly my chance of a chain snap is much lower. Costs a bit more in chains but I value my teeth
  13. Dude, that bail! You are a jammy sod to get out of that one . Liked the vid it was different from the norm
  14. Man some of you guys are seriously harsh! What the hell is the point in just blatently ripping into designs and ideas. If you don't like something why not write something constructive? Or maybe if you insist on being such a fussy and negative sod you could just state your opinion without resorting to flaming and insults. I'm unimpressed at the negative tripe that seems to constantly come from some members! It looks nice I think, it stands out, its different from the normal plain paintjobs which I think we should be grateful for after the long, low and silver years... Geo sounds nice, and i'm all for making it adjustable but as others have said, not at the cost of hub choice. It would be interesting to see a trials frame with an adjustable head angle as seen on DH bikes as well
  15. Sounds all good to me Barbara, I think every issue has been thought of and hopefully these events will be well attended and really pick up the UK trials scene, can't wait!
  16. I think it sounds like a good idea. Aslong as you deal with respected and mature riders you shouldn't have any trouble, there are plenty of suitable guys out there I'm sure. The only problem could be if somebody wasn't a great mechanic and ended up damaging threads etc. I think it would be best to have somebody like Adam involved who could help decide the riders and follow the frames progress & condition. The geo sounds pretty nice, I'd be happy to test it for a month if you're still looking for riders to send it to.

    Oxford Vid

How did I manage to miss this ride I was riding Bristol on my own ahah. Mint vid looked like a fun ride. Some nice lines on the rocks, reckon that Control suits you way more than the Boxx did...
  18. Can't believe nobody has mentioned tightening order Always make sure the DS is fully tightened before applying any torque to the NDS. Best practice is to screw the NDS cup in by hand until its around half way in, then put the DS in. Screw it all the way in by hand, then tighten to the correct torque, and then torque up the NDS. And as others mentioned grease is your friend
  19. Whats so different between the old and new ones, not a lot in it really? I've heard quite a few people say the new ones are spongey but as a bike mechanic I'm convinced its all in the set-up. I didn't notice much difference going straight from old to new BB7 on my bike. I've tried a few paired with Ultimate levers on other bikes and they felt super stiff. I wouldn't say the new one is a big improvement, but I do think the new adjuster dials are more robust after hitting mine a few times. To the OP, if you can't afford a Mono trial I'd say BB7. No other hydraulic disc has the same bite that is so crucial for front wheel trials moves, and if you're used to a powerfull maggie I doubt you'd be happy with a Juicy 7. Also I think any disc brake will have more modulation than a front maggie. The BB7 bites sharply compared to other brakes but it still has plenty of modulation for trials moves. If you'd prefer loads of modulation over bite for streety moves and are set on a hydro, the Juicy 7s are good for the money. Others I'd consider looking at are Magura Martas (very powerful), also the new Avid Elixirs are really nice but might be a bit expensive. Whatever you get though I can't stress how much the set-up can affect the brake performance. Discs can be fussy bastards to get perfect especially hydraulics.
  20. That was actually a really good episode for once! Its been a while since I've been impressed just by the intro at the start of what was to follow. The Veyron was faster than I expected. Bear in mind its not just heavy because of the engine, its a seriously overbuilt and luxurious car compared to everything else near the top of that board. To think it was that quick on a short and slow track that will always favour light/nimble cars. I think it would kick arse on a faster and longer track. I didn't think it looked very impressive though, it was all so clinical and almost boring for a super car. The Zonda on the other hand, that just looked like crazy fun sliding all over the place, and sounds completely insane! The race was really interesting and made a good change, even if the challenge was easy. I can squeeze 700miles out of the 56litre tank in my old Citroen banger . Did anybody else think why don't they use the Audi diesel that Jeremy did an eco run in a few years back? I'm sure that did 800miles? Oh and yeah I did notice a couple of hotties in the audience, always good when they're talking crap in the interview
  21. Oooh party in Bristol, sounds good. I've not had a night out there but always wanted to, looks like so many places to go to and usually has an awesome atmosphere in the evening. I'll have words with Mike, I think he finishes uni that w/e so hopefully he'll be back and up for partyage. 21st Dave your getting old now
  22. Good times You get any other footage dude?
