Thats probably the cones incorrectly adjusted, i.e too tight than lack of grease. Watch all the bearings when you take the axel out, it is so easy to get them everywhere.

A light bike will make it easier, like me Em is only a begginner, so she's not gonna be wanting to spend weeks of very boring practise refining her technique on things. Lighter gear, if you run gears, singlespeed is good, lightest tyres you can find, especially on the front, light tubes, get a short stem as well, will really help getting the front end up :D.

I'm just wondering really, can you run riser bars on mods? I know you can physically do it, but whats it like? A mate of mine has just got a T-pro, and I fecking love it, but I can't stand flat bars, they hurt my wrists. Does anybody run 'proper' riser bars, e.g. Azonic Singlewalls/Ea70's etc on their 20"? And the practicalities of it... He's got a 28.6mm stem, i'm thinking that theres a shim to make 25.4 bars fit? cheers rich.
