  1. What bike do you ride? Marino stock How long you been doing trials? about 9 months What is your biggest flat to flat? Just over 6 foot (think I could go a bit further) What is your biggest sidehop? 26" What is your biggest drop? 5' but can definitely go higher natty or street? Both, mostly street. Where is your favourite place to ride? Probably Londinium
  2. Saturday sounds good. Hoping I have my new bike for then. woop, woop!
  3. I used to use 22:16 and now use 22:18. I am a lot smoother with the 18t rear sproket, but to be honest I am thinking of going back to 16t as I like to hit stuff a bit faster. I say it depends on what you want more to be fast or smooth. Though you can do the same with either, just a bit harder. Just pick one and get used to it.
  4. Get marino frame and forks as they cost boll*cks all and are made from steel!
  5. I may come. Just a bitch to get back that night! What bike you riding now?
  6. Linear slic cables make the brake less spongy as they do not compress!
  7. Give me a shout when it comes and I will lend a hand and show you how to set everything up right for you. You decided what you are getting yet?
  8. Halfords, just ask. Also builders merchants or any industrial estates.
  9. What an absolute load of bullsh*t. Trials riding is not only done in the UK, it has a fairly large base in America and most of europe for that matter, also china (where most frames are impoted from anyway). I don't know anyone who rides indoor comps and although what you say abou riding in the rain is technichally correct, very few people come out in the rain.
  10. There is sh*te loads in ricky to ride, plus you are only 15mins ride from watford. Give me a call (07515533868) and we will go for a ride.
  11. Basically I need a new echo urban rim in blue. Tarty do not have it in, so I was wondering is it worth getting it from selectbikes?
  12. There are two or three of us in Watford, but what you should do is come on the next london ride.
  13. I thought we were having a normal ride on saturday, not 24" only.
  14. I am pretty sure that Matt Bird used an angle grinder on his actually.
  15. Worth the extra weight. Steel rides so much nicer than alu.
  16. I learned them the other day and can quite easily do 25/26 inches, which is not great but I reckon that will improve preety quickly. Going to try sidehop to rail in a few days, that should be fun!
  17. There is a topic in rides (i know pre-members can't post). I am riding on saturday, so is Fatpants, a guy called Tom and a BMXer friend of mine, there might be some others as well. Call me 07515533868.
  18. It is possible to hop around on the back wheel of a bmx, it is just a hell of a lot harder. I would say that 20" would be better to start off on as they are so easy to control, whereas 24" are an aquired taste if you catch my drift. As for having a go, come to london on saturday, there will be a couple of us riding and it should be a good experience, bring your bmx and have a laugh!
  19. I only just learned to sidehop to a reaonable standard and after learning to hop towards my forward foot a cuple of guys said that I should learn the other way instead. The reasoning behind this is that when you et up to higher stuff where every millimeter counts hoping away from your forward foot allows you to be closer to the obstacle without catching your pedal. To be honest I don't see it being much of a problem either way.
  20. Not quite, when the crank arm rounds it means the interface between crank and bb does not have a tight fit, this allows a small amount of movement, this pushes against the bolt and causes it to loosen. The more the bolt loosens the more the crank wobbles. The best temporary fix is to use a strip of coke can like already has been said.
  21. When starting just try and drop off small things, get the technique on curbs and slowly work your way up. If you are not smooth off of something small, then you will hurt yourself on bigger things!
