  1. Lol I did something like this as well. Didn't work too well.
  2. Broke my right wrist 2 times and sprained it twice. Constantly f*cked. I find that the best thing to do is man the f*ck up.
  3. Giro indicator (around £20-30) from halfords. Less off chainreaction cycles.
  4. Made a two bolt booster out of a maggie mount booster and some spacers. Had three of my maggie threads pull out on first pedal kick of a london ride and used nuts to clamp the mounts shut and had it held in place by just one bolt. It worked extremely well.
  5. Already tried it. No help at all
  6. Get it 116mm spacing and use spacers or put tugs inside anyway just don't use it. This way you can always use a 116mm hub if need be. Better still get the frame 135mm with horizontal dropouts. That way you will be spoilt for choice with hubs rather than being restricted with mod hubs.
  7. Don't. The weight difference will be un-noticeable but the difference in strength will be, especially whilst you are learning. My advice is to leave your rims the way they are made, if you really want square holes get rims made like that.
  8. Whatever you feel comfertable running. The norm is 170/175. In the end it does not really make a difference as you will get used to whateer you are running. I suggest 175 as they give you the most leverage.
  9. White spirit is basically a pure alcohol cleaner and I am pretty sure it does not have an oil base like paint thinner (correct me if I am wrong). Because of this it will be fine, I personally use cheap nail varnish remover and it works well.
  10. For one you could try and use words and grammar rather than text talk. Then you should go about reading the guidelines!
  11. Are you sure you bled it right or are you jsut used to the feel of a water bleed? Oil feels fine to me. The maggie bleed kit comes with a small amount of magura blood which should allow you to bleed both brakes with it, so I would reccomend using that. For those of you wondering, cooking oil has the exact same feel as magura blood just at less than 1/10th the cost which is why I use it.
  12. Remove the quick release skewer or axle bolts (or whatever else is being used) remove the the hub cap (the end of the axle that covers the bearings and normally has a serated washer on it) and then the freehub should just pull of with a little amount of force (don't be too harsh, if it doesnt budge it may have a locking system) If you still have problems take it into your lbs and ask their advice or just get them to do it. Just so you know I have not worked on atomlab rear hubs myself but all hubs are pretty much the same in the way that they are put together.
  13. Disc brake cleaner, alchohol or heat. Pick one and use it.
  14. First of all don't use dot fluid in your maggie. For less money you can get citreon mineral oil. I have a tendancy to use cooking oil and I know lots of people use water, both of which are fine. Secondly any lbs that tells you to use dot fluid in a hydraulic brake without first checking the correct fluid is crap and should not be allowed to help customers even if they say to use it in disc brakes a lot of them use mineral oil and would be f*cked if dot fluid was used.
  15. Take off the freehub body, check for any damage (replace anything broken). Remove the springs and pawls, clean and re-grease everything and then put it all back together. Will solve all of your problems.
  16. You can use chaintugs inside the frame if you prefer, or if you don't like chain tensioners in any way you will need a 3mm thick spacer on each side.
  17. Go for the truvativ link. Heavy but strong and reliable.
  18. I've had theviz one for a good few months now and have had no problem with it. It runs ultra smooth and is very well made.
  19. If you want to upgrade go for either the eno, the tensile or even the try-all. I personaaly use the new style try-all and the engagement is insane, it hasn't skipped once and I am not a light or a smooth rider. What ever you get it will be a lot better than the dicta ones.
  20. If it is coming loose and you say something is brocken then the likelihood is the locknut is broken. have a look, if it is change it then tighten the locknut against the cone to stop it loosening
  21. I have done this sort of thing before, decided I liked things better before and just bought a new frame aswell.
  22. Just because it is 24" does not mean it is exclusively for kids. It should be a lot stronger than it looks and be fine for anyone to ride. Just make sure you keep an eye on the wheels as the stock quality ones don't llok amazing, however they should be fine as long as maintained.
  23. The way forward brother. Loose jeans are also alright. I ocassionaly wear cargo pants but they tend to catch in the rear wheel.
