THIS is best advice you could have: http://users.aber.ac.uk/sjs99/bike/index.html Go to 'the Mental battle' on the left handside. Some very useful stuff, even for advanced riders (On a less topic-related note, check out the old-skool vids and bikes, AWESOME!)
  2. Had mine for two months now and im very impressed with them. They are immensely grippy, but do seem to wear quite quickly. Only thing I would say is that the rears are very heavy and the fronts seem to have quite thin sidewalls. Having said that i've only had one puncture so far and that was a VERY heavy landing onto a sharp piece of stone. Recommended.
  3. You don't need specific geometery to do those sort of moves. I've got an 1100mm wheelbase bike and I can do everything I ever could on shorter bikes. However, a shorter bike will make bunnyhops and manualling easier, so as long as you don't mind finding 'normal' trials moves a bit harder then go for something like a 1010 - 1040 WB with a very small BB rise (or none at all). Inspired's are very flickable, but you can still do trials on them, so maybe thats an option for you as well.
  4. KOT forks seem to be pretty good. I've had mine 2 months now and they are as good as any other fork i've used. Decent price as well.
  5. Pads: Rock green pads (magura) on rear Time used: 2 months Rim used: 24 Bicycles, no grind Brake used: Magura 05 with plastic hosing. What is your opinion of a working brake: Good bite and hold How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Same(ish) Review: A lot of bite, but lacking real hold on big moves. Having said that I am 16 stone, so a lighter rider would probably find them to be ok. They are very noisy as well, which gets right on my tits! Better pads i've tried are the old Zoo ones, Plazmatics and Monty's. They all have less bite, but better overall hold (and performance in general). Pads: Rock vee pads (clear) on front Time used: 2 months Rim used: Try-All smooth, no grind Brake used: 2007 XTR vee What is your opinion of a working brake: Good bite and hold How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Better, impressive power! Review: f**kING HELL. What a pad! Instant bite and hold with NO modulation. Had to take them off after a while because they are too powerful for a front brake (especially an XTR). These would be ideal for people who do a lot of front wheel moves or for a rear brake. Really dangerous on the front though. They lock up very quickly which resulted in me going over the bars the first time I pulled the brake (no joke). They are hit and miss pads really, so it all comes down to what your going to use them for really.

Really sad news. I remember him from when I first joined TF years ago. Really helpful guy and always remember being jealous of his bike (a Crescent Illions I think?)!
  7. I tell you what, I didn't think much of it in the other colours, but it looks wicked in white. I think the frame is pretty good really. People are paying £500 for a Hydroxx or Coustellier, which aren't exactly made with longevity in mind...... I would seriously consider one, as I am a heavy rider and the weight really isn't that high, given that they're supposed to be really strong. Look at GU's, the new typhoon is 4.63lbs!
  8. I second that A couple of those back wheels were immense!

Nice mate. You have a 'floaty' style of riding, I like it!
  10. Get that man on a trials bike. He would be brilliant!
  11. Top job! Nice choice of song, suited the video.
  12. Cool. Me and my brother will be there at 11 then!
  13. Where is everyone meeting and what time?
  14. Sod the drop at the end, what about the 'proper' one at 0:53!!!!!!! HUUUUUUUUUGE
  15. For me it's: Wanting a Crescent Illions more than anything in the world...... (http://biketrials.com/comp/Motorama-2000/jj-crescent.shtml) Going on the trialskings forum every five minutes Having a seat so I could do 'sit-down' manuals (coaster wheelies) Wheelying ALL the time Having to buy anything remotely trialsy from Bikedock Riding for a laugh, not to see how high/big people could go Brakes which seemed amazing at the time, but would be dangerous today! PROPER GAP JUMPS, NOT THIS GAP TO FRONT WHEEL MALARKEY ALL THE TIME!!!!!!! (it's cheating )
  16. Orange made them in the bigger size for a couple months, then changed to 11". It wasn't a special or anything, just think they took some advice on the design and changed it
  17. 2002 Saracen MAD with lowest BB known to man. Not my first trials bike though. They were: 2001 - Dawes 21" (yes 21"!) MTB 2002 - Azonic DS1 2002 - Orange Zero in white 2003 - Echo ES3 (best bike I've ever had!) Really wish I had pictures of them....
  18. I will be out on Saturday at 11am onwards. Anyone want to meet up?
  19. Hope to be there. What time and where?
  20. Very nice. Like everyone's said though, would look nicer with black forks.
  21. Looks daft. At least they're trying something different I suppose. Looks similiar to that frame Tibault Marriaux used to ride.
  22. Very nice mate. I had a an Echo ES3 many moons ago that looked similiar to that. Hope it rides well.
  23. Thats mental! How do they get the multiple shots of him. Also, how dothey have him in slow motion, but the back ground at normal speed?
