    Street V Trials

I had to cut the video short and just work with the few cr*p clips that I had but still: link
  3. there is a good deal on a wtp crysis in the for sale section.
  4. When I used to do it it would take me about 10 minutes of riding before I got used to each bike again but it was not too difficult, however I now ride 26" for street, park and trials so I have less of a problem.
  5. Not true at all, with a grind and a decent set of pads rim brakes will work great in the wet, in fact mine work just as well as they do in the dry and the power is much greater than that of a disc. It really comes down to what you want, if you want modulation, an easier set up and no noise then go disc, if you want ultimate power go rim. My recommendation is disc on the front so you can control your speed easier and rim brake on the rear to avoid slip.
  6. I had a slight problem when I first went to horizontal and now I absolutely love it. Once you chain has bedded in and you adjust it there are no problems at all if you set it up right and as for adjusting the brake all the time, if you set up the brake in the right way the first time it often needs little or no adjustment at all.
  7. GT85 actually does work as a lubricant, though not as well as a dedicated chain lube. I personally use it to lubricate the freehub on a couple of my bikes as it lubricates with out making pawls stick.
  8. If I remember rightly it is A130 carbon steel and from my use of them they are not the most reliable and neither for that matter is marino. I ordered two frames a while back one trials and one 4x style. The trials one lasted 4 rides before the whole back end twisted doing something minuscule. Was promised a refund which took a couple of months and I was in the end told to chase up the money from another customer over here. Saying that my 4x one is still going strong. I am pretty sure I would not order another one, especially with the sh*t metal!
  9. WD40 is not actually a lubricant and will be worse for your bike than leaving it as it will remove what is left of the lubricant that is already there! Some oils will work fine but are very thick and will pick up all kinds of crap (dust, dirt, etc...) and make your chain feel like crap and not last very long. You can use gt85 if you want but I still recommend a good chain lube.
  10. New website design now running: www.sstein.co.nr

  11. Does any one know if I can take rock blue pads out of their backings and put them in the phat pad backings with out the need to modify them?
  12. Bash rings are stronger, better for the frame and, give better protection and more clearence! They do however make up to bash a little bit harder!
  13. This is rare, but for once I agree with you!
  14. They are going for £69.99 link
  15. I have a feeling that he is talking about the old T-rexs (the 2001 model) which they don't have any more
  16. Sounds cool. End up in Mile end or there abouts?
  17. hoots has work so I will be riding street! Anyone got any good spots to try, I am bored or the usual what with riding it everyday!
  18. You can remove one of the arms of the star nut that you use currently and drill a hole through the top cap. Then just run your cable through. Alternatively use a headlock and drill a hole through that.
  19. Go for dot 5.1, as already said it has a higher boiling point which means that if you do like to go down big hills with the brakes on then you are less likely to get brake fade, also it lasts longer before you need a re-bleed. Also contrary to what some one has said I am pretty sure that fluid does compress slightly, dot 4 a little more so than dot 5.1 though you are very unlikely to notice that!
  20. Taya chrome Bmx chain, in my opinion it is the best chain available! Never snapped one, have them on three bikes!
  21. Hoots and I were thinking of hitting finsbury park. If that fails I would love a normal london sesh, have not done one of those with anyone for ages!

    Rear Brakes

I use a magura because it is what there are mounts for on my bike and I have a couple of them. I would be just as happy using a V and have no problem with disc as long as they are set up right! It just comes down to what you like the feel of and what sort of riding you are using it for!
  23. Are you serious!? It is much easier to get higher with one fluid rotation of the cranks!
