  1. Hate to say this but in my opinion drops become different at around 6 foot. It is the first sort of height where you have any time to think while in the air, any lower and it is just one quick motion. That may just be me though.
  2. I have slipped so many times of wet wooden surfaces. Luckily never like that though!
  3. By the sounds of it (i think) you have lost the dust covers (the metal rings with a slight dish that sit around the cone). These are normally specific to the hub. Your best bet would be to go to a couple of bike shops and see if they have anything lying around that fits. You can use the hub without them but I would not really recommend it as dirt will get in and make the bearings feel like crap and if the cones come slightly loose you will lose all of the bearings. Maybe try giving some more detailed information if you want more useful help!
  4. That is the point though, it would mean that you could change from trials to standard gearing while effectively still having a single speed bike, meaning we could get around better/ride street stuff easier. Also as the smaller gearing is the direct drive one it might hold up, but I don't think it will stand up to bashers like myself.
  5. there is a huge difference between the 525s and the SLXs. Try it, should be quite good in my opinion. I wanna try out the saints, they have some beasty power.
  6. If everything is set up right and you are using decent pads on a grind then you should have no problems. Try some different pads (phat pad or rock blues have worked well for me) and make sure everything is set up right.
  7. never use dot fluid for a magura as they are designed for mineral oil and dot fluid will rot the seals. Anyway if you could use dot fluid why not use dot 5.1 instead of 4?
  8. hahahahaha, what truvativs are these then. I run them on my mountainbikes and they are strong and stiff, but also the heaviest cranks I have ever used. That makes two of us.
  9. Neoprene diving gloves. I used to wear some in the winter and they keep your hands toasty warm and give you good grip, plus your hands don't get all sweaty like they would in latex gloves. I still have mine at my dads, next ride you can try them if you want and see if they are better for you!
  10. I ordered two frames a trials one and a 4x one. The trials frame broke within two rides (the back end twisted some how). He did sort me out a refund for it but it took ages, lots of e-mails and eventually having to deal with another customer of his who owed him money. On a brighter note the 4x frame is still going strong and the frames do feel beautiful to ride.
  11. I live in farringdon but I ride watford a lot
  12. Agreed! Trials in watford sucks. Glad I live in central london now
  13. I never see anyone ride watford. It seems to be just me, Graeme, Ali and Grant (though he technically does not really ride trials anymore)
  14. I have sd5 vees on my street bike and with the pads I use they are the most powerful brakes that I have ever tested. I would however recommend front bb7 and rear sd5 both with sd5/7 levers
  15. no buying or selling in nmc!
  16. Yeah, if you can't bunnyhop yet, don't start trying to hop to back up things. Learn to hop up a curb and progress until you can hop over a toppled over cone or something. I always like practicing on full bin bags left in the street. Then when you have got that and you want to get them to back, you just give yourself a bit more space when pulling up and keep the bars high/ push the back into the wall and soak up the impact like you would with a pedal kick!
  17. I will probs be riding but later on as I will not get home til about 8 in the mourning!
  18. I would recommend asking on BMX forum. In my opinion go for secondhand as £190 is not a lot. Alternatively a GT tour or vertigo should be good, they are strong and reliable, although a little heavy and the frames are quite small.
  19. Ali come for a ride with me, get the train from watford or croxley and meet me at farringdon. There is not much stuff undercover but you have a grind don't you so just man up and ride in the rain like the rest of us do!
  20. Haven't any as it was at work, so not able to say lets film this, but I will see if I can get some. I also tried to wheelie a 12" bike but that was a stupid idea and I just fell off the back!
  21. Glad you all like it but after years of building those b*stards (and mucking around out back on them) I know first hand that the brakes won't give you the power you nned for natural. However they should be cool for street, I have never ridden an easier bike to 180 (apart from maybe the 12" moonman)
