Thanks. Just wanted to be sure, didn't want to use wrong glue and melt the pad material or something š

Recently got hold of some Coust pads with Clark's backings, which left plenty to be desired when setting up, excessive play etc. I plan on fitting the material to a pair of old Heatsink CNC backings I have going spare. What glue is/was the go to for these?

The only experience I've had with this was a few smaller components, headset, cranks etc. I used an oven cleaner solution with hot water and left it for around 20 minutes, checking on it periodically. It removed the anodising from the parts completely, even in the hard to reach places. As for quantity I used roughly 50ml in 1L of hot water, but I suppose you could add more if it's not effective enough. I cant see it causing any issues as long as you remove it as soon as it's free of the colour and rinse it thoroughly afterwards. It will start to etch the aluminium if left too long! As I said I haven't done anything as big as a frame, but I'd personally recommend getting a big enough container to fully submerge it and turning it over periodically to ensure the solution is getting all of the frame.

I had one like this a few months ago, searched the username and got nothing so I figured something didnāt add up.

I could be wrong here but it looks more like a 219 frame, as far as Iām aware the 221ās never came with a functional seat tube or a hole to put a seat in. Could potentially be re stickered 219? Edit A quick Google has turned this up, looks like youāve got a 2003 219. Hope this helps!

I canāt say I have, not sure why I didnāt think of that, Iāve seen your video about it too š¤¦āāļø Iāll give it a go, thanks!

Iāve got a pair of Hope gunsmoke floating rotors on my mountain bike, and they seem to be past it in terms of performance. I bought them secondhand and they looked fairly worn, I was a bit worried that they may be contaminated but Iāve persevered with them as the gunsmoke parts are hard to come by. Iāve serviced the brakes and put new pads in but nothing has changed, the brakes are as good as non existent. Is there anything I can do to bring these rotors back to life? Iāll change them over if I have to but Iād like to keep the gunsmoke parts on if possible.

I have actually tried to contact them, got no response. Iām not after them urgently, Obviously with the current situation being the way it is Iām not expecting sticker printing to be a priority, Iāll try them again and see if they respond.

Does anyone know of a decent graphics company that can print me a set of monty 221ti frame stickers? Iāve tried everywhere for a replacement set but considering the age of the frame I wasnāt surprised to find that nowhere stocks them anymore. Any help would be appreciated, just got hold of a ti but itās a bit tatty and Iād love to get it looking new again with new stickers to match. Cheers!

Nice work! Done a few builds like this myself. Its so rewarding bringing a tired looking bike back to life, not to mention an awful lot of work! -
Hey, recently bought a specialized Tricross sport disk for a bit of road riding, as the mountain bike feels too weighty for rolling around the streets on. I Picked up an Orange RX9 frameset and used all the specialized bits to build it, only thing is the wheels are a bit past it, and I fancy something a bit wider/more versatile so Iām not restricted to just paths and roads. Any pointers? This side of bikes is very foreign to me and I havenāt got a clue whatās good or not. Im after a decent set of wheels that donāt cost the earth, need to be disk compatible and fit 135x10 and 110x10 with QR axles. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Hi all. Iām running a pair of mono miniās on my orange and the performance is underwhelming. The pads in them are old and most likely past their best, so whatās the best pads to go for as an upgrade? I know mono minis arenāt the most powerful brakes ever but even a slight improvement will do until I can afford to upgrade the whole setup. Picture of my five for anyone whoās curious! Thanks.

Looks slick mate!

Thanks. I hadnāt heard of it at all until my friend got it, they donāt seem to be very common! Quite an odd geo even by todayās standards.

Recently picked this up from a friend for a good price, fair to say itās the polar opposite of what Iām used to riding. Only been out a couple of times on it but it already feels very easy to manoeuvre and throw around! The crazy high bb makes for an interesting feel but itās something I can see myself getting used to.

Iāll check that out, and yeah I think Iāll stick with 26" as itās just a case of swapping the bits over to a new frame.
-
I canāt see the picture for some reason! Not sure if itās just me.
-
Ah yeah thatās a good point, I hadnāt noticed that. Iāll give thoses sites a try and see what I find. And yeah Iād be interested, Iāll pm you. Thanks.

Hey guys. A few months ago I wound up with a ā09 Boardman pro. The frame is 20ā and Iām only 5ft 6ā so itās a bit on the tall side for me. Ive been looking for a new frame but I canāt seem to find a great variety, and with the bike being 26ā Iām struggling to find frames that arenāt 27.5ā- does this matter? And would it be a case of just buying new rims and lacing them to my current hubs? Alternatively if anyone here has a 26ā medium sized frame going (17-18ā) then Iād be interested in doing a deal. Thanks!

The extra spacing with the 150 hubshells is in between the non driveside flange and the disk mount, so the disk mounts will have to go but thatās not an issue really as I donāt use disk brakes.
-
Is there a write up on how itās done anywhere? Iāve got a 150mm pro 2 evo knocking around that I wouldnāt mind trying to convert.
-
Hahaha thatās amazing

Iāve got a bb7 with a shimano 203mm rotor and trialtech pads, and itās mad how powerful it is. I donāt believe Iāve even ridden it enough for it to be fully bedded in yet and itās more than capable. +1 on the hope adaptor, donāt mess round with anything else!
