Ali how nasty was that flip? Looks like you'd have to bomb along, bunnyhop in then flip out all in a couple of seconds, doesn't look very steep/flip friendly either! It's disappointing how little stuff there is out there that can truly be flipped, that place looks great though, if you're on that level!

I think he'd be above average, if we had to ride in sandals instead of bike specific shoes and had his bike complete with quill stem and steel 25" riser bars then our riding would suffer a bit. Most kids here would just flat out refuse to ride that bike. I like his attitude, the whole vibe there is fun, the opposite of a comp video.

He needs a sponsor or two! I reckon that bike may be holding him back a bit...

Because dirt jumpers and slopestyle riders put f**k all force through their hubs compared to trials riders! I'm pretty sure we put hubs and brakes through more force than any other discipline. You really think a Halo hub would last us more than a few weeks? Also, are you sure it's a mountain bike hub with a short freehub body? I'm pretty sure the mtb version has an alloy freehub, not titanium, and has 24 engagement points instead of the 48 and 80 we get. If you were trying to save money I could sort of understand it, but you're actually aiming to spend more than a Hope on an inferior product. There's a reason everyone uses Hope.

So you're aiming to buy a weaker hub?

Nothing is as good as a Hope. Plus if you ever break something, Chris King will never help you out the way Hope will.

I really don't like kickers dragged out into the middle of nowhere just to flip for the sake of it. I like the fact Ali doesn't do that, even though he quite easily could. Also his front rotor is on backwards.

That's my problem with Hopes, they're great new, but once they fade then no amount of pads or rotors seem to bring them back.

203mm will be no problem on an Arcade. Euan's done it for about 18 months with Saints.

If you spin the correct way (outside foot forward) you'll have a much easier time. They're a pain in the arse for me and I don't really like doing them, just land as flat as you can, landing front high looks and feels bad.
