  1. I used to run a maggieon the front, with raceline 04 lever? (correct me if i'm wrong ) and it was pretty powerful but as previously stated, with tar or soft pads to much noise, im now running a hope mono trial and to tell the truth, personally i think it sucks, i will most likely be investing in an avid bb7 due to the fact that when i rode my friends bike with a bb7, i loved the feel of the brake and they gave instant locking power - without the screech ! P.S he used an sd7 lever with a linear cable! cheers james(Y)
  2. HA HA LOL! somebody didn't read the rules , oh well there's always next time.
  3. hi, and yes you can have spacers above the stem, when i done it i found that it caused play in my headset, so kept them underneaath, easiest thing to do is cut you steerer tube that way, you wipe out the problem of needing spacers in the first place ! james
  4. he means no buying or selling in NMC, surely you didn't think that he meant not leaving your name !! ?
  5. hi, i would recommend an avid bb7, not over expensive and seriously good when set up correctly if not, i run a hope mono trial and they are also awesome !, i think part of this comes down to personal choice/ personal preference. james
  6. and the point in that video was. . . . lol?
  7. i'm usually the last person to get 'physical' or agressive out on the street, but when my friends bike was stolen, we got it back and lets just say the lad won't be stealing my bike or anyone of my friends bikes anytime soon. i hate to say it mate, but violence is the answer in this one, i would personally K.O the F****R !!!!!!! Good luck!, james
  8. i get your point, but i'm fine for a bike now.lol managed to get this python, awesome specc awesome condition, only £425 . thanks for all the info anyway guys. i s'pose it's handy to know james.
  9. alright, personally i think it look sreally good ! at the end of the day i think it all boils down to personal preference, but yea, i'd go with the bradded hoses james.
  10. my friend has only just bought a new back wheel (smooth, he hasn't ground it yet), and i was riding his t pro the other day, even though i ride with a grind and tar his brake was mint ! better than mine, these pads are well worth the money. james.
  11. well the maxxis creepy crawlers are mint!, but not the softest compound, if your only going to be riding when your at a spot i suggest either a try all sticky or the echo tyres they are *** hope i helped, james.
  12. course i heard of koxx lol i knew about yaabaa beeing made by koxx, it's ok anyway i've got my hands on a ZOO! python 05, if the deal falls through iv spied an echo lite
  13. Right, i'm a wee bit stuck; i was going to order the yaabaa 649 due to the fact that i just fell for it when i seen it and it had a good price tag for the spec, however looking at it, there's just something about it that doesn't look right. i have now seen the onza t-comp 2007 and for the same price its hard to decide, but i was wondering could anyone help me which is the better bike? e.g which rides better? thanks james.
  14. yea, sorry i put the wrong link i meant to put the link to the YAABAA 649*** i'm still set on this bike and i think i'm ordering it next week, wish me luck going mod again ! james
  15. well i run 2.30's and they fit quite nice they still very thick due to not very wide chain stays, so i'm still not convinced that it would all work smooth. ALSO i don't see why you couldnt ride street trials, because thats nearly the only trials riding i do and its fine! james
  16. alright mate, do what i'm doing and save up just that extra bit more and go for the yaabaa 649, won't be many parts to upgrade then, unless you thinking of making it to your own spec? i think they are nice bikes and reading about them being a sub brand of koxx i've definately made my mind up let me know what they are like james
  17. hi there and welcome to the forum ! as for your post: i built a ta26 and discovered that the chainstays are not very wide i.e. when i run a 2.5 tyre on 26" wheels it rubbed. the chainstays 'come closer' together so im not sure that it would work. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2181 (3rd picture down) this is what i mean by they come closer, so if you got away with 24" you would need to run a slimmer tyre i guess. hope i helped in some way james
  18. well, well, this sounds erm, interesting to say the least. lol just joking but i wouldn't go with pink i'd reccomend white they look awesome
  19. sorry i put the wrong link, lol. it was intended to be the magura version, thanks for any comments
  20. alright, im currently riding stock however i really fancy a change of bike and im thinking of going mod again, im 1m 70cm tall (sorry about units 'because i don't know what i am in foot) i weigh 63 kg and am thinking of buyin this bike next month: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=10361 any reccomendations/ tips/ advice would be helpfull. i only have around £550 max to spend, what do you think? thanks james.
  21. sorry, BUT if you read the rules, there's no selling in NMC !!!! and as your topic goes; i would reccomend onza bikes, i have had an oza t pro in the past it was awesome for the cheap £60 i paid for it off ebay and my friend has the 05 t pro, which is also awesome, another friend has just ordered the t pro 2008, they also rock AWESOME for the money !!!!! hope this helps

    Alan vid 5 or 6

its alan and pikey mike from redcar ? im the kid who bought lewis base frame lol only just recognised you .... you don't know me though
  23. right, i ride a base ta26 and the frame is relatively light, but to avoid the seat problem you have i used an angle grinder to cut the part that the seat post goes into and created a trials mini seat ! (the cheap alternative to a buying a monty one). i think that you are goin to have quite a few problems due to the fact that your frame is really high around the top tube, so it will be hard to manouver, i would suggest loosing some of the heavy parts and replacin them with lighter more trials specific? also i now ride stock but for learining i rode a 20" so if you find you have to many problems id suggest a cheap 20" ?? just an idea, james.
  24. hi, i've had the same problem, but only lately, i have checked the cranks and everything, they were fine, but when i took the bb out and played with it, it was grinding and horrible so, i just made it easy for myself and bought a new one . . .
  25. hi and good choice moving to the 26" i tried this not long back and found it a nightmare,my chain kept skipping from 3,4 ect and snapped on eveyride i went on so i bought some new gears and set them back up, i would recommend that you put that bit extra money in and just have the casette removed and go true single speed saves a lot of trouble hope you sort it out
