  1. lol. In my opinion trials is 60% balance, 30% cojones and 10% injuries. Or maybe 10;30;60 I am never quite sure.
  2. At the moment I am using a cut up dmr moto tyre and it is amazing.
  3. Sorry man. Really wasn't trying to piss you off or seem mean, just saying that you don't really have a comparison strength wise of what a bike is like when you seem happy riding a bike that is falling apart.
  4. I use a hope mono trial rotor and a gusster r series rotor on my 4X bike. The R series is surprisingly storg and light, but the hope actually seemed to increase the power of my brake (if that is possible) I am still very impressed by it. The only problem with them is that they rust easily (the inside of the cutouts on mine rusted straight away and I service my bike after each ride)
  5. Got to agree here (sorry tristan), no offence meant by this but surely you can't really say how well a bike rides when you can't even get the bike you are riding working properly, I mean come on, when I rode with you your forks almost fell out by the end of the day.
  6. The DMRs and the Wellgos use the same bearings and if you think that all you need to do is regrease them once in a few years you can't ride much. With my V8s I had to replace the bearings every 2-3 months to keep them smooth, I am now using V12 copies with are cheaper than the V8s and use cartridge bearings so will be much smoother and last longer.
  7. Straight blade have angled shoulders to bring the legs forward so you are getting the same wheelbase.
  8. I wore a helmet but unfortunately I had to take the photos!
  9. Stick with stock, it will be harder to learn on, but if you ridea stock well, you will be able to pick up riding a mod easier, however it will be a lot harder the other way around.
  10. I'm guessing from what he said they are wellgo v12 copies not dmr v12s. To be fair I am not sure that they have replaceable bearings, but the best bet is to try and get them out and get an LBS to measure them and order some new ones.
  11. For one there are industry nine hubs that use a 120 point engagement system. I'm pretty sure that has already been done on bmx hubs and some others with 135mm spacing but they didn't work to well and kept stripping themsleves. I am sure with some work they could work quite well.
  12. If you take the bearings out your LBS should be able to order a new set for around £12 and a new set of those pedals is around £22 off of crc.
  13. I agree, it is likely to be very unreliable on a freehub. Also who said it would be impossible, there are already hubs with 120 engagement points, just more expensive.
  14. Any LBS will be able to order a new one from hope, but that does not sound great. My views of pro 2s are not that great.
  15. Don't use a half link, they really don't run smooth for that long as the huge force that goes into them causes the links to start to straighten out slightly meaning that they end up rubbing.
  16. Could be the cable, take off the lever for the rear brake and see if it still does it. It is surprising how often that is what causes it?
  17. if you are talking about martin from evans in london, he is not that strong and i would say his technique is as good as it needs to be.
  18. Sorry I don't understand, do you mean that you turned the wheel into an egg when building it or do you mean that you crushed your rima nd it now has a giant flatspot? To sort out an egg shaped rim tighten all the spokes on the wide side and loosen them all on the short side.
  19. go for the copies they are cheaper and because the pins screw in from the bottom they are less likely to break.
  20. I doesn't take that long to get from oxford to london either so you will never really be short of people to ride with.
