Cheers for the advice from everyone. Now just out of curiosity, does anyone think it would be possible to drill holes and tap them so a plate could be mounted? ...hypothetically Where would one get thin aluminum like that? Preferably for a decent price. haha
-
Hey guys, I was just wondering if it's possible to: 1) find a bash plate with geometry designed for a stock bike 2) if such a thing exists, but my bike doesn't have mounts for a bash plate, is it possible to custom fab? You see, I'm worried about denting/cracking my frame on the down tube when I miss...as i'm a heavier rider. Any help would be great. Cheers

Hey all, just was curious to know if the Echo hydraulic rim brakes are really worth the extra money over the Maggies? Replies from people who have tried both would be great... Cheers

Just another pointless poll out of curiosity. Personally, I use just one to maximize the grip on the bar. Cheers!

Just curious to see how many of you ride with caged pedals and how many with platform pedals. Sorry for the repition etc, first poll posting. (Also, which brand and why?) Cheers

By no means am I an expert on suspension forks, but you might want to think about ordering a fork from North America. 150 GBP is 300 CAD, and prices here seem to be the same number just different unit (150 GBP from a store in UK, or 150 CAD from a store in Canada. Don't ask me why). All I know is, $300 can get you a NICE fork. Cheers buddy

Hey all. I've been trying to figure out how to do front-to-rear moves where you stall your front wheel on a ledge or something, then quickly snap your rear wheel up, placing it basically in the exact place your front wheel was. Unfortunately I don't have a video of the move I'm trying to explain, so hopefully you know what I'm talking about. Any pointers would be awesome. Cheers

Oh, well for lifts here are my main stats (all in 1 rep maximum form): Bench: 102kg Squat: 135kg Deadlift: 160kg And yeah, for my body weight, my stats aren't overly impressive
-
If by stats you mean like, height and weight and all that, I'm 6'1'' ish, 215 and I'm 16 years old

Not true at all. Yes, your testicles will shrink, but not your dick. Your balls will shrink because they no longer need to produce testosterone since it's been replaced by the steroids (which is basically testosterone). The darker you are, the more definition you will have. Ever noticed that a lot of black people look WAY more jacked than the white guys...thats why

Meul, I happened to notice you talking a lot about curls or doing a lot of curls in your routines. Not a problem, but I'm asuming you'd like to build your arms. The triceps group is much bigger than the biceps and if you build your triceps, you will notice bigger size differences more quickly. Also, if you train you neglect your tri's and only work the biceps, you will eventually reach a point where your body will reject muscle growth because it just won't work (my bro's a perfsonal trainer, so I'm not just pulling this stuff out of my ass). Also, for a really good "pump" try strip-sets. This is where you select 3 weights you know you can curl in descending weight (ie. 15kg, 10 kg, 5kg). Just any 3 weights with a similar drop in weight. Then, start curling the heaviest weight, do it 5-10 times. Drop the weight (not literally) and instantly pick up the second weight, curl it 5-10 times...you get the picture. If you'd like me to give you some triceps exercizes just PM me Cheers P.S. I have no idea of your weight lifting background, so forgive me if I talked down to you in anyway...just trying to be detailed

Agree 100% So much better to do the proper movement with less weight than either do it incorrectly and have no gain or serious hurt yourself. It really is all about form. Do what you can (properly) and don't be ashamed. Just like in trials, everyone starts somewhere. Also keep in mind when you start that some people are NATURALLY stronger than others. So don't worry if you and your buddy go to a gym, both first time lifters, and he can do more. Doesn't matter...
-
Just so everyone knows, I'm not in this for some sorta online competition to see who can do more. And I train on freeweights as well. mind you I have been lifting since i was 11...
-
Well obivously, American football isn't popular in the UK. But in Canada, I know so many football players who can lift WAY more than anyone here has mentioned, including myself. If you're talking bench for one rep, I can get 98kg up, and I'm only 16. Where as my beast of a brother can do 143! (little older). Unless my conversions are way off... 1kg=2.2 lbs, correct?

I run a front freewheel on a stock, works great. And I can't speak for horizontal dropouts as I know nothing about them, but if you have vertical drops you'll need a mech hanger or you'll have hub/axle trouble

Cheers for the help!

Is there a really noticeable difference between 72 and 108 engagement points?
-
Hey all, Just wondering if anybody's used the Try-All 108 freewheel and how well it's stood up to abuse. I like the idea of 108 engagements, but if it isn't reliable or durable, it's not worth the money...Comments please Cheers

Thanks a ton, awesome advice! Cheers

Will it work if I just pick some tar up off the road? The kind of tar they fill cracks in the pavement with...
-
I know there are a lot of threads about tar, but when I used the search, I couldn't find any that told people how to heat the tar and how to apply it. So if any of you have used tar and heated it by yourself, please give some instructions for those of us who are noobs... Cheers

In time yeah...too much snow here to ride in anything but a parking lot. Gotta nail all the basics too with the new geo. I'll let you guys know EDIT: I had it out in a parking lot today actually, just doing some back hops, manuals etc etc. Rear wheel moves are just a breeze. In 1 hour of riding this bike, I'm already better than all the time spent on my other bike. Just so nice on the rear...
-
Thanks guys, sounds like there's nothing to worry about...Good to hear!
-
Hey guys, Just a quick question...when you're doing back hops/hopping on the rear wheel, do your maggies squeak each time you land or am I likely doing something wrong that causes them to squeak? Cheers
