  1. Excellent pics Mike! How do you find the 350D? I'm going to start properly looking into an SLR soon I think, since Chris R recommends it it sounds like a sensible choice. Dan
  2. Thanks for the comments so far guys. Yea they were, i'm impressed with it, although it's not mine (mates dads). I'm intending to get one of the low end SLRs in a few months, i'm starting to dislike my point and shoot. Dan
  3. A selection of the 250 odd photos I took, i could have probably left some out but it's done now so please feel free to peruse the selection. All are clickable for a larger (1024x...) image. I hope you enjoyed them. Dan Thanks to DJs parents and everyone who helped for a brilliant day, great weather, great riding, great people and great food!
  4. No harm in replying i guess Koxx "try-all" rim with grind also use a RB designs lever. My brakes are well set up. Only used tar recently on my 2 year old koxx brown pads. Currently running plazmatics and I love them (noisy, great lock and a good solid feel), always willing to try other pads though. I'm not the biggest rider move wise but I do test my brakes and I hate them being unreliable. Dan
  5. I thought it used to be, now it's a number of different drivers i think. Top Gear is the highlight of the week tv wise. It's a great show for everyone not just car nuts. I love it for everything about it, my mum, dad and sis love it for the comedy and the chemistry between the presenters. Yes it's not a "car show" any more it's a car themed entertainment show, which is one reason it's so bloody popular. The ideas they come up with are the sort of things i would love to do with spare time. Dan
  6. Go to the doctors. A guy I used to work with had a bmxer mate who did something similar and it went black. He was going to leave it to heal but his gf convinced him to see a doctor and it turned out the flesh was dieing and it was spreading, if this is the case you may loose a chunk of your arse. Looks evil! Dan
  7. Exactly Rob that droplet shot is great, I have tried with dripping taps but they never look clean enough for my liking. Sounds like you put a lot of thought into the set-up! Dan
  8. Light writing, you need a small led or something that emits a precise light (torches flood the picture). Long shutter speed (as long as you need really) and a dark ish room. Dan
  9. Crikey! The pink micra was a different car. The number plates were different to start with. I imagine the colour differences where either filters or different pink paint. Nissan do the pink in solid, metallic and pearl metallic. Or the owner had had it sprayed that pink because they have no taste. The koenigsegg is frankly mental but i'd never buy one even if i had the money. Zonda/SLR/Enzo/ for me, i like being alive. TOP GEAR IS BACK BABY! Dan
  10. There were some of these for bikes on display at the bikeshow a couple of years ago. DJ convinced the guy on the stand to change the image to "The Fluffy Bunny Movement". Was great in pink, looked quite cool but wouldn't work very well on a trials bike. Dan
  11. I love them both but in VERY different ways! Dan
  12. Not bad, the one with the two guys in it would be better if you were lower to the ground i think, so your looking up at their faces. On your camera there should be a sport mode under the menu i'd imagine, turn this on and it should reduce/remove most of the blurring on the action shots. The handstand one would be better if you could see the ground as well, also crop it so it's portrait to focus the photo on the guy doing the move. hope that makes sense. Dan
  13. ^ This ^ Faster shutter speeds and some different angles. In my opinion the moment is captured at the right point. Dan
  14. Audi A8 4.0 TDi 800 miles on one tank and tidy performance. Dan
  15. dilbert...... different field though i imagine. Dan
  16. What animal has a c**t in the middle of its back? A Police horse. What did the deaf, dumb and blind kid get for christmas? A Pinball Machine Dan
  17. Prawns words make sense as per usual. I'm far from the best driver but I think i'm safe. Be wary all the time and don't assume what someones going to do "assumption is the mother/brother any other sucker of all f**k-ups" My Nan always used to say to me when I was learning (re-itterates other peoples point). "All other drivers on the road are idiots". Don't show off or anything like that with mates/girls. My girlfriend appreciates me driving sensibly so much more than if I was driving like an ass. Get lots of experiance with sensible people in the car (parents, instructor) they will be able to point things out to you and will stop you from driving badly to start with. Know your car & stereo, you don't want to be reaching around for the controls while driving it's just dangerous. If people criticise it's probably for a good reason, don't ignore them. Be sensible about overtaking, there's a time and a place and if you get it wrong it's possibly the last mistake you will ever make. If in doubt just don't go. It is better to be a bit late than never get where you're going. People have different ideas about driving and the best way to do it, try and be objective, somethings will be right, some wrong, i'm sure people will disagree with stuff I do or have said here but it's your choice. Use your common sense. I will continue thinking. Dan
  18. Goldeneye So so much fun at multiplayer and single player also the first game that had me addicted. It will allways be in my mind the best game. Duck Hunt on the NES! many many hours of fun on that, especially when the gun went hay-wire and everyshot was a hit even when you were aiming away from the tv. Legend of Zelda games, the one of the N64 was the last game I played that I was addicted too (it was a long time ago now) Modern games are great but I never have quite as much fun with all aspects of them. Halo is awesome but not better than Goldeneye. GTA San Andreas is also a brilliant game and the reason I bought my PS2 but it just lacks something to make it my favourite ever. Dan bring on the revolution!
  19. Really good as normal Chris, any more you'd like to show us? Please Dan
  20. Thanks We arrived about 1 and left about 4. I think I took about 180 photos in the end. Lot's of multi burst that produced lot's of crap and a few nice shots. Dan
  21. A few shots from today, only 4 of us and only the train station as we arrived late and it started to rain shortly afterwards. All with some adjustment in Photoshop; cropping, border and a little colour balance. Chris Abbey Drop Chris Mid Spin Mike Crowther pre-loading for the gap to bench Mike upping to front wheel Mike pre-loading before up to front wheel. Peter "Tic Tac" Haydon up to front wheel Tic landing at a funky angle on the up Tic spin off Me Sidehopping (taken by Mike) All hosted on Flickr so if it doesn't work follow this link to my flickr main page.
